took toyota tacoma 2017 truck in for oil change and 40K check up. work done and paid for ... nov 4, 2020 nov 25,202- exactly 3 weeks to the day truck would not start. found another repair shop who evaluated and determined battery would not hold change and needed to be replaced. a normal check up- all my life - has involved an evaluation of the status of the battery- how much "life " is left in it... i would say this was not done the result: paid over $506 total to have correct work done.

After three visits with three older vehicles, I've come to trust C.A.R.. Ben could easily have oversold me on repair work for a noise issue with my old truck; instead, he drove around with me for 15 minutes until it got warm enough to hear it and diagnosed it. He told me exactly what it was, informed me when to tell if it became a serious issue (which he didn't think it would), and--being a 20 year-old truck I don't use much--advised me that fixing it would be unnecessary and a bit expensive, then just sent me on my way. Who does that?! That was 2 years ago. Just like he said, the issue never got worse. Saved me a ton where less scrupulous mechanics could have taken advantage of a worried guy who loves his old truck.

Expect to pay a diagnostic fee around $200. I spoke to someone who I assume is the owner. I asked if the diagnostic charge would be applied to the overall job, I was told maybe. I decided to not use this business because the cost was so arbitrarily set, high, and not very transparent.

$200 to get the problem with my AC problem diagnosed and an estimate that does not go towards the service of the AC. This price was not disclosed when scheduling. When I arrived, Ben had a woman sitting on his lap in his office. Not my business, but not professional and overpriced. They got me in quickly which was nice, but I’ll never come back here.
