I do not recommend buying a car from this dealership. Though the people were friendly they sold me a money pit car. I have paid out more in repairs than I have paid on the vehicle thus far. I bought the vehicle in January & so far have paid out $2,000 in repairs. Maybe it's just their mechanic that sucks but either way I will never buy from them again.

My buying experience was ok, but the rest has been less than positive. 1. It was promised to me at the time of purchase that an owner's manual for the car was ordered. A week or so later received a text from the salesman saying that he hadn't received it yet. I've had the car 3 months now. Still no owner's manual. 2. Before I purchased the car, I took it for a test drive. The test drive went great until I took a corner and the rear end shuddered. The car is AWD, thus concerned about the transfer case. I told the salesman if they got that issue resolved that I would buy the car. I was told the problem had been taken care of - just a matter of an "oil change" for the AWD. I came back and took the car for another test drive and bought the car. Now, the first time I took it for the drive, they came to me. I live in Branford but work in Farmington, so they met me in Glastonbury with the car for the test drive. When I took it for the second drive, it was on the day I was going to buy it, so I just drove it around the dealership. No issues. By the time I got it home, it started doing the shuddering again. Figured maybe give it a couple days for the oil to work its way into the gearing. Still didn't work. I drive ~100 miles a day just commuting to/from work. I took the car to my mechanic (who I've had since ~2005) who just took it for a quick test drive and confirmed that it either needed an "oil change" for the AWD, or there was a bigger issue with the transfer case. When the salesman had texted me notifying me that they had not yet received the owner's manual for the car, I notified him that the issue still existed for the shuddering. NO RESPONSE. About a week ago I had emailed Ellis about both issues, and have gotten NO RESPONSE. Mind you, when I tried to negotiate the price of the vehicle, they made me feel as though they were doing me a favor with the price it was at already. They had the car on their lot for almost a year (it shows how long it's been listed online), so who was doing who the favor? I literally feel as though this dealership just wanted this inventory off their lot worse than a bad rash and do not want to follow up with the concerns or issues of mine. Shame, too, because I tend to buy a lot of cars between myself and my 2 adult daughters. Oh, and my 5 siblings, and all of their children. If I could give no stars, I would. UPDATE I did finally get a response from Ellis. They took the car for 2 weeks, did the fluid change for the rear end again and said it was the best they could do, which did not resolve the issue. However, I did finally get my owner's manual. Another thing. At that time I had expressed my concern that the brakes might need to be replaced because they were squeaking. He said they were fine. They were just doing that because the car sat on the lot for so long. A couple months later, after the mandated 60 day bumper to bumper warranty was up, I had to pay almost $1000 for new brakes. ADDITIONAL UPDATE I had the car fixed by a reputable shop (European Specialists), and it was the transfer car, rear differential, control arms and a host of other issues, many of which were not covered by the extended warranty that I had purchased. Had I not purchased the warranty, my bill would've been $7600 - on a car I'm still making payments on.

Very poor service & not a good experience. I was Billed over $500 for dishonest car repairs. I hear very little difference & my check engine light still on over $500.,WHY??? They took my hard earned money. My car may not pass inspection yet again ..Thrifty Did THIS to a hard working Christian BLACK Single Mom who trusted them . SEAN was 2 faced also.. He was nice on phone but intimidating and defensive & loud when asked questions about my repairs ( 1st sign of guilt) I noticed the younger white Hispanic who works there..HE knew I was a dissatisfied customer also. THRIFTY DID NOT DO THE RIGHT THING. I LEFT THERE CRYING in my car from being in a DISHONEST intimidating atmosphere ...I was taken for fool yet again by THRIFTY.CAR SALES REPAIR SHOP.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DISCH SERVICE DEPARTMENT! I have been a customer for Disch for may years and have not had a problem from them. If there was an issue that happened because of a factory defect (because lets face it car parts are not like they used to be) they take care of it no problem. The service department manager also breaks down how the parts work for your particular problem to help make sure you understand and does not do it in that condescending tone that most do because its a chore. Disch also looks for the actual cause of your visit too instead of just guessing until they get it right 8 visits later like most places and your stuck with a high bill, these guys take the time.

Had a scary morning when the brake line of my work van decided to let go. Called Disch and they had me tow it to them. They brought me right in and got the bad line replaced and my brakes bled and I was out the door in no time. I didn't buy the vehicle from them but they took care of me quickly and professionally. Had to have my son’s truck towed due to the ignition switch not turning to start. Sean was great in communicating on what they felt the problem was. They were absolutely right, just needed a new factory key which they were able to get the same day. I was pleasantly surprised at the price, I was expecting it to be a lot higher. I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful the two men I dealt with, through my experience were. Arthur and Ellis you made car shopping - which for many, can be extremely difficult and nerve wracking - so extremely effortless! I've been visiting Disch Auto for a few years now and have developed a trust that is hard to find with many auto repair spots. I've received help with various jobs, ranging from oil changes, brakes, tire replacements, and even an essential transmission replacement back in 2020 that was diagnosed at a local Nissan Dealer. Dish has successfully serviced both my wife's vehicle as well as my own, our vehicles continue to perform very well! Regarding the transmission replacement back in 2020, they quoted me around $1,000 less than a Nissan dealer ship and replaced with a brand-new Nissan transmission. I continue to trust Disch and will continue to rely on their help to ensure our family vehicles remain safe and functional.

Unfortunately, I must leave a bad review. I have been in talks about a vehicle for a couple of weeks. I tried to secure it with a deposit, but the salesman wouldn't accept it because I had to sell my vehicle first. Less than a week later, when I was confident I had a buyer, I called to leave the deposit and start the process. The salesman asked me to go in the next morning to fill out the paperwork. My response was "what time"? He got back to me an hour later and said it was sold. I couldn't believe it. What horrible customer service! The salesman had the gall to tell me that he understood why I was upset but he had tried to work with me. That was completely untrue. The only thing he offered me was half the price of my trade in... to the tune of $6,500. Not a deal, but a steal, from them! I tried working with him to secure this vehicle, but to no avail. If this is how they do business, I recommend you shop elsewhere. I had to give them at least one star to post this, which they do not deserve in my opinion.
