I brought my van in for work expecting to have my water pump replaced and was told it was only a heater valve. I was very happy to hear that news. I have had multiple major repairs done here and been quite a satisfied until recently. Had a minivan towed in thinking the timing belt had slipped. Was told by Lee there was no oil in the engine and it was shot and would be $8500 for a new block. Had it towed back home to clean it out and the tow driver started it and drove it up in the driveway. Checked the oil, it's still full bit it starts and the timing is obviously way off. If you don't want to do a repair, don't lie to your customers!!!

I am a 5+ years loyal customer and fan of Dan's Auto Repair. I still remember coming into their shop in the Summer of 2014 because I discovered my catalytic converter was professionally stolen and sawed off after hearing the loud rumblings coming from my former car. Brad (now retired) took me through my options. He let me know straight up how much the replacement and labor costs would run. I had an idea (an expensive one) beforehand because I did lots of online research on this type of repair work. Brad quoted me a price that was lower than anything I found in my research. The repairs were still costly, but Brad and the team did the job right. That's why I ALWAYS take my latest car for all major repairs (except tire replacements) and routine maintenance to Dan's Auto Repair. I drive 30 minutes each way for oil changes and tire rotations because that's how much I trust them. Lee, Billy, and Brady and the entire staff are not in the auto repair business. They are in the trust business. I trust these gentlemen to do excellent work, explain the repairs in terms I understand, and most of all, treat me fairly. They've earned my trust over many years. It's about time I returned their generosity with a detailed review of why I believe they are outstanding professionals.

It was just a few days since I've been in Kansas City, and my truck broke. I had no idea where to go. Dan's Auto came up on my Google Maps. The staff is really nice. They responded quickly answering the phone. They give me an estimated time, and my truck was in and out within two days. Reasonable price too. Excellent service! Thank you!

My fiance and I have been going to Dan's for years. They are knowledgeable and fast. Their prices are transparent and fair. They have helped me with everything from inspections when buying a new car to front brakes to power steering issues. They are never rude. I recommend scheduleling ahead of time over phone. We have since moved 30 minutes from them but we will continue to use them as our primary mechanics.

My issue was resolved but without persistence. 96 and above is best at this place. Those that are getting older and still think the early 90s are not old, well go somewhere else. There was lag time and not their fault but still. Fair pricing for what they do. I would suggest better communication with the customer. 91 mercury grand marquis. Fuel tank has no leak and vehicle starts no-issue. Thanks again.

This used to be a great place to go for brakes reasonably priced and good service. I had an appointment recently that I had made over a week in advance for brakes and a wheel bearing. I had needed that specific day because I knew I didn't have anywhere to be, I had the day off, and planned to fix my car.I show up for my appointment shortly after they opened. I'm there for about an hour and they tell me oh well they're going to have to order the parts I'll have to come back sometime next week. When I made the appointment nothing was said about having to come back, in the past if I made an appointment for brakes they were done on that day. They said it would be $1100 but they could bring it down $950. The place I ended up going after dan's auto repair wasted my entire day charged me $750. I would never schedule with or trust this shop again.

I paid $700 for breaks to be fixed. They didn't. I called and owner did not want to hear me out. He told me bring it and we'll charge you more if we have too. Diagnosis leaks on break lines. He said we fixed one there could be another. I said why didn't you check for all leaks. He said we don't do that. said so I need to bring in truck 2, 3 times to solve problem. He didn't answer. They do not disclose in front detail prices.
