I wish I could give more stars. I've been going to C & R for about a year. They have always given me the best possible service with a smaller bill than the typical garage. What impresses me most though is their integrity and character. You can't buy that. I was having my car inspected and an issue with the wiper blades being replaced caused a small crack in the brand new windshield. When I brought it to their attention, they didn't even blink and got me in right away to fix it on their dime. I suspect most other garages in town wouldn't have provided for such an outcome. Richie, Kim, and Sam put me at ease immediately when I showed up flustered that my brand new windshield had been cracked. Everyone is wonderful to deal with, but C & R takes it up a notch further and provides atypical character and integrity that you just don't find today. Thank you.

called got a price to swap differential and install 2 new axles. Made appointment and took to them this morning thought all was gonna be good. Got call this afternoon to tell me it's too big a job (basically) and don't have time or room to do it. This is not how you service your customer. Day wasted and still don't have my car fixed.What a awful business, will never come back or refer anybody to go here.

First of all, I want to say that I had a routine clutch kit replacement on a 2011 Subaru Forester. C&R Transmission was a great choice from the get-go. First of all, their estimate was lower than most of the other shops I called with the exception of AAMCO (where the price was within $20). Richie was extremely helpful and attentive, giving me a quick estimate, being honest with me about the fact that he needed to do a little research into my car to see if I had a dual mass flywheel or not, and giving me plenty of advice and options to save me money. I opted to have him turn my flywheel, upon his recommendation, which is something that most shops refuse to do. He then told me the job would take two days and allowed me to schedule an appointment. Everyone I talked to on the phone was extremely professional. I dropped the car off on a Thursday, expecting to have it back Friday night. Thursday evening I called to see if they had a chance to look at it, where I was told they didn't get a chance to work on it that day. I was worried I wouldn't have a car for the weekend but the following day Richie called and told me that he was going to do everything in his power to get the car done on Friday so I could have my car back on the weekend. He then called me near the end of business and said everything was done. Very happy with their quality and professionalism and would highly recommend this shop for all your transmission needs!

Another shop drained my transmission fluid and overfilled my oil. C&R fit me in and quickly remedied the situation and literally saved my households jobs (We are a one car family). They were more than reasonable priced, polite, helpful and I can’t thank them more. It’s my new first call for every automotive issue and maintenance.

Me and my wife were down to just a rental after I got rear ended in front of my work and her car's radiator died within a week, we bought a used pathfinder and it developed a wheel issue once we got it into town from Richmond and Richie and the guys got us in immediately knowing we were desperate and lived far away with 3 ppl needing to get to work everyday, our garages In Schuyler are always backlogged but C N R, a neighbor to our own small business, our salon (color factory) got us in and fixed so we could roll again. Super responsive and helpful and good pricing, in my 41 yrs I've never known a better garage to take your vehicle to. They really saved us with no exaggeration. It's definitely our goto garage for cville.

Rich and his crew are honest, how refreshing. Trustworthy, professional, and find and fix issues in a timely manner . Replaced a transmission in my 2015 Silverado, and she runs like a top. We have used his business for many years and will continue to do so. Highly recommend

I helped a friend find a mint condition BMW with low mileage and we took it here for an oil change. They clearly damaged the car, including denting the roof and wouldn’t take responsibility for the damages. The car was literally in perfect condition and a simple oil change damaged this beautiful BMW. I do not recommend the shop for service.

I came here to get my oil changed and ended up leaving with a dent on the roof of my car. My vehicle has never been lifted or serviced anywhere else since I bought it, and there was absolutely no damage before I brought it in. The dent clearly happened while they were working on it, likely when lifting the car or hitting the ceiling. Unfortunately, the security cameras do not cover that area, so I was told “there’s no proof” and they denied any responsibility. As a woman, I felt dismissed and not taken seriously. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience. I do not recommend this place.

We took our car in for an inspection & and oil change. We needed 2 new tires to pass inspection (I already knew this). They were able to put the 2 new tires on at a cost less than 1 tire from the dealership! The total price for everything they did, was less than the dealership wanted to charge us just for 2 tires! They kept me updated on everything throughout the day, and had the car ready sooner than expected. This is the most affordable, honest shop I've ever dealt with. They've earned a customer for life!

This is the only place I trust to bring my car. The staff is always incredibly kind and extremely knowledgeable. I almost always get my car in and out in one day! It's a bit out of the way for a drive, but it's 100% worth it. They will do exactly what you ask them to, no more, no less. No extra fees that are tacked on "because it was something that needed to be done", nor do they bring up un-problematic things for extra money. They never have a problem with answering questions and never patronize you for asking. I always describe a random problem and Buck immediately tells me what the issue likely is and says he'll look into it. Best place in Cville for cars, I highly recommend!
