Cooks has been so great at getting my vehicles together. Changed my brakes for a very reasonable price. They also diagnosed my transmission (needs replaced) but gave me my options and advice on the matter. Most recently they are fixing my coolant line which just broke apart while I was driving. I'm very grateful to have such a reliable mechanic in the area that I can trust. I never feel like they try to oversell me and appreciate the explanations they provide to a non car person like myself.

Cook was absolutely wonderful to work with. I called around for quotes on getting my front brakes replaced, as well as an oil change. They had fair prices and were very kind and professional on the phone. The person I spoke with was knowledgeable and informative about the repairs and prices. They were able to get my truck in that evening, had the diagnostic ran by early morning and I had my truck with all the repairs within 24 hours. Even though I brought my truck in for brakes, they did a full check on fluids and function. They presented their findings and offered their services, but were never pushy or rude. I will definitely be returning again with all of our family vehicles when they need service. Thank you Cook Automotive Repair!

Cook Automotive Repairs front office staff was friendly and knowledgeable and kept me informed of the progress of my repair. The quality of my repair was excellent, was performed within a reasonable amount of time and at a fair and reasonable price. The shop appeared well kept and peaceful at the times of my visit.

They did a great job on my alignment but somehow turned that job into 4 hours of labor totaling $375. Very careful with my car per my request and they did get the wheels perfectly flush as I requested. Absolutely insane price for an alignment though regardless of the specs requested. I asked for minimal camber (-2.5 and -1) and a toe correction (0 & 1/16). They barely had to touch the front suspension from its original specs and they claimed 2 alignments would have to be done to get it right. A service manager called me and told me the original quote of $135 would more than likely be $300 after seeing how much alignment would have to be done and that they wouldn’t charge me any more over that. I get to the shop and I’m totaled up for $420. After arguing with them about how ridiculous it is to charge that much for an alignment they brought it down to $375 for classic car labor rate which was better, but still absolutely ridiculous. It should not take 4 hours for an alignment unless you’re really getting meticulous about a track car setup.

I was in a bind and on my way to the airport in Columbus, Ohio when the undercarriage protection plastic piece dropped down from my car. They took my car in immediately, reattach the bolts and got me on the road within 20 minutes with no charge. I can’t say enough good

My wife has a Chrysler Pacifica. She took her car to get an oil change at the dealership and the service manager there told her that she needed her brakes replaced IMMEDIATELY! They quoted her a ridiculous price for the front and back brakes. Someone recommended cooks to get her brakes repaired. We dropped off her mini van and told them that we needed the brakes replaced. They called us back 1 hour later and told us her brakes were absolutely fine and didn’t need any replacing. It’s tough to find an honest place and these guys proved to us that they are honest. We will be using them from now on for ANY service that we will need in the future.

I have only had bad experiences at Cook. Not only are they money hungry, they don't actually fix what is wrong with your vehicle. Their customer service is extremely sub par, and they nickel and dime you every chance they get. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I was having trouble with my car on a day I needed to travel. They got me in right away. The customer service was excellent. They were kind and explained things well and fixed the problem quickly. I had a great experience and definitely recommend them!

I came here after becoming suspicious that I'd been taken for a ride by another local repair shop on a routine brake job. Suspicions were confirmed, thanked them for their time, and said I'd be back the next time one of my vehicles needed service. Three trips later and getting ripped off was almost worth it, I'd not have found these guys otherwise. Excellent and prompt service, more than reasonably priced, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff as well.

They were very friendly and informative despite my annoying follow up calls. They were very thorough checking into my problem and gave me quotes for what I needed, what was recommended, and even some parts that were showing wear to watch for. There was no pressure to get work done that I didnt need or even some of the recommended items i chose not to get. They diagnosed, repaired and returned my car in record time. I will use them again.

Should be Crook Automotive not Cook. They give you a price and fail to mention the labor costs. And are extremely rude when you question the invoice! This was my first, last and only experience with these guys. Will never go back and will definitely advise others not to.

Upon recommendation from a friend, I called Cook Automotive for an estimate on front and rear breaks. Their quote was half of what my dealership quoted. Their front desk staff, including Drew, were friendly, respectful, informative and honest. They greeted me at the door with a smile, a few minutes before opening. When I told them the dealership stated I absolutely needed a break fluid flush, they checked the break fluid first, called me and stated the fluid was good and I did not need that extra service/charge. I truly felt they were looking out for my best interest. I appreciate that type of quality customer service. I will consider driving the 45 minutes from out of town for my next repair. Thanks Cook Automotive!

I notice and have heard nothing but good reviews from the community, but mine and my family’s experience has been nothing but the opposite. We’ve taken a couple cars in, and more often than not there’s some extra charge tacked on. Wanted to give these guys another chance for an (admittedly efficient) oil change, during which they mentioned an additional part would be beneficial. This made sense for me and my car at the time, so I bit. When I then came to pick the car up, I noticed about 30 seconds off the lot that my check engine light had now conveniently been showing. Nothing was mentioned to me about it when I was picking my car up. When I brought it to their attention, they acted confused that it wasn’t my original reason for bringing the car in. They then stated they would run a diagnostic and try and reset things, but that didn’t seem to work. When I asked for them to clarify the issue, they mentioned it had something to do with a busted fuel head (I don’t know cars and would like to be able to trust a shop but…), mentioned it would be $500 just for the part, and brought out a fast talking mechanic to add to the confusion. It wasn’t until I was outside calling a family member to share my frustrations, when an employee overheard and mentioned they’d take another look. They were then able to easily fix the issue, as something had simply been “knocked loose,” but that it couldn’t hurt to keep an eye on it. This was late summer/early fall. I haven’t had an issue with my car since, and now feels like the right time to follow up. To me, this seems like pretty straightforward deception, and I won’t be returning.

Took my car here for a second opinion after a dealership quoted me 6k of “necessary” maintenance for my car. They ran a diagnostic and for 12% what I was quoted at the dealership addressed the rattling noise on my car and did some simple maintenance on my car. Refreshingly honest. Lifetime customer from here on out.

They did an amazing job for a very reasonable price and they were quick. I knew what I needed and they were able to quote me over the phone with the clarification that if there were additional items or I was wrong with my diagnostic that the price could change. Super easy to work with very professional. We'll never go anywhere else

Highly impressed with Cook Automotive. Really fast service (less than 2 days) and great people to work with. Got towed there in the middle of the night after a highway breakdown, and they had a repair estimate by 9am. Got my car back the next day. If I didn't live an hour away I'd make them my permanent repair shop on a heartbeat.

WAY over priced. I had my car towed there and told them to only tell me why it wouldn't drive and that I'd probably be scrapping it if it was going to be expensive. Auto zone could have hooked it up to the computer and told me for FREE that it was my trans but they charged their "going rate " for diagnostics of $150. Big time rip off. How these guys can charge outrageous dealership prices and still be in business is beyond me. My advice is go to any other repair shop where they'll diagnose your problem for way, way, way cheaper

Attentive, knowledgeable, and honest. They had a mechanic looking at my Passat within an hour of its towed arrival as they said they would. Though the repair was long and complicated, the final bill was near the estimate. The labor costs are far less than the dealer and clearly stated on the estimate. The waiting room is clean. Everyone was friendly. This was my first visit to Cook. I will be back.

4 wheel alignment. Car was pulling to the right. They fixed that. It was off a bit, but also found that my R front tire had more tread than the L front, so they switched it to the back and the car drove perfect! Look ma, no hands! Drew and his chi workers were very helpful and kind. I did quite a bit of research for my car, 2023 Kia Forte, and Cooks was the least expensive by $40. It was only $79. Great price, service and a really great looking facility! I called places in Howell, Brighton and South Lyon. They were the best. Do yourself a favor, the next time you're calling around for pricing, make Cooks one of your calls. It can't hurt.
