Demetrio and his staff fixed an ongoing problem with my Check Engine Light. This was preventing me from renewing my '99 Nissan's registration and tags. I had been taken advantage of as a long-time customer at another repair shop for weeks to the tune of $1,500. As it turned out, they had only been guessing after checking the codes, what to work on and kept stringing me along. I found Demetrio's work to be methodical, knowledgeable and he himself, a kind and honest businessman/mechanic. I was at my wits end when I saw a referral to him from one of the Japanese Auto repair shops and thought why not, after looking at the reviews here. I got my tags finally, on 3/1/23, one day after they had expired and because of his work, can keep the car for another 2 years. I think they truly enjoy their work, helping people and solving puzzles that engines and other issues can present. It's a real relief to find someone who can help me because I do have an old car I want to have last as long as possible. My only hesitation in writing this recommendation is that he will become so busy I won't be able to get an appointment. Thank you, Demetrio!

If I could give this shop more stars I would. I have been coming to d's for quite some time. He is knowledgeable, he cares about the car and getting it fixed first the right way. I used to have my Tacoma which was a engine rebuild , amongst other things. He had it back to me on a half the time other mechanics would take because he cares about his customers.y. Sonota now.... Great car and continues to be good for me because I have a very good mechanic who hasn't broken the wallet . Will continue to talk cars to him and his outstanding team

In the opinion of this family, there IS only one shop in Portland - D's Automotive. Our business is pick up and delivery and when your company vehicle has a complete engine failure, you better know your mechanic! Over this past Memorial Day weekend this shop replaced that engine that had frozen tight and today it is back to work! No matter which vehicle, ALL of them in our family are under the care of D'S.

I have only been going here since 2019 — three of my cars have only been repaired by D and his crew. My current car has needed everything from a new engine to the AC unit to the converter to you name it — he does it all at the best prices for the best work. I only recommend this shop. I won’t even get an oil change anywhere else. YOU WILL NOT REGRET COMING HERE! They will save your car and your wallet!! Everyone is so nice and understanding. Come here for any problems! They will take care of you!! Even a Prius is no match for the shop. EDIT: I have a new car and still ONLY come here!!! I recommend this place to everyone! I’ve had every service done here.

The first honest macanic I've ever come across, in 20yrs! He's done work on both our cars, always fair price and will get you in as soon as possible. He has me and my family as a customer for life. My mechanic of many years sadly retired and he referred me to D’s Automotive. I was hesitant to try someone new even with a referral. It’s unfortunate to have such little trust when it comes to getting my cars serviced but as a woman with little knowledge about cars there’s an expectation for getting ripped because it’s happened so many times over the years. Happily D’s doesn’t follow the trend of overpricing, misdiagnosing or exaggerating needed repairs that so many other shops do. And their quality of work is excellent. So many times I’ve had to return my car to a shop that didn’t repair it correctly. D’s understands how important customer service is, something that so many businesses these days have forgotten. I’m relieved to know that my cars are in good hands whenever I need repairs, one huge load off my mind that I appreciate very much.

As good as it gets. Cheaper than most shops. I've taken my cars here for years. My family has also made this shop their go to repair shop. They are honest and considerate. Great service at this shop, reliable and trustworthy. I always recommend friends and family here. Last time I was there my Chevrolet Tahoe had an A/C issue that no one could fix. I took it to D's Automotive and it's going on two years without any issues. It's important for my cars to be reliable for me and my family. This shop keeps them running 100%. Subpar work from some mechanics, lack of accountability as a whole. The “mechanic” Micheal admitted to putting universal coolant in my Mazda CX-7, when that is directly incompatible and caused the alternator to fry via electrolysis. Like the other review says: amateurish. They’ll try to tell you your car is just junk before they touched it even though second & third opinions from reputable mechanics say otherwise; so they lack integrity as well as skill. Edited to add: Micheal was given payment directly so he should have my invoice, are you telling me your shop doesn’t keep track of who pays Micheal? He told me he was the manager, but when I just tried to speak with him about the issue— he laughed. Not a great representation of the shop at all. He’s already directly admitted fault, now he’s trying to skirt the responsibility of rectifying this…

There is no other place to go then Dimitri‘s to get your car fixed. He is the most honest and faithful mechanic out there. I have a Volvo 2006 and he makes my car sing so if you need an honest trustworthy mechanic go see Dimitri he gets more than five stars from us more like 3000 stars

D's Automative is a great auto shop, and it's the only ship I will take my car to. They always try their best to make the repairs quick an easy, and explain everything in a way that lets you know what's important to get done right away, or if something should be fixed soon but can wait for now. I absolutely recommend this shop to anyone who needs a good, reliable mechanic.

I am waiting on a diagnostic right now, same-day, Saturday morning, I have been searching for a mechanic I can trust, so far no one has been easier to talk to or so willing to help without a bunch of fees, or trying to sell me services before even looking at it. So far five star. After the work I will do another review. I'm confident I will be happy here. I think I have finally found my new mechanic.

I needed to get my brakes fixed and decided to give Ds a chance to support a local business. Less than 10 blocks from the shop my front passenger wheel decided to ditch 4/5 lug nuts. Forgetting to torque down lug nuts seems like an amateurish, forgetful move. Sorry so say but I won’t be returning to D’s anytime soon.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Mechanic You Can Actually Trust D’s Automotive — and Dimitri in particular — saved me over $9,000. No exaggeration. I was convinced I had to buy a new used car. The car I was going to buy was $9000.. but during my pre purchase inspection at his shop I asked about fixing my old car. He said he could do it. So, I brought him my 23-year-old car that most shops had written off. Within 24 hours, Dimitri had it fully repaired and back on the road. One shop quoted me $700 for a single fix — Dimitri did the exact same repair for $130, and he did it right. Not only did he take care of the car, he also arranged an affordable tow and walked me through every step with zero upsell or pressure. Because his pricing was so honest, I was able to get additional work done — repairs that I couldn’t have afforded at the “fancy” shops with polished lobbies and bullshit labor costs. I now have a trustworthy mechanic and a renewed car that I thought I’d have to junk. With Dimitri in my corner, I genuinely believe I can squeeze several more years out of this old Corolla. Thank you, D — you didn’t just fix a car. You gave me time, mobility, and financial breathing room. That matters more than you know.

Dmitri has worked on several of my vehicles (one currently there now) and always gets the job done quickly and more efficiently than anyone else around. He's personable and will joke around and laugh with you while maintaining the professional vibe as he describes what was done and what maintenance to keep up on yourself if you're not mechanically inclined. Only way I'll ever go anywhere else is if his shop closes down. But, with the great work he and his crew does, I don't that'll happen! Thanks for always keeping me on the road, boys! 🤙🤘
