Carter’s Automotive is excellent! They are a very honest shop with highly experienced mechanics. They aren’t going to sell you something or provide a service that is unnecessary just for the sake of making a profit off you. It’s the most honest place in East Cobb. I got my clutch and flywheel changed over there. Excellent service as well as customer service, super nice & honest people. I’m very happy with the way my car drives now, my car got its power back. Highly recommend! I’m never going to another shop again, not even for a basic oil change. I’ve been to other shops like BP and others, they lie to you to make a dollar and scare you into getting something done that you don’t need just so they can make money off you. It’s a lot of fear mongering at most of these other locations.

This was my first visit to Carter's. My 2012 Avalon needed a 60K service. I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment on the same day. I was promptly and courteously greeted by Dave, and my car was taken into the garage soon after my arrival. The waiting area is comfortable with coffee and a big screen TV. Dave was very friendly and genuinely enjoys meeting and talking with people. My car was done within an hour or so, and I am very satisfied with the work they performed. I highly recommend this shop, and will definitely be bringing my family cars here for service.

This is the best service you can get! I’ve been taking my car to Carter’s for a few years and will never go anywhere else. I remember after the first time I took my car to them, I took a few of their business cards and started handing them out to family/friends because I was so impressed with them and wanted everyone to know about them! As a college female, I am extremely skeptical when mechanics try to convince me into getting hundreds of dollars of work done. Carter’s has always been so good to me, recognizing that I’m a broke college student and therefore they never pressure me into unnecessary and expensive fixes that my car can do without. They are so good at explaining the urgency or ability to wait a little longer before having certain things worked on. This shop has the most honest, down to earth employees who give the best customer service. Please take my advice and take your car to Carter’s! You will not regret it.

We are long time happy customers of Carters...general maintenance etc at fair prices, friendly people, and terrific service. But this week we experienced SERVICE BEYOND TERRIFIC. A strange noise when I tried to start my Camry sent me straight to Carter s for help. In 10 min, they diagnosed the problem (Whew! It wasn't the starter as I feared). In one-half hour (or less), I drove out with a new battery, blown away by these guys service!!! Go see them. They re THE BEST!

I have been a loyal Carter’s customer for over 4 years. We have 4 cars in our household and seem to always have one issue or another in addition to regular maintenance needs. Carter’s continually provides a quick turnaround on exceptional work at a fair price. These guys are so honest ALL THE TIME! They have never tried to sell me a service or repair that I didn’t need and have always been willing to diagnose any issues I have had and given me great advice along the way. Most recently they fixed an electrical glitch at my request that was driving me crazy and when my son’s car had a transmission issue they referred me to a transmission expert that was equally fair and honest. I am so incredibly grateful for the high level of customer service that I receive along with the exceptional and quality work. Highly recommend!!

Carter's was highly recommended by several people across multiple East Cobb/Marietta Facebook groups - and now I know why. Long story short, my car was doing "something funny" and while my car-savvy husband tinkered on it a bit, we knew we needed to take it to true professionals. From the time I booked my appointment through the time I picked my car up, they were friendly, professional, communicative, and informative. The were conservative in their approach and offered us options. Oh,and they didn't judge me for how long I let my car go without an oil change (personal issues caused a serious delay). I went to get some things done on my car today. I have never been to Carter's before but I was recommended by a friend. I always am skeptical of repair shops. But I have to say, the folks at Carter's were not only extremely friendly, they were knowledgeable, truthful,, skilled and very professional. they will be my go to from now on. I called and made an appointment to bring my 2011 Honda civic LX to check a shake and noice it was making in the front. I was a first time customer. I left it there the night before and was told they would take a look at it the following morning. The following morning came and went and I never got a call. Called them at the end of the day for an update and was told by David that they didn’t get to my vehicle because I didn’t make an appointment. Told him I did, he checked and realized I did and said oops and apologized. Not the end of the world as I understand mistakes happen. They checked the car and provide me a list recommended repairs via text message that came out to about $2k. I responded back via text message to please proceed with the repairs and to also do a transmission drain and fill since my vehicle was reaching 200k miles. Get a message that the vehicle was ready. Picked it up after hours and checked the invoice when I got home. The transmission drain and fill was not done. Oops again. I drove my vehicle around for a bit and I will say that it does drive about 90% better than when I brought it in so I do appreciate that. However, I am still experiencing a little bit of the same shaking while accelerating problem.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought my car here because it wouldn’t start without being jumped off, and they immediately said it was the starter—charging me $750 for the repair. The car still had the same issue afterward. When I brought it back two days later, they claimed they ran everything tested good and told me it started 75 times for them, and insisted the battery was not the issue. Frustrated, I finally took it to my trusted mechanic in my home state. Within just two hours, he diagnosed the real problem: a faulty battery. Something this shop either missed completely or chose to ignore. This feels like a clear case of poor diagnostics and being overcharged for unnecessary repairs. As a young woman, it’s hard not to feel like I was taken advantage of. I left $750 poorer with zero confidence in their honesty or mechanical skills. Save yourself the frustration and take your car to a reliable auto repair shop instead.

My daughter had a terrible experience with Carter's Automotive, after a friend recommended them for a car that seemed to have a battery issue. On August 11, the shop misdiagnosed the problem, charging her $700 for a starter that could have been purchased for much less, only for the same problem of needing a jump start to reappear the very next day. When she brought the car back on August 15, specifically mentioning her suspicion that the battery was the problem, their solution was to simply crank the car 75 times, declaring it fixed when they didn't encounter an issue. The problem predictably returned the next day, and when she called to seek a resolution, she was met with dismissive and unprofessional behavior, especially due to her being a female. This ordeal highlights severe issues with the shop's diagnostics, customer service, and their failure to resolve a simple issue despite charging a high price. When we took the car to our trusted local shop, we notified them of the ongoing issues and our suspicion that it was a battery problem all along. A quick, competent inspection confirmed our doubts and exposed Carter's Automotive's incompetence: the car simply needed a new battery, which cost a fraction of the $700 they charged for an unnecessary starter replacement. This final revelation of their misdiagnosis, expensive repair, and disregard for a customer's input underscores a profound lack of integrity and expertise. It's a stark reminder that they took a $700 payment for a problem they failed to fix, while the real issue was a simple, affordable battery all along.

I had a very pleasant experience with Carters yesterday regarding a brake job. I requested specific brakes and Carters had to get them from out of town. Then, I was told they would arrive by noon and that I may have my car by 5 PM assuming the brakes arrived on time. To my surprise my phone rang at noon and Carters said I could pick up my car since it was ready. Obviously, the parts arrived early and I was pleased. Good job Jeff and a special thanks to Lindsey who found my specific brakes I requested.

Was a long term customer. Wont ever go back. Diagnostic prices are ridiculous and is like one sentence recommendation. Repair workmanship is a C at best. Go to AAA on sandy plains if you want a real diagnostic work, very comprehensive. Don't waste your time here. This place is circling the drain. Just look at reviews last few months
