The one star is not a reflection on the work they do. Instead, it is in regard to a comment Kevin made when asked about the pet boarding kennel across the street from them. I saw the kennel while with a friend having her car repaired, and asked if they knew anything about the people. I have 2 dogs, and go out of town from time to time. Kevin went on non stop about how crazy the lady was that ran the place. That she stands out in the middle of the yard and randomly screams all day. And that I could even ask their grass cutter, who won't work for them, and will validate that she is nuts. I was very concerned about the care the animals were receiving over there. Instead of calling Animal Control, I went over and talked to the lady. When I pulled up to the gate, I heard her call her dogs to come in because they were way across the yard, which is about an acre. After she opened the gate, I realized this was what Kevin was hearing. Well, this was the nicest, most caring person I have ever met. Her place was immaculate, and I would not hesitate for one second leaving my dogs there. During our conversation, I asked the lady if she knew anything about Covington Automotive. She had nothing but nice things to say about you. Kevin, you should be more than ashamed of yourself for intentionally slandering this lady's business. Oh, and in the future, I, and my friend, will be seeking auto repair elsewhere.

This shop is amazing, I live in Harahan but they were recommend by my daughter who lives in Slidell. I had my car towed there and they repaired my transmission and the price was lower than they told me. NO trying to upsell work, it was worth towing there. Would do it again and recommend them to anyone.

Dropped my car off last Friday. Replacing Clutch. He said he would have it done Tuesday. Friday afternoon I asked if he could repair my A/C. I knew he was extremely busy. If he wasn't able, no problem. He called me Monday, told me the problems, and still got it fixed with A/C and clutch, by Tuesday. Very professional, great prices, I compared, and completed the extras. I highly recommend Kevin and Covington Automotive Transmission, he will get all my business.

My car was towed to an automotive place nearby that was out of business so the tow company brought my car here to Covington automotive. I spoke with Kevin. They were backed up about a week but we're very helpful in helping me find another location to look at my vehicle. I live in Texas on my way to Mississippi so this help was tremendously helpful.

Never in my long life have I given a review of an auto shop. That's mainly because, while being run by nice people (usually), they've been less than stellar with my vehicles which makes me uber grateful for this place. Competent, non-gouging, organized, low-key. I sure hope they outlast my cars because I'm fairly certain I would not be able to find a replacement.

My family has a fleet of older cars that require various repairs occasionally. I have brought my cars to Covington Automotive for well over 20 years. They quickly diagnose and fix what ever is broken. They are very good at an accurate diagnosis. They are NOT just "parts changers" like some others who just replace parts until they get lucky and fix the problem at unneeded customer expense. Very reliable and fair pricing.

Had a great experience with these guys. Had some issues with an older vehicle. They did a full diagnostic and determined that the cost of the repair would be more than the car was worth. So I ended up not getting any of the work done, but they still didn't charge me for any of the diagnostic work. This shop came highly recommended from my regular shop and I can see why. Definitely recommend this shop to anyone that needs their transmission looked at. Customer service was excellent.

I think they might take walk-ins but they're usually booked out a week or more so might be best to call and check.
