During this last cold/ice freeze my radiator ruptured and caused the head on the engine to crack. I thought the it was just the radiator and took it to Boney's they soon discovered the head had cracked and quoted me a repair. They kept me informed during the process and were very professional. *********************DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY******************* Their services are extremely overpriced. on 6AUG2014, I had a radiatior replaced in an 1998 Acura. I paid $344.00 for replacement parts and labor. When I asked to see the receipt, I was charged $158.00 for the radiator itself. I asked why was the price so high and Mrs. Boney explained that it was the absolute best prices she could give me. I contacted Advance Auto, the company that Boney's Radiator Service, purchases their radiators from. Advance Auto confirmed that Boney Radiator Service pays approximately $80.00 per radiator. Take my advice and go somewhere else to get your work done. This company doesn't practice fair pricing. The price changes for every customer.

Imagine this. I'd recently moved from Wilmington (my hometown all of my family still there) to New Orleans for a career change and a new start. I drive back to Wilmington to pick up a vehicle I had done a few repairs on. 2011. I order a radiator from this shop, and my dad was gonna do the work. I pick up the radiator that was given to me after my receipt even said it was the correct part. I take it home to my father who tells me I have the wrong part. I take the part back and I ask for the correct part, dont forget Boneys gave me the wrong radiator. The lady behind the counter says that I will be charged a restocking fee for HER giving me the wrong part. I was younger, just starting out. And clearly at the time was struggling. Yet I had to pay for her mistake? I never forgot that incident. The restocking fee was paid before I could get the correct part. All off of HER mistake. And she did so with a smile. And although this review is years later. Glad to say I'm doing much much much better now living in Charleston. And I'd never take my business back to this company. Even if I was stuck in Wilmington while visiting my parents. Later.

Amazing family owned business that looked out for my family. While on vacation our water pump failed. They did the repairs the same day and got us back on the road. I would recommend anyone in the area to use them for all your auto service needs. This is a rare place today, honest reliable repair shops are hard to find. Trust me. Just want to say the people that work at Bonny’s are very honest people. My wife lost her wallet and passport a few years back and come to find out she lost them in her Jeep we traded in. While the Jeep was being repaired by Bonny’s, they found the items and contacted us. Bonny’s employees stated there were $60 in the wallet. I told them to keep the money and mail the items. Them being good samaritans, states “no”, we will mail everything we found. I really appreciate good hearted people during these times. Thank you Bonny’s.

To say Peggy and her staff are honest would be an understatement. Having had my radiator and water pump replaced there in the past two weeks, Peggy, Shane, Jay, and the rest of the staff are true to their word. When they give you an estimate, that is the price. No surprises. If they find something else wrong, they ask if you want it fixed instead of going ahead and doing it. Honesty and Trustworthy...two things sorely lacking with a lot of businesses.

I was traveling from out of town, 4 hours from home with a pet when our temp gauge broke. I called Boney's Radiator and Jay was so kind and understanding. My son was visiting Wilmington and his car overheated. He took it to one shop and they quoted him $1,200 for replacing his radiator and thermostat. Said both were bad. I called Boney’s and asked for a quote for the same work which was half the price. When my son took his car there, Boney’s tested the radiator and it was actually solid. They replaced the thermostat which was the only issue. Saved me $1,000. This shop is honest and does good work. 100% would recommend!!

Boney's Radiator Repair shop is a hidden gem. First, I must say that I have turned into a lazy mechanic. I had an idea of what was wrong with my car, but didn't want to do the extensive work or cause more damage. I had heard that great mechanics work at Boney's and decided to drop my car off for a coolant leak diagnostic test. I spoke with Peggy (the owner) who was so kind and helpful. The mechanic called me later and confirmed my initial thought and gave me a price. He assured me that he would have my car repaired before lunch the next day. My car was completed before lunch and without hidden cost. I HIGHLY recommend using Boney's for anyone who wants honest and professional radiator and coolant system work.

Boney's is simply awesome. I received several quotes from "competitors" that were outrageously over priced. Boney's not only offered a fair price, but they explained the problem, suggested various options and ultimately had the work done within a day. They even went the extra mile and added a few small enhancements to the repair to prevent it from happening again. They were also more than happy to install parts I sourced myself without any hidden "gotchas" - they were very upfront regarding the warranty in doing so. This place is very old school and I highly recommend it!
