I would genuinely drive over an hour to ensure my vehicles and I have the level of care that Carol and Charlie provide before even considering an oil change at another shop. Charlie is such a excellent car doctor, that I now feel the need to find a new doctor for myself to match Charlie's expertise and quality of care. I've only been to C&C twice (more than a year apart), and they treated me like family on both occasions despite meeting new front end staff each visit. Though their property/location may appear unassuming, the service you will receive is premier. Indoors, there is a small automotive-themed waiting area with ample seating, great A/C, a kids play area, and wifi access if you need to get work done or just need a place to relax while you wait. What really sets Charlie apart from other mechanics/technicians, is the way he will shine a light on every step of the process before moving on to the next step: he will respectfully listen to your full explanation of your needs, perform very thorough diagnostics, show you ON your car or ON the related parts what is causing an issues or sound you heard and he EXPLAINS in accessible terms exactly why that issue is present, what options there are to fix it, how urgent of a concern is is, and how to avoid having similar problems in the future. In addition to their great skill, customer service, and fair pricing, these folks even spend their free time giving back to the community in the form of voluntarily taking on major roles in large scale fundraising events including building a water trailer to help keep the participants safe and hydrated for the National MS Society's Bike MS event! Whether you want a trustworthy evaluation of a used-car you want to buy, need routine maintenance, or have a major repairs, you can trust C&C with your automotive needs. They seriously, seriously are one of the BEST small businesses I've ever encountered.

Excellent service! Charlie and team did an excellent diagnosing and repairing a brake issue on our 2003 Subaru. This issue was not resolved by 2 previous mechanics. We have found our mechanic in Durham. Charlie and staff are super nice and showed me what was causing the issue and the steps they took to repair it.

We had a mystery issue with our Grand Cherokee that the dealer could not figure out or repair. The Jeep would randomly shut off while driving which presented a significant safety issue. No check engine light or codes and the issue could not be replicated. We took it to C&C and they quickly diagnosed it with a faulty crank position sensor and the sensor was replaced for a very reasonable price. Two months later and 2500 miles clocked and no issues whatsoever. Due to the safety concern of shutting down while driving we were facing the reality that we may need to buy a new vehicle. C&C quickly fixed the issue and we are now driving with no worries. I highly recommend C&C for any automotive needs.

I was referred to C and C by a friend who had been a customer for many years. I went on behalf of a young mom with limited financial means & had some money for repairs that my church had donated. Charlie was kind and honest. He charged a fair price, spend a considerable amount of time teaching the owner how to maintain & check her car. He fixed only what was necessary for her safety and wrote out a plan for her of what to watch for, what to fix next, & what maintenance would be required in the future. Charlie & his wife Carol are gems!

The service and advice I received from this shop was top notch, professional, helpful and friendly. One of the technicians knew what some of the issues and problems were going on with my vehicle within fifteen minutes of driving it. Probably less. I never leave reviews but I am today because Charlie is the absolute best. I found him when I first moved to Durham a couple years ago and he's been nothing but incredibly helpful. Having grown up with motor savvy brothers and never needing a mechanic, I was hesitant to outsource my problems :). He takes the time to not only diagnose issues but then explain what's going on, which I really value, and is very fair with his prices. Aside from Charlie, everyone who works at this shop is friendly and helpful, from the folks at the front desk to other mechanics working in the garage. I'll come here for as long as I live within 100 miles!

Carol & Charlie were two of the sweetest people I have ever met. I was heading back home after graduating college and about 40 minutes into my 8 hour drive my car felt like it was going to explode. I called and spoke with Charlie and explained to him my situation. As soon as I arrived Charlie put my car on the lift immediately. He fixed the joint that was causing the issue. He made sure to walk me through every step and teach me about what was wrong with my car. He even pointed out other issues to get fixed when I got home. Instead of waiting to get the part delivered Charlie was kind enough to pick the part up himself because he wanted to make sure I got back on the road as soon as possible. After my car was diligently worked on, Charlie and another employee test drove it to make sure the car was safe for my trip home. Carol and I chatted the entire time and she even gave me snacks for my trip home. Cannot thank them and their explorers enough for the great work and hospitality! I highly recommend them to anyone. Most kind, caring & helpful people.

'Crazy' Charlie & his crew are wonderful to work with. He's honest & his customers become just like his team, we become family. He explains repairs needed in a way that is easy to understand & he gives you choices. Lastly, but certainly not least, Charlie is a Christian man & his runs his business the way he lives his life, as a Godly man. He reminds me a great deal of my uncle who had his own shop prior to his death, he was also a Crazy Charlie. I highly recommend C&C Auto on Wolfpack Dr for all of your Auto Repair needs (& a prayer or two as well).

This automotive place was not my original choice, but we scheduled an appt two weeks back for an oil change, because it's one of the few places you CAN schedule an oil change. From beginning to end, this was an absurd endeavor. The appt I scheduled? They had no knowledge of it. The oil change? Because it was the first oil change there, they had to charge extra to examine the car thoroughly for anything it might need, they said. It was required, they said. It would be $172 taxes included, they said. I had to pause at that cost, but because my spouse chose this place, I assumed he knew the cost and found it reasonable. Still, I sent him a message and gave them the go ahead. The time it took wasn't bad, and they had a play area for children, both of which earned a star that would otherwise have left the lowest rate I've ever left before. The oil change took about an hour and a half. That's not bad for being fit in after my appt was apparently lost. When I got up to pay, the charge was nearly $190. Because they took it for a test drive, so they added that. According to the front desk, at least. The paperwork said the extra charge was due to using supplies. So I spent nearly $200 for an oil change, and while we do use the Good Oil, it ain't THAT good. When I asked how much the next oil change would be, the front desk said it would cost about the same. The changing information, the additional work they did without my input, and the failure to keep it to a simple oil change are why I will absolutely not go back. I strongly felt taken advantage of, and they treated me as though I didn't know anything about my car (untrue, I do most of our car care). It made me angry, and it absolutely cost them our future car care. I felt others should be warned of these scammy practices, hence my review. If you haven't been there before, beware. They upsell and over charge as much as they can get away with.

The only reason Charlie get's a five on this review is there was no 10. My car acted up this summer with multiple lights going off at the same time. I took it to Charlie because he was my sister's mechanic. He took the time to look at it and get me back on the road safely. When it was time for repairs he checked it out and gave me a list. He told me what could and could not wait. His prices were fair and he scheduled the service around when I could get the car in. His staff explained everything and did not fix things that did not need to be fixed. Charlie is a rare find in this world. A HONEST MECHANIC, WHO LOOKS OUT FOR HIS CUSTOMERS! I can't say enough good things about this place.

I would not recommend this shop based on my experience. A friend of mine was recently charged $2,800 for brake work (rotors and calipers) on a 2015 Dodge pickup truck. In my opinion, that price is extremely high for the services performed. Customers should be very cautious, request a detailed invoice, and get multiple estimates before agreeing to repairs. Transparency and fair pricing are important, and this situation raises serious concerns.
