The staff was very courteous and helpful. I was having difficulty with my air conditioning not cooling adequately. My car was diagnosed and repaired promptly( within 65 minutes). The mechanic was very thorough and knowledgeable. The price was just right. I highly recommend this service to all.

After going to 2 different shops previously, my tires were still not balanced nor aligned properly causing a lot of shaking while driving. We then came to Cape Fear Automotive and I am so grateful. They finally got my alignment correct and the shaking is no longer!! Their customer service is top notch and took the time to explain everything. They did not try to take advantage or sell extra stuff. Will definitely be a returning customer. Thank you!!!!

I can't say enough good things about my experience at this shop. The first place I took my car for an a/c diagnostic wasn't able to do it due to my car taking the newer, more expensive 1234 freon. The price I was quoted at the first shop while assuming I needed less expensive freon was astronomically higher than what I just paid at Cape Fear Automotive even with the newer freon. They stay up to date and were able to diagnose my a/c and fill it with freon which was something I had been told by a couple of places that only the dealership would be able to do. Billy was personable and professional as were the 2 other gentlemen I spoke with. I had an appointment and was in and out in a very reasonable amount of time. I have been looking for a good, honest place to work on my car ever since losing my dad 8 yrs ago who was a mechanic and handled all my repairs. I'm so relieved I've found this place. I feel 100% comfortable bringing my car to them for anything going forward.

Saved hundreds of dollars based off quoting out a break job with several different auto shops. Selected Cape Fear Automotive after speaking with Allison and Kyle. They were able to schedule me a few days out and were right on time with their estimated time to completion. I am pleased with how well they communicated start to finish, and the work that was done. Went in to get an inspection. No lights on my dashboard. Had to get my tire replaced my vehicle came back out with the dashboard lighten up. Came out with all 4 tire sensors “Dead”

I was referred here and thought I would receive great treatment but I was wrong. I have a Pontiac G8 2008. My car has been kept in good condition. I was refused service and when I asked why, the lady at the front desk informed me because my car was too old. Very rude and left me high and dry.

5 stars. The customer service is excellent. I brought my 2015 Ford Explorer in for a seat belt replacement & they did a quick & efficient job! They are super flexible when scheduling appointments & the pricing is fairly reasonable. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to work on your vehicles but I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my automotive care. Thanks again!

Cape Fear Auto did a top-notch job on putting my timing belt on my Honda Bill the mechanic checked the bulletins from Honda themself and realized that the timing belt kit that he had ordered didn't have the right part so he ordered another one and it still didn't have the right part so he called me and said hey man I don't feel comfortable putting this back together without the shim the bulletin points out it is going to be overnighted and completed in the morning I said bill I understand take your time and do it right they had it put back to together within the time they said they would have it put back together five stars for Bill

These guys are great - they were referred to us by Power Swain who did our body work. Cape Fear Auto is almost a one stop shop from Inspections to seat mechanisms. They are fast, accommodating, and take both walk-ins and appts. You won't be disappointed!

I began taking my beloved Jeep Cherokee to Cape Fear Automotive around 2020 when I moved to Fayetteville. Finding a mechanic is always a stressful event when you aren’t very knowledgeable about cars but right away I felt comfortable asking the guys at Cape Fear questions because I was given honest answers. They don’t try to upsell you or get you to pay for expensive, unnecessary repairs. In January 2025 I moved two hours away from Fayetteville but continued taking my car all the way here because they simply are the best. They have the best prices, are honest and friendly and they always tried to work around my schedule, knowing that I would sit there and wait for my car before making the two hour drive home. Today, I had to take my car to a different mechanic in my own town because it wouldn’t start and received an insane quote. I wasn’t sure what to do and felt like I wasn’t being told the truth. I called Cape Fear Automotive and Billy talked through the issue with me, looked up the parts and discussed my options. He did all this knowing I can’t get my car to him to give him the business - he’s just that honest of a person who wants to help people! I will continue taking my vehicles to Cape Fear Automotive and couldn’t recommend them more!! They’re the only place to go if you are in Fayetteville or the surrounding area!!!!
