Took three days to replace our radiator when they said it would be one day, they broke a part while replacing the radiator then charged us for the part and the labor to install it. They replaced our radiator at the end of the day the second day they tell us that we can pick it up but they broke a part while replacing it so we need to bring it in the next day so they can replace the part. I picked up the car and paid $1,250 for the service but before I reached my destination just a few miles away the engine coolant low warning light came on and the car was hot. We took it back in the next day letting them know that the car was still overheating with the new radiator. They said it would be done at noon, at 3 in the afternoon they said we can come pick up the car but made me pay for the part they broke and the labor to install it another $150! $1,400 to replace a radiator! I'm not a happy camper!

Took my car to check out a small fuel leak - it would leak a small amount (roughly the size of a quarter over a day) on the front right side. Not an emergency but not something you'd want to ignore so at a friend's recommendation I took to Deano's. Long story short it didn't go very well. Seems like a knowledgeable shop but with bad customer service and a large amount of disorganization. Initially all was well, as a shop they appear to be very busy (which is good). I scheduled to drop my car off in the morning about a week out (because they're booked very tightly) and dropped it off at 8AM, re-explained the problem and was told I would get a call about 10AM with an explanation/estimate. I didn't get a call at 10 and wound up calling them at noon, but no one was available to talk. Called again at 2, and at 3 and finally got someone who was able to talk specifically about my car. That conversation was where the whole situation started to fall apart - "do you need this car back today"? I was a bit puzzled, it wasn't busy when I dropped it off several hours ago but we're just starting it now? They didn't have an estimate either, but instead a general idea of what could potentially cause the problem (fuel pump, gas tank, or a seal) but they would need to open it up (labor intensive) and put together an estimate around that, $300 for roughly 3 hours labor to get a specific idea of what was causing the issue, and if it would be easy/cheap to replace or hard and/or expensive. My car is a fair bit older so expensive would be a no-go for me and the mechanic agrees with my assessment (not worth $600+ parts for a sub $4k car). The next weeks rolls around and I drop it off at 8AM again and am told I'll get a call before noon. Once again I do not get a call at that time and have to call them at 2 where no mechanics are available but they're working on it and again at 3 which was another "did you need this today?", but they mentioned that could happen so I leave it there. Tomorrow comes around without a call so I'm left calling them a few times until a mechanic is free to talk to me and I'm told the issue is main fuel pump ($600) and I let them know that's out of my price range so no thank you, to which the mechanic sounded annoyed - even though this was the plan going in? This call ended with a "do you need this today?" which I did. When I get there at 4:50 they're still piecing it back together. The work comes in over estimate by about 25% but they're estimates for a reason - I'm annoyed the parts cost so much but I can't blame Deano's for that, so it is what it is. I settle up and wish them well and go on my way. When I get home I notice that gas is now leaking from the center (not the front right, which was the initial problem) and way more of it was leaking (it used to be about the size of a quarter in a 24 hour period) and now it was leaking about a full three inches an hour. Way, way more than when I brought it in. I'm still not mad at this point. These things can happen, it might just be residual gas from when they took it apart and put it back together and if it persists I'll just give them a call and see if they want to take another crack at it. It persisted, it is now way worse than it was initially so I give them a call and explain the situation and offer to bring the car in and drop it off so they can take another crack at it. But they didn't want to, saying it's probably the same problem, despite the fact that wasn't anywhere near this bad before I brought it in. I'm left with the feeling that I'd be way better off if I never brought it here in the first place.

If you're looking for an honest mechanic in Reno, NV, take your car to Deano's. He can usually have you in and out in less than a day, he communicates with his customers and his prices are very fair. I only wish he'd open up on Saturdays as M-F can be hard to juggle vehicle repairs with work schedules, etc.

I have brought my car there several different times over the years on a recommendation of a friend. They are always fast, honest and I don't feel like they gouged me on the cost. I have recommended them to others and they have been just as pleased with the service

Only mechanic that I can actually trust to fix my car. All employees very welcoming, always tried to get the job done as quick as possible. If I can afford a brand new piece they always have different resources or point me in the right direction to purchase what I need.

Failed my smog, was slightly over on the HCs. Didn't have tools/time to change spark plugs and mess around with rest of engine so decided to take it in to get looked at. Extremely fast and cheap to fix (2.5 hours, $120 to fix two vacuum leaks and test/pass smog). Will likely go back there next time I need to as well.

Highly recommend if you are looking for honest, quality, reliable work to be performed for the right reasonable price. These qualities are difficult to find these days. I was most fortunate to have found this auto repair facility. I highly recommend you find out for yourself. I would not hesitate a moment to call upon Deano's again. When you find a business you can trust, you stay with them. For me, that place is Deano's. Thank you Deano's (Mike & the whole crew) for the service above and beyond expectation. Sincerely, Mark from Las Vegas Update : Today's date October 24, 2023. It has been over (10) ten months since I was fortunate to have Deano's Automotive work on my vehicle. The throttle body required replacement. 1st - an accurate diagnosis is essential. And when diagnosing, sometimes the code that presents, can be due to multiple issues. 2nd - Deano's then tested each possible issue To rule it out as the cause. Simplest/least costly up. 3rd - the issue was identified and confirmed. 4th- physical labor of disassmbly. Replace the parts. Then reassembly. 5th - programming the new part into the computer. There are certain values that must be achieved for everything to work as designed. This step is critical for a proper/successful repair. And sometimes, something may not be just right. And is not discovered until later down the road. I am EXTREMELY PLEASED to report ... I have been driving my vehicle, sometimes towing a trailer. And have not experience any issue/s whatsoever. In fact, prior to this service from Deano's. I would periodically get an idiot light illuminated in the dash. That would clear, if I shut the engine off, then start back up. That unrelated indicator light has not come back on, since serviced at Deano's. Clearly the throttle body issue was related to the traction control warning light. I am one HAPPY HAPPY Customer. THANK YOU DEANO'S, FOR THE SERVICE YOU PROVIDED FOR ME & MY VEHICLE. SINCERELY Mark - from Las Vegas Another Update: December 24, 2024 ... I have not experienced any issues with my 2008 TrailBlazer, since having my vehicle serviced by the great people at Deano's Automotive. I think it's time for me to drive to Reno, from Las Vegas, to have my oil changed at Deano's. When you find an Automotive repair facility that you trust, I really do not want to take the chance with any other place. Again, thank you Deano's, for the excellent work on my vehicle, that you did for me Mark W. from Las Vegas

I needed a Smog test for my Jeep a few years ago, Deano personally took care of it in less than 10 minutes, I was out the door, on my way home. I have been using his shop ever since for all of my vehicles (6), the price is the best in town, and even though the shop is full service, the Smog tests get full attention. I recommend them to all of my friends!!

Deano's has been our go-to place for car stuff since we've been in Reno, nearly 10 years now. Both our Honda's get well taken care of, from smog checks to more involved repairs. Team here is friendly and keeps it real. Costs seem reasonable. Definitely recommend making an appointment for anything other than the smog, sometimes it can be a week out before getting in.

Very impressed with the job done on my vehicle. Mike kept me informed. He was straight forward from the beginning. Definitely will be going back. With any other issues. Upfront and honest with you. Mike also looked at my moms car and he saw the spark plugs did not need to be replaced. He let us know. I can not say enough about Deano's. If your looking for honest and straight forward not beating around the bush. Definitely take your vehicle to Deano's.

Mike at Deano's is my go to guy for EVERY single vehicle I own, business and personal. I may have trust issues, but NEVER here. Mike goes above and beyond for me. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else. I have never been happier with another place. Mike works EVERY day just like I do, and I have so much respect for his complete honesty. If you want the truth, Mike is your guy. Mike understands so much about the value of your vehicle. He's handled my vehicles with care and honesty. I trust Deano's automotive implicitly. Mike has the best TEAM.

Friendly, professional, honest, and fair. They did a lot of work to my 2002 4runner (timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, cam seals, rear shocks/springs) and could have charged me out the wazoo, but they didn’t. Mike even drove to multiple parts stores for me. Highly, highly recommend.

The new owner Mike is great! He is very nice and gave me excellent customer service. The mechanics are knowledgeable and stand by their work. I had some maintenance work done and they didn’t try to replace or fix things that weren’t in need. They explained everything to me in terms that made sense and had very reasonable pricing. Mike also discounted some of the charges for me. I will be back.

I've taken my Ford Escape here a few times after a recommendation from a friend. Great place. Jose and Mike are both really nice and will answer your stupid questions with detail and without any condescension. They have fair prices and haven't tried to sell me on anything I don't need. They will give you a detailed and accurate estimate on anything you need done, and let you know how long you can wait to do it if you can't afford the job then and there. Oh and they repaired a leak in my spare tire for free with my last job. Thanks Deano's crew!
