I took my Saturn Vue in to get an electrical problem fixed that was affecting the power steering, locks, and speedometers from not working. They replace my battery insisting this was the only problem only to pick it up and find that nothing still works. I return two days later and they insist everything is fine. I check under the hood at the shop to see if they actually bothered to replace my battery which fortunately they did, however unfortunately they left two rubber gloves down in my engine which could have melted and caused damage. I go in and tell them and the guy has nothing to say not even so much as an apology or can have me talk to a manager. A combination of unfriendly service, and lack of competence to fix a simple problem tells me NEVER to come here and to warn others of my experience. Good luck if you bring your car here.

Avoid this place. The owner seems angry and upset with customers, at least that was my experience. The price he quoted me over the phone was not the price that he wanted to do the work for when I got to the store. He wanted to tack on $60 onto the price for something we had already agreed on. After waiting for 45 minutes he was unable to do the job, and charged me $30 to tell me the Lugnuts I provided wouldn't work. Do yourself a favor and avoid this shady business owner. They will not give you a free estimate or evaluation. And you'll get bucket loads of attitude the minute you walk in the door. Terrible.

I got an estimate on my car for $3,000 from Midas, brought it here and was quoted around 1700 if I remember correctly. I needed my car and I gave the go ahead, this might be partially my fault as someone was trying to help me out with the whole issue. I said something like "Yeah, I have to take care of it because it's my only way to get to and from work" somewhere along the way they took it as "Tune up everything wrong with the car, any odds and ends you can find take care of it" it cost me $3100 when I went to pick it up. I had to take out a small loan so I wouldn't be totally broke. Altho, the cherry on top is a little under a month after I picked it up my check engine light came back on, so I took it back to them and said "I cannot afford to put hardly any more money into this car" I called them a couple days later and they told me it would cost $2500.... It's a 2007 Ford Freestyle, used to be a family car, it was well taken care of before I had it so I was hoping to get more than a year and a quarter out of it, but I guess that's just life. The best thing I can say is that they had decently fast paced service so kudos for whatever that's worth. Good luck to everyone else who's having car troubles

I don't think I'll be back. I've been using them on and off since 1994. The place has changed since the "old man" gave up running it. The staff doesn't seem as happy and personable as they were several years ago. Their rates are a bit higher than other places too. My recent experience with them was very frustrating (and I hate to tell it because they will know exactly who I am). I needed tires for my boat. I store my boat in a cave way up by Worlds of Fun. I called them to get me tires because they are so close to my house. No problem, they get the tires so I bring them my boat. It's a lot of hassle because I had to bring it all the way from storage, but oh well. They started to work on it and according to what I heard, the guys were starting to jack the trailer when the owner lady came out waving her hands and telling them to stop. She said that they were not going to jack it up, were not going to take off the wheels, and if I wanted my tires changed I had to bring the wheels in myself. Did she have the guts to tell me herself? Nope. In order to get the tires installed I had to tow my boat back to storage and jack it up and take all the tires off all at once to bring them back. That's very dangerous and I hated doing it. Here's how to get a tire off a tandem axle boat trailer: drive one of the wheels up a small ramp which lifts the other wheel up and lets you take it off. It's not hard, and since three of the tires remain in contact with the ground, it's completely safe. Would they even listen? Nope. They put me completely at risk by making me take ALL the wheels off at once. I wasted tons of time pulling my boat down and then taking it back, and then taking off the wheels, and then going back to Fry's, and then waiting an entire day for them to do the work and then taking them back and reinstalling them. All this after having received a shrugged off "sorry" (like nothin' else I'm gonna do about it) from them and no comment from the owner-lady for causing all this trouble. To add insult to injury they took the ENTIRE day to fit my five tires. $830 worth of tires and work and they put a bunch of oil changes in front of me and then called me at 5:45 to say they were done. Thanks for making me feel like an afterthought after spending nearly a grand. You'd think they'd have made a little extra effort to make me happy. They did take $10 off the mount / balance per tire because I did all the work of taking them off the trailer myself, but that's a small consolation when the rest of the experience was so bad. Yeah, after retelling this story again it made me mad again and so they get two stars instead of three. They need to do something to make their employees happier so they're more friendly towards clients. It's like a funeral parlor around there... everyone dragging around, nobody smiling, nobody chatting with the customers. Except for this one guy who must be the old man's son because he looks like him. He's nice. But it's not enough to bring me back.

A Great experience. I called late Sat afternoon and Jeff was able to get my truck in for a partcular service first thing Monday. It was ready by 10:30. I will call them again for car service. I appreciated very much that they took time to discuss the issue with me.

Took my car into Fry's to have them look at and give me an estimate for a suspected broken flex pipe or exhaust manifold. Was told my entire exhaust system was rotted out and needed to be replaced for $1,200. I told them no thanks and took my car to an actual exhaust repair shop, which I should have done from the beginning, and was quoted $300 to repair the flex pipe. Fry's still charged me $60 to perform "an extensive and time consuming inspection" which didn't even take an hour from the time I dropped off the car to the time I received a call with the $1,200 quote. This seems even more ridiculous when you consider the fact that I had told them when I dropped the car off that it was either a broken manifold or flex pipe. I'd be very careful if Fry's tells you your repairs are going to be very costly. In my opinion they are just trying to sell you services you don’t need.

They are way over priced. They tried to fix my 16-year-old daughters car charging $750 for something that was not the correct problem to be fixed. They then release the car to me and it broke down three more Times and were able to finally get the car back over there than without it being towed. Then after they had it for three more weeks they finally fixed it correctly and are now wanting to charge $250 more.

Zero stars. Just a waste of time and money. They “fixed my tire” with a patch and then (same day) I had to go back because my tire had 4 extra holes that they didn’t notice the first time. They did not put the tire back on after the initial patch work, saying no one was there who could do it (they had 4 workers when I arrived) so I put it on myself. They said they couldn’t do anymore patches (after the tire went flat again) and offered to sell me an over priced tire without offering a refund or discount for the initial patch work (which didn’t solve the problem). Overall disappointment with their efforts and customer service. I ended up going to walmart and got a new tire from there.

So, my alternator went out on a Saturday afternoon. I happened to be somewhat close to Fry's, and since it was an independent shop, I figured I would get enough of a charge on my battery to get it there, and hoped they could replace my alternator before they closed. I got it in there, and they didn't have time that day. That's okay, I didn't mind leaving it til Monday morning, but when I went in, I specifically told them that the alternator was shot and had to be replaced and asked about how much that would cost. The guy said probably about a couple hundred dollars. That seemed right to me. Monday morning, a guy calls me up and tells me what I already had told them at the counter, that the alternator would need to be replaced, but that it will be $375. Now, I realize the person working on Saturday was making a somewhat rough guess, but to be off by $200 is pretty ridiculous. I was shocked, especially considering that I was told by several mechanics that my 96 Taurus had an alternator that was up front and quite easy to reach. I called my regular mechanic (the only reason I didn't go to him first was because of the distance, I thought my car wouldn't make it there on one charge), and he told me that for the price of $250, that he would tow the car to his shop AND fix my problem. I know for a fact that the part I needed costs less than $130, and that it shouldn't take more than an hour to replace. Unless they're charging an excessive amount of money for labor, there's no reason that this should be almost $400. When I told the fellow on the phone that I wouldn't be needing their services, they still had brass ones big enough to charge me nearly 60 dollars just for lifting up the hood and telling me what I already knew. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE, IT'S A RIP OFF!

This summer my air conditioner went out. Went in to Frys were I have been a customer for 6 yrs. they "fixed" the leak added more coolant and I picked up car. Next day air conditioner stopped again. I brought it back in they checked everything. Small amount of coolant added. I picked it up and everything was fine for 24hrs. Air conditioner out again. Brought the car back. They said they used dye and pressure and found no leaks. They thought the problem was in the button to turn it on. They sent me to the dealership because they have better diagnostics. The Ford dealership said there was no coolant in the system!!!!! NONE!! That the lack of coolant had damaged the condenser and I needed to replace it. The bill was about $2000. I talked to the owner of Fry's and he just kept saying there was no leak and it was full of coolant when they inspected it the day before. Someone is lying. All I can say is after getting over the idea of paying for a new condenser I have had no more problems. When I was at the dealership they said there was a recall on my brake booster and they would take care of that. They called and said it has been replaced. Fry did that last year when I was having brake problems. They did not tell me it was a recall and I was charged $408!!!! I again talked with the owner who was very unconcerned. He suggested I get in touch with Ford and they will probably refund me!! I asked how they could not check for recalls and he brushed it off. Needless to say I am no longer a customer and I suggest you reconsider if you are and don't get involved if you are just looking.

We have 7 kids and at one point were caring for 6 mostly older cars. Frequently they would tell us something needed work but we could wait awhile rather than pushing all repairs to be done immediately. They lost a great guy a few years ago so are not as friendly as they used to be but would still highly recommend them. We have found them to be consistently trustworthy and fair.

I was warned by a friend who went in to have his car fixed here. They charged almost a $1000 for the work and the problem wasn’t fixed at all. I was warned; they’re shady. We read the reviews and tried to be optimistic. We felt they were just getting bad press and that it was a good idea to support a local business. Sometimes bad reviews are there for a reason. A $95 oil change crippled my car. End of story. It made it 5 miles from their shop and the car began to shut down. Barely running we got it back to the shop and they let it sit all day before addressing it. Then they tried to tack on a $500 repair. It’s not their fault, of course, just a random coincidence that a fully operational car would suddenly shut down Immediately after an oil change. Super common. Until you remember the reviews. And the warnings given to you. Times are tough and this place is a shakedown. Take your vehicle to some place not so exposed financially and avoid the predatory behavior of this shop. The bad reviews are real; they do shoddy work and charge you more to repair their mistakes. Buyer beware.

Brought my car in due to the air conditioner not working. Was quoted $2,000 for the repair, saying my compressor was bad, and it had contaminated all of the other parts in the system, so they would all have to be replaced. I was skeptical about this, so decided to take it to the dealership. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the compressor. All my car needed was a simple valve replaced that cost $110. Air conditioner is now running better than ever. I would not take my car to Fry's again. They charged me $80 just to assess the problem, then quoted me for work that didn't need to be done.

I am so impressed with the work I had done on my car at Fry’s! What was a stressful day ended so much better when I arrived here. They were able to get my car looked at within an hour, and had it fixed in less than two! I have never been here before but will definitely come back and have already recommended them to some coworkers!

Scheduling was easy & the time available for the appointment was quick. The service was wonderful. They began work on my car right as scheduled. Work was performed quickly & they called to let me know of its completion (I had gone strolling in the shops). Price was as expected. The service agents in the lobby were very friendly, appreciative & customer focused. I will continue to use Fry's.

I rolled into Fry's late Friday afternoon bc my engine light was on and my car was having a hard time starting - I was panicking bc I was leaving for a road trip at the crack of dawn the next day. The two guys were spread thin, but said they would at least check to see if it was the battery. They were so nice, professional and helpful. They replaced my battery and my engine light went off, car started perfectly and I was on my way in under 30 minutes. They could have easily blown me off saying I needed an appointment, it's the end of the day, blah, blah, but they were so willing to try and help. I am very impressed. I WILL be back! Plus, the place is very clean and tidy.

Took my car here for a new battery. Told them it was 4 years old. They “tested” it, said it was fine and charged me $30. Two days later I had to pay someone to come to my home and replace the battery. Completely unimpressed.

Had car codes read at a transmission shop, they recommended this place for experience with the model. They performed an initial round of service according to the codes thrown, then the issue continued a couple days after my initial service. I returned for a second visit and was charged for a part replacement that was "overlooked" on my first visit. Frustrating but understandable, I drove away. The next morning, the issue occurred again. On my third visit, they warrantied the part that was initially overlooked. I went on my way, and the issue continued. I was sent a lovely letter by the Fry family appreciating my business, despite the issue persisting. What a lovely touch that was. I was charged for a replacement of this initially overlooked part on my fifth visit to Fry's. It is now my sixth time at this shop and only now are they admitting failure to fix my car as they recommend a different shop. A complete waste of my time and money, I will never do business with Fry's again.

They need to be more problem solving and less salesy. I’m giving an extra star because the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I came in with one specific issue, a terrible sound coming from my car, and left with the same problem unresolved. i recommended checking two things that it could be, but after the service, no one explained how the issue was addressed. I simply received a call saying my car needed a couple of things, with no clear diagnosis or follow-up. Disappointing experience overall.

Our car wouldn't start after grocery shopping across the street. Frys Car Care had it towed to them and replaced the starter. Very reasonable price for the tow and the starter and all fixed in 4 hours. Will be giving this place more business in the future.
