5 gold stars! I got rear ended on Kinau waiting at a red light. Guy behind me had faulty breaks? Anyway went to Basic Auto on Umi street for an estimate on repair. Christine was extremely friendly and sympathetic to my situation. She explained everything in great detail and answered all my questions. I was relieved and confident in Teddys capabilities in repairing my car. Christine met with my insurance rep and they handled the details of cost. I was going off island for 2 weeks and dropped off car the morning of my flight. Christine was so kind and dropped me off at the airport! 2 weeks later I arrived back from the trip. Tadah! My car looked good as new. Job well done. She had the boys detail the car all shiny to match the new bumper. Bonus! Thank you so much Teddy and Christine! I'm very picky about body work and their job exceeded my expectations. Christine went above and beyond as far as I am concerned. I am telling all my friends and family to see Christine for all their auto needs.

Worst experience ever. Basic had told me the wait for my parts would be a while because I have a brand new model vehicle. I understood and was fine with waiting a few months. It is now 1 year later and they never fixed it every time I would call they would say they have to call back and that the part was still on back order until they finally just stopped calling back.This customer service is terrible and I would highly recommend not using the shop.

I made the mistake of bringing my car in here. Christine is a nightmare and I am going to escalate things. She came recommended by BMW dealership so I thought I was in good hands but she ended up not even installing my bumper on right and she had it for a month. When I went back to her she and a mechanic swore it wasn’t the work they did but the trunk was screwed up. Long story short: a third party shop confirmed the bumper wasn’t latched in. It’s been a lot of back and forth with the insurance company. You will not get a straight answer from her and she talks like she’s being recorded or she’s recording you. She is refusing to warranty her work and is pretending like she’s being reasonable and I’m not. She’s very deceptive and doesn’t want anyone on the property while she is working on your car. If for some reason you do get work done here make sure you don’t sign anything over to her, like checks from the insurance company. Make sure you inspect everything thoroughly and file a complaint with Hawaii DCCA and the BBB and BMW Corporate. People like her fly under the radar because people don’t post what happens so no one knows. She says she’s been in the business for over 40 years but doesn’t know how to install a simple bumper. Stay away!

Basic Auto Collision was truly a blessing. Christine, the manager, and Christopher communicated with me throughout the whole process from the time before I dropped my car off until they finished repairing it. They were transparent about the repairs, timeline, and walked me through on everything they were going to do with my car. I came in super stressed out having to go through an accident and then some bad experiences from another repair shop in Kakaako that was a complete nightmare. They did a great job communicating with my insurance adjuster and the Toyota Parts distributor. They were accommodating to my timeline and did an excellent job with the repairs. The paint job on my brand new car (pearl white) was clean and looked the same as when I bought it from the dealership. Communication is so key when it comes to these kinds of things. The last thing you want is to chase down the repair shop on status updates and not getting called back. Who has time for that? Christine and Christopher kept me in the loop and updated me weekly so I could go to work with peace of mind knowing my car was being taken care of. Within two weeks of dropping my car off, they had it fixed and ready to go. I will only go to them from now on and recommend everyone I know to them.
