Anyone looking for transmission repairs or even general repairs NEEDS to check out Certified. These guys are legit. Tracey and Brahda are the real deal. My AOD trans in my 1993 F-150 took a dump on me, lost drive and OD. Contacted Tracey and he took me right away. And just like that, boom....repairs done right. These guys have decades of experience, technical knowledge, and skills. Honest work at an honest price. So forget rays, kiyos, all trans, and anyone else. Certified is gold in my book. Here’s my story about this business. First of all, absolutely amazing service. A while ago my engine light came on, (2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, 42,000 miles) then it went off, then it went on. I went to Artesian Auto, which is the best mechanic shop on the island. Aaron is the shop manager. Nicest, most polite guy I’ve ever met. He tested my engine and saw it was something with the transmission. He recommended I call a place called Certified Transmission Differential. I called and Tracey answered. I told him my symptoms. He was straight to the point and said he has been in business for 40 years and bet everything it was my torque converter. I told my Wife and she said she would feel more comfortable taking it to the Dodge dealership. So I honored that and took it there. $204 dollars for a diagnostic, and they said…you guessed it…torque converter is bad. Here’s the difference between them and CTD: 1) dodge was going to put a refurbished torque converter (that’s fine, doesn’t have to be new, just fixed??) into the van, slap it in and call it a day, $2900. Nice, thank you Dodge for giving me another problem in about 30-40k miles. Dodge offers a 2 year, 24k warranty. 2) Tracey has a guy who personally rebuilds them and has for about the entire 40 years he has been in business, they never break, AND they add the updated OEM parts to it so it will last as long as a torque converter SHOULD ACTUALLY LAST, which should be about 120,000 miles (or more!) Oh, and Tracey charged me $1361.00. Why? Because it costs x dollars to get the part AND have it built properly and stuff, plus the rate of work on it. He can do things faster and more efficiently but he’s honest and only charges for the work he does because HE LOVES HIS JOB. Oh, and he didn’t have to, cause he said I wouldn’t need it, but for my Wife’s peace of mind, he gave us a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty. Problem is we are moving off island. He told me it won’t break, but IF something happened, he would ship me the part free shipping for me, and I would just take it into someone else. Awesome. So there you have it. These guys are dependable and unbelievably fair, where pricing is concerned. I cannot see myself using another differential shop as long as these guys are on Oahu. My vehicle is foreign and frankly, a pain in the *ss, and nobody ever wants to work on it. Tracy was not only up for the challenge, but he delivered. I picked my car up a month ago, and it has been nothing but smooth sailing. No slippage. No problems. No concerns. If you are having clutch or transmission issues, I urge you to give these guys a call. You will be so glad you did.

A very reputable shop referred me to Certified for transmission work, so I took my Explorer to this guy. Owner can't or doesn't want to deal with extended warranty companies and was not willing to take on the challenge. Long story short, he held on to my car for more than 4 months and only called the extended warranty company twice while he had it sitting in his lot. I wouldn't recommend taking any car to him. I ended up going to Hawaii Transmission on Sand Island Access Road who has over 30 years of experience as well as taking on extended warranty companies.

Eh, gotta give props and mahalos to Tracy at Certified Transmission Differential. Had my Chevy Silverado towed in 'cause transmission had no forward gears and Tracy made quick work of the rebuild. Truck is running smooth now, no slippage or issues. Plus, price was cheaper than I thought it'd be. If you need transmission work, this place gives fast, friendly service at a fair price. Normally I’m not one to leave reviews, and this is actually my first time ever posting one on Google — but I HAD to share our experience because integrity like this is rare nowadays. My husband and I had been dealing with a persistent noise during deceleration in our 2011 Toyota Camry for over a year. We took it to several shops, spent a few thousand dollars fixing “issues” that turned out to be unrelated, and still had the same problem. We eventually figured out it was coming from the transmission — yikes! We went to another transmission shop (which I won’t name), and after multiple visits and some shady back-and-forth, they quoted us $9,500 for a replacement transmission and wanted $6,000 down just to order it. Weeks later, they claimed the transmission was “lost in shipping” and offered to rebuild it for nearly the same price. Something just didn’t sit right with us. I am so grateful for Tracy. I’ve been having a strange leak with my 2009 Tacoma for a while, turns out it was my transmission hose. I was quoted 800 dollars in town and called around looking for a second opinion. He picked up, met me the same day and was very flexible with when I was able to bring the car in to fix the hoses for 3/4 of the price. I very highly recommend Certified Transmission Differential. I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee Jeep that began making noises from the rear differential area. The grinding noise became so noticeable and concerning that I had it towed to Windward Jeep dealership. The vehicle stayed there for 5 weeks, a estimated repair bill of approximately 7 thousand was provided to me, however I was told the repairs could not be made as the Jeep parts distribution could not provide the necessary parts. The exact problem that needed repair could not be provided to me, and I subsequently had the vehicle towed again, with a 1000 dollar diagnostic bill and no repairs. I towed my vehicle to Certified Transmission and met with Tracy. Within a matter of 3 days Tracy had diagnosed the problem and repaired it for 477 dollars. Tracy displayed a tremendous amount of knowledge and skill, and professionalism. An honest broker for sure!
