Recently got an alignment here and the entire process was a breeze. Scheduled an appointment via text message which was great and super convenient. For me, the price was very reasonable compared to others in the area. I go here to get my inspections, too, so definitely recommended 100%!

Just great guys all around. I have had 3 of our cars worked on here and they are as fair and honest as they come. I even had a car ( old volvo) that needed more time and attention. Dave was great enough to find a Volvo tech and share with me. I feel safe sending the wife to them knowing that she will be treated with respect and treated right. Give them a try, and remember folks..."Price is what you pay, but Value is what you get".

Called for an estimate on front brakes and they were a lot less expensive than Meinke and a few other places. I took my car in on a Sat. morning and also requested an oil change. Expecting to be there for several hours I made sure I took a book. I was pleasantly surprised when after 1.5 hours (I know!), my car was ready to roll. Even better, when I went to pay the bill, I was told that there was a 10% discount on the brakes! You can't get any better than that!

Certec Automotive is the place to go for above ordinary service. I always receive fast, reliable and quality workmanship. Everything from routine oil changes to replacing the transmission on my Saturn VUE and brakes on my BMW is done with excellence and care. As a single mom, I can be assured of honest and fair pricing. I trust the integrity of this company wholeheartedly. Thank you for all you do!

10 stars. I'm not a car guy. At all. Like I told the tech at Certec today, I am the kind of person who likes putting the key into the ignition, cranking the car, and reaching my destination safely in it. That's the whole amount of thought I want to put into a vehicle. I imagine I'm not alone since there are all kinds of people in the world. If you're anything at all like me, you know you're getting ripped off by mechanics, but you don't know enough to stop it. If shady mechanics could, they would sell a flux capacitor to me since they know I likely wouldn't know enough to stop them. (I do know what this one is, by the way.) That's why I want to share this review. Certec isn't like that at all. They genuinely care, and even when I get basic facts about my car wrong, they still take me seriously. They care about my vehicle and its service, and they want to be honest and forthright in their dealings with me. I'm good at what I'm good at, but cars are not a part of that specialty. They understand and want to make sure my vehicle is well cared for while in their shop That kind of service and respect is hard to find these days, so this location is worth its weight in gold. Certec is where you want to take your car if you're a car moron like I am. They will not rip you off, will look you straight in the eye, and won't laugh if you have no idea what you're talking about. I've been taking my car to Certec for over a decade and have never, not once, left feeling like I had a bad experience. This is also where you want to take your car if you know a lot about them since the techs are going to listen to your concerns and treat you well. The guy next to me in line today had a question about a specialized antifreeze system in his car. When they told him they couldn't service it, the tech made recommendations for local places that could help. Again, they care about their customers and want to see their cars get the service they need. Their goal is solid customer service, and they far exceed that aim by many, many miles. No matter who you are and how much you know about cars, this is the place you want to take your vehicle for service in the Concord-Kannapolis area. I cannot recommend them enough.

I've used Firestone for 15 years but lately their prices have gotten out of control. I found CTR who did the same job for half the price and provided a military discount on top of that. I can proudly say, Jay, you got yourself a new loyal customer

Don't use this place. Overpriced and will lie to get a few extra bucks out of you. Had my mother get four new tires telling her that it wouldn't pass inspection unless they are replaced due to them being "hard". Two days later and the front tire is flat on her car. The tires she had were at least able to keep air in them. Crooks. They have also changed the oil in my wife's car and stripped out the drain plug and put locktite on it to hold it in place.

The guys at Certec did a great job on my 06 Corvette, I'm very picky on who I let work on it and they have earned my trust with other vehicles I have take to them in the past. Speedy service, friendly atmosphere and a fair price! If a project is too big for me to handle I'll definitely be back!

Jay was awesome I’ve been overthinking my car thought maybe the front end suspension was bad and they got me in to look at what I thought was wrong with my car and didn’t try to come up with something for me to fix and it’s so hard to find honest mechanics that don’t just wanna burn a whole in your pocket. Definitely recommend these folks

I cannot say enough good things about This garage. I called them yesterday. They got me in the next day. Repaired my work vehicle and got it back to me before 3 o’clock the next day. These guys did an amazing job. And Jay was amazing at assisting me to get things lined up for the repair. Thanks guys for all the help.

Jay and his team at CTR really came through for us during a stressful situation. We were driving from Philly to New Orleans when, at 8 PM on Christmas night, our car broke down on I-85 near Kannapolis. Not ideal, to say the least. The next morning, we had the car towed to CTR, worried about what was wrong and how we’d manage to get home. We drive a 2008 Suzuki SX4 AWD, and it turned out the rear differential had failed, locking the rear wheels—a potentially expensive and complicated fix. Being far from home with limited options, we were pretty anxious about what was ahead. Jay and his team were short-staffed (it was December 26th, after all), but they still made time to help us. They took a look at the car, did some research, and came up with a practical solution: remove the rear driveshaft, disconnect the CV joints, and leave the car as front-wheel drive. It wasn’t a perfect fix, but it was exactly what we needed to get back on the road quickly and safely. A couple of hours later, we were driving again. The car runs smoother now than it did before the breakdown, and we made it home the same day without breaking the bank. They only charged for labor, and it was very fair—at no point did we feel like they were taking advantage of us, even though they easily could have, given the situation. If you’re ever near Kannapolis and need help with your car, I highly recommend CTR. They were honest, resourceful, and got us back on the road when we didn’t have many other options. Thank you again, Jay and team!

They quoted half of what Mavis charged for a full (rear) brake job. But they also said my brakes were mechanically okay and didn’t push the sale. Overall, very kind and helpful staff!

Over priced And also found out they scratched up Glove box on the inside trying to look at it. But yet wanna call me to see if I will delete my rating. I got it there early in the morning after hours and hours and then telling me it needs 9 to 10 more hours to look around after it's been in there all day and after spending 200 something for them to dig in it all day and not fix or find anything there gonna tell me it needs 1300 more dollars for them to dig in it more.

I normally don’t do this but I have found that reviews are important. I recently got my car fixed here and like some of the other reviews the service initially was good, but pray they don’t run into any issues because the price goes up. They called me with a diagnosis and price the day I dropped it off. Told me they had to order a part it would be in the next day. Called me the next day after 2pm to say the catalog They ordered the part from was wrong and now the part won’t be here for another 3 to 4 days and it’s gonna cost me $70 more. All I asked is they keep the price the same because i budgeted for what was quoted the first and because now Im the one being inconvenienced. They would not and had a little attitude because I asked to speak with the manager about it. They never let me speak to them they just told me they heavily discounted the part already and couldn’t discount it anymore. So I was without my car longer and had to pay more. Not very good customer service.

Took my car "2015 honda accord" in for service due to a failing rear brake caliper, was quoted $645 out the door which ended up being $680 once everything was said and done. If you know anything about repairing automobiles or mechanics in general replacing two rotors, a brake caliper & a hose then bleeding the brakes shouldn't take anymore than an hour in experienced hands, two hours MAX if you get hung up on things. I checked multiple websites like rockauto, autozone, advanced auto, & other trusted source parts dealers none of these websites or shops quoted anything close to what we ended up paying and this was without any discounts or promotions added. Every option I looked at was priced at $200 or just above that for all parts that were replaced. This was with shipping and tax included on some sites as well. They charged us just shy of $400 for the exact same parts that’s double of what I found everywhere else. We paid $141 for a rear brake caliper. You can look on any of these sites listed and see that the price is double of what you would normally pay. You can get both rear brake calipers for less than that price quoted. When I called and asked why the pricing was so high I was responded with that's just the price, and then was told it's because my car is a sport model when in fact my accord is an LX model (Not a accord sport model). This just shows me pure incompetence when it comes to even VIN searching a vehicle to make sure they had the right make or model on top of asking the customer to verify the make and model of the vehicle. If you aren't a regular at this shop I would recommend you stay far far away from them because they will inflate prices and take advantage of you if you aren't mechanically inclined like they did to my wife. All of their bad reviews are from people who experienced the same thing my wife did which is incredibly inflated prices and high labor rates when it comes to the actual work done that's up in the air I'll add another review if their mechanic work is poor which I wouldn't be surprised since they didn't even have my car model correct and were working on it. Just for a point of reference last time we did a brake and rotor job we replaced all 4 rotors and pads with performance parts “drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic brake pads” for just over $400 out the door that includes parts and labor.

I took my Mustang Mach E to address a noise I was hearing from the back of the vehicle. Turns out that the Ford dealer had done some shoddy work a few months ago. The technician took pictures and explained everything. The prices are reasonable too. Great customer service.

My car broke down yesterday due to it having a bad starter. I called around and CTR was able to get me in right away, so I had my car towed there. They were able to fix it, and it was ready before 10 am the next day! Not only did they replace my starter for a reasonable price, but also gave me honest advice about the other oil issue which was the reason for the bad starter in the first place. Their honesty was much appreciated and these guys are knowledgeable at their craft. Would definately return for work here if I needed it in the future.(but hopefully not!) Thank you !!!

You WON’T Believe This One!… It’s a crazy rain storm, one of those when you can’t see a thing even though your wipers are high & I’m driving down I-85 with bald tires, WHEN… My driver’s side wiper breaks OFF! Completely! And it is lodged inside my hood! By the graces I made it off 85 at the next exit and drove down Roxie. I saw CTR and even though the sign said ‘Transmissions’ something told me, ‘it’s this or nothing’! I walked in, looking like a drowned cat and my stress level was so high, I’m not sure if I spoke in complete sentences as I explained. Jay didn’t think twice about jumping out in that storm! No coat, or umbrella, just said, “let’s take a look”. He didn’t chuckle (like many men do, when a flustered woman walks in) but treated me with respect and courtesy. Before I could make a phone call, it was fixed! And it was cheaper than a Starbucks Coffee! I knew right then, I’d be coming back, so I asked, “I see your sign says transmissions, but what else do you do here?” And Jay confidently replied, “We Do EVERYTHING But Body Work!” Well alright then! #integrity #everythingmechanic #mynewmechanic #ctr
