After returning home from military orders, I took my jeep in to have the brake pads replaced and shortly after I got my vehicle back, i realized there were items missing. One of the technicians stole nicotine pouches and gum (things that could have been simply requested from me) nobody likes a thief no matter how small. I urge anyone coming to this location for service to take any valuables out of your car prior to service fulfillment.

Budget Brakes is absolutely the place to go. I wanted to get my brakes checked before a long drive and needed my brake fluid topped off. Extremely affordable. I was only there an hour. I made an appointment the day before and they took my car back right on time. Do not hesitate to bring your car here, they are very honest and trustworthy. I brought my car in on Thursday to have the brakes serviced. Steve, the salesperson, initially presented himself as knowledgeable and trustworthy. After inspecting my car, he informed me that I needed new brake pads (front and back), new rear rotors, and that the front rotors could be resurfaced. The quoted total was $850, which I agreed to without hesitation. The very next day, my steering wheel began shaking under braking. By Saturday, a loud clicking noise developed every time I applied the brakes. When I returned to the shop, Steve immediately insisted the issue was the ball joints, without even test-driving my car himself. He became very rude and argumentative, dismissing everything I said. My father, who has over 30 years in the auto industry, was on the phone during this conversation and agreed that Steve’s explanation made no sense. Only after I pushed for a test drive did Steve finally get behind the wheel. After a few stops, he went quiet and then abruptly offered to replace two rotors at no charge, essentially proving the original work was not done properly. While that temporarily solved the clicking, a new problem appeared today: a scrubbing sound every time I braked. I visited three independent mechanics to inspect my car, all of whom confirmed that the shop used extremely low-quality brake parts. The rear brakes already show groove lines after just a few days, highlighting the poor workmanship and substandard components. This experience has been unprofessional, frustrating, and unsafe. I paid with no hesitation and genuinely expected quality service, but instead received cheap parts, poor workmanship, and disrespectful treatment. I will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau so other consumers are warned and submitting pictures and videos that I have as the proof speaks for itself. Nobody deserves this treatment.

Mark is an excellent shop manager. I was delighted with the way customers were treated while I was waiting for my Jeep to get new brakes after 111,000 miles. Always courteous, listens to the customer to understand their issues. There was no pressure to buy anything you don’t need. Explained in detail what needed to be done on your vehicle. Today, I can say that they’ve made it right & totally fixed/changed what we were unhappy about last visit ! Also the new location is amazing ! Bigger, cleaner & more parking ! Brand new location was far from clean. Lobby was covered in dirt and the bathroom was pretty gross. I waited 1.5 hrs (with no water or coffee available) with only one other car there when I arrived. The quote was high and when I refused, they attempted to negotiate. Didn’t feel very trustworthy. He told me if I didn’t get rotors too, “there will be vibration”. Well, I didn’t get the expensive high quoted rotors and there is NO vibration. Be sure to do your study on your vehicle’s brakes first and be prepared to negotiate for the “budget”.

Friendly staff, was offered extra services, but not pushed into them. The inside of my door looked like a mechanic had been opening and closing it with dirty hands, and there’s a small rip in my driver seat like somebody sat with a tool in their back pocket, but my issue is fixed and I know what to watch for when the other side catches up.

Steve was professional and courteous. My brakes needed a lot of work. He called and let me know what work I needed done and the price. Brakes were finished within 2 hours. It was pricey but worth driving safely. On my second visit several months later the brakes were tightened and there was no extra cost to me.

I've had my used car for a couple of years and it was feeling like time for brakes to be checked. I went in, no appointment, busy day. They checked it out, said I needed fronts pads and rotors, but the back had a little life left if I needed to wait on those. I felt like the price was good and got all 4 rotors and pads replaced, went in about 10:45 left about 1:30. I'd say they were honest, upfront and fair with pricing.

I called around checking prices as I needed brakes pads and rotors for the front and back of my car. Prices ranged from $900-$2000. Ultimately, I felt the safest with budget brakes, especially after talking to Steve. He was very patient to explain everything and even showed me why my car was doing and making the sounds it was making. The day of the appointment he even called to make Sure, my time was still good as he knew my constraints with work. As promised, and with the help of Boogie, I was in and out and with the best pricing. I would highly recommend budget brakes in Murfreesboro. I’m currently rolling smooth!!

Beware getting service done here. Way overpriced. Attached is my invoice, was charged double for all parts, $50 per new rotor to put on, and 100 for brake caliper. I was told my old caliper could not be used, so not much choice. I questioned why the charges were so high 2x as much, the man told me that they had to keep the utilities ans building costs on, so they charge way more. The sign inside said 17%mark up no more than 29.99 total, that is incorrect. Seeing the other reviews, people dont realize they are getting way over charged, and made to believe they are being taken care of. 2 totors, 1 caliper, and brake pads, almost 800. Another person there was quoted 800 for all 4 rotors and pads,.. now I know why the parking lot was empty.
