I have NEVER done a google review for a business, but after the service I experieced, I cant afford not to! My family and I visited Panama City for vacation this past week, from Ohio. Our A/C had gone out and the heat was pretty miserable, especially having a 4 month old and 2 teenage daughters with us. We checked out Diagnostic Tune & Auto Air upon searching google and reading reviews. I decided that we'd have them diagnose our issue and give a cost for repair. About 30-40 minutes after dropping the car off, we got a call explaining that our car needed a new air compressor and that without other work being done, we could potentially end up stranded on the side of the road on our way back home. The cost was much more than I was able to afford for all the work that needed done. Being, we had budgeted solely for our vacation, not vehicle repair. At first I was pretty frustrated as I had thought I possibly "lucked" into finding a shop that was ready to take advantage of us since we were out of state. But that definitely was not the case. Furthest from the truth, actually. I explained to Jim, that there was no way I could afford the cost for all the repair and we discussed other options with less or no warranty, aftermarket parts etc. After talking, my husband and I decided that we would do the basic fix to be sure we wouldnt take a chance on being stranded, and do without having air. It was already Thursday morning when we made the decision and called to ask if he was still willing to do the repair. We had to check out of our condo by 10am on Friday morning, so we were cutting it close. Jim called us back to let us know that he would have the part overnighted and it should arrive by Friday around 10 or 11am and we were welcome to sit inside the office if we needed to while the car was being worked on. About 20 minutes later, We got a phone call once more, he said he found a warehouse close by with our part in stock. He would have the repair done by that evening, AND he did! Even though they were booked out for 6 weeks, Jim made sure to squeeze us in! It gets better! He told me didnt want us driving back having no A/C, with storms on the way, and kids in the car, so he also made sure we had air! He had asked my max budget for the basic repair earlier on, he charged me nothing more than that AND gave us a very comfortable ride home! My family is extremely grateful for the graciousness we received. I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR DIAGNOSTIC TUNE AND AUTO AIR, YOU PUT MY FAMILY FIRST! THANK YOU, JIM! P.S. I went to this repair shop due to a referral. I must say that Jim was professional and thorough with repairing my truck. Repairs were more extensive than I anticipated to be but, all work that needed to be done was making the truck right. Costs were very reasonable for all the work done and Jim kept me up to date with anything needed. I could not have asked for some one better to take care of my vehicle and what was needed. Very pleased someone takes pride to make it all right. Not get it out quick to come back with more later.

Just had my air conditioner fixed last week and I am satisfied. The price was affordable and better then I expected it to be and they were very nice and honest. I drive a Volkswagen and have trouble finding people to work on it when it needs it. They had me up and running in no time. I plan on going back to get some other things done soon. Glad I chose them.

So, a little back story. I have a 2011 Toyota Sienna. The A/C was working intermittently. Sometimes it would be ice cold, sometimes it was like having the heater on. Needed constant charging. One place in Tampa, before I moved here, told me that there is a leak in both of the evaporators (the Sienna has two, one for front and one for rear seats) and they'll have to be replaced at a cost of about $1500. Something seemed fishy, so I told them just to recharge it. Charge didn't hold I moved here last year. But the A/C on the Sienna is still not working right. Took it to Diagnostic tune. Told them what the guy in Tampa said. They told me straight up that the evaporators on the Sienna never go out and the problem has to be somewhere else and they'll figure it out. They told me the next day the clutch on the compressor broke away and that a part of it is stuck in the compressor. The clutch would sometimes engage the compressor to blow cool air, which explained the intermittent cool air. They both had to be replaced. Cost me way less than the crook in Tampa was going to charge me and I still would have had the same problem. A/C is working great now. You can absolutely trust these guys. Had my van back to me two days after I dropped it of, so they're pretty quick too. Also, they give a military discount. Taking my van and other vehicles there if I ever have anymore problems.

But their customer service was so very friendly & just top notch! I enjoyed the conversations with the owner...real nice guy! Very welcoming atmosphere! They made sure to clearly communicate with us from beginning to end and even finished a few hours earlier than expected. They were great about diagnosing the problem & fixing it even though we gave them little info on our end, as we just didn't know exactly what was wrong. Great service, honest, fair prices! I’m military and have never had to use any auto repair shops until just recently when my AC went out in my vehicle. I stopped by Diagnostic Tune at 8am and within an hour or so Jim the sole owner and mechanic also a veteran himself told me that my Evaporator Core was bad. He ordered the part, I was back in the shop after a few days. I dropped the vehicle off and had it back the same day. It was a pretty big job having to take apart the dash and what not. I told Jim I’ve had bad experiences in the past with dealerships taking my interior apart for warranty work. Jim was thorough in reassembly as there was no visual defects in the plastics or lights malfunctioning. The AC blows ice cold and runs completely normal. The price was fair and he’s very transparent in what the work will entail and how long it will take him. I’d highly suggest this business to anyone and will be back in the event I have any issues with my vehicles in the future! - Nick

When I went down the street, they wanted to charge me over 2k for an air conditioner replacement. I went here for a second opinion, and they were able to diagnose specific issues in my AC and charge me roughly half of the other place. They had a bit of a backlog, so they may not be an option in an emergency. However, they were knowledgeable and their prices reasonable, so I can see why they are popular.

At a total Loss on knowing what to do to fix a missing out problem. Diagnostic Tune & Auto Air found the problem (stuck and Bent Valve) and got right on it as soon as they could.It needed a total top end rebuild. Now it runs great. I Love that AMS oil oil change to. The AC was not right either. ICE Cold now!!! Thanks for a Job well done and Great Experienced Mechanics and tools to do the Job!

I had a truly disappointing experience at Diagnostic Tune & Auto Air. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was lackluster at best. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, making me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. I brought my car in for what I thought would be a simple diagnostic check, but it turned into a nightmare. Not only did they take much longer than promised, but when I finally got my car back, it was clear that the issues I had reported were not addressed at all. Instead, I was given a long list of unnecessary repairs that seemed more like a ploy to drain my wallet than genuine recommendations. To make matters worse, when I tried to discuss my concerns with Darren, he was dismissive and rude. It felt like he had no interest in resolving my issues or ensuring customer satisfaction. I left feeling frustrated and cheated. I would not recommend Diagnostic Tune & Auto Air to anyone. Save your time and money and take your vehicle elsewhere. There are plenty of honest and competent auto shops out there that actually care about their customers.
