Ordered a Chevy crate motor there and gave them the number of the carb I needed and they couldnt even give me the right carb for the crate motor. Then when I said that's not the right carb I asked for. The owner said well we already ran it on your motor so its yours now. Never go there again.

Don’s just hooked my 2016 Charger Hellcat up with a DSS drive shaft, a Performance Development rear diff brace, and a Competition Engineering drive shaft loop. Got the car back same day it was scheduled for. So far so good. This drive shaft feels better than the OEM one. No vibrations or odd noises to speak of. Thanks guys! You did a hell of a job!

Myself, family, and some co-workers have been customers of Don’s for years (and MANY thousands of $$$). Recently took an old truck to Don’s for a SIGNIFICANT noise coming from the drivetrain area. Demonstrated the noise to several employees who quickly (less than a minute) isolated the issue to a loose lockout (for 4X4 mode) on the front left hub. Four hours and almost $600 later they told me they fixed the problem. I picked the truck up and discovered upon leaving the parking lot that the noise was no different than what I had previously demonstrated to them. Turns out they didn’t even test drive the truck to determine whether the noise had abated. When I asked for some help on the charge, I was told that what they repaired WAS actually broken. True but I also pointed out that I could go broke having them fix things that don’t need fixing (I don’t run the vehicle in 4X4). I offered to pick up the cost of the part if they picked the labor up. After much whining I gave up. They got my money, lost several customers in the process, and now $600 lighter, I’m going to take my truck to have it fixed…hopefully by someone who won’t take my money and leave me with the problem.

ive been going to dons for years for both my race cars and street cars. they are kind, helpful, and conduct their business professionally. they have never surprised me with a large bill, if anything unexpected arises they contact me first, explain the issue, and roughly what the cost will be and steps theyll take to overcome it. i always leave their establishment satisfied and with a high level of confidence about whatever work theyve done for me.

I've always enjoyed working with the fine people at Don's. Today I had a large starter out of a Dozer that I needed them to check out. I was promptly greeted at the counter, I ask which door they would like to have me carry it in through. Randy had the starter guy hold the door open while I brought the starter in and I set it directly onto the test stand. They gave it a quick preliminary test and I could see that they needed to disassemble to find out why it was hit and miss......like a dead spot or three.

We use Don's for all of our machining and drive shaft repair work. I don't even do my own universal joints anymore I just drop the shaft at Don's and usually get it back the same day or next day. They also built our championship winning street stock engine. Highly recommend

Took my '63 Pontiac LeMans to Don's in 2015 to start its restoration by rebuilding the 326 engine and adding cruise control. Tony was very friendly in our meeting and said they could get the work done for $5,000-7,000. I agreed and left the car to have the work done. After almost 7 months and at a cost of about $11,000 I got the car back. Less than 2 miles from Tony's shop the car was overheating so I took it back. A couple days later they said they had sent the timing to the wrong mark and the problem had been corrected. After that it was one problem after another over the next couple months that required returning the car to Tony's. The car was not being driven as I was starting work on other parts of the car. After a few more months the car sat idle for 4-5 years as other responsibilities kept me from working on it. In the meantime, I had moved about 200 miles away to central Wisconsin and in 2020 started working on the restoration again. The first thing I found is the car was still overheating. After several attempts to talk to Tony(he would never take my calls after I identified myself or return them) I had a local mechanic diagnose the problem as combustion gasses leaking into the cooling system. Since Tony refused to talk to me and I wasn't going to tow the car back down 200 miles, we decided to remove the heads to determine what was leaking. We found several head bolts were loose and none had been torqued down. The shifting of the heads caused the leakage and thus the overheating. I've now spent in excess of $2,500 to correct the problems and I'm still finding more that wasn't done or done improperly. And Tony still won't return my calls or reimburse me. I'm very disappointed to say the least!

I called talked to Tony about a vibration when driving my car...He told me they could take care of it and it would not be over $500.00 so I made appointment and dropped my car Tony called when it was finished he was very good at explaining what they did. Balanced drive shafts and replaced 2 bearings. I asked for the bearings and he gave them to me (did not look bad ) Total charge came out to almost $800.00. After getting in my car and driving problem not gone car still felt the same. Called and told him it was not fixed I returned a few days later and Tony and I went for a test ride and he admitted it was not fixed. Told me he would be calling me after making some calls to someone that might be able to help figure out the problem and also would put it on a machine to see if that would work. Said he would be calling me as soon as he made the calls. Told him I could drop it off anytime. I thought I would be getting a call within a few hours. This was mid November I called 2 times and left messages for him and still have not heard back. I will say That Tony is a very nice person but seem to have to much on his plate. While waiting to pickup my car he got pulled in 3 different directions before getting to me.

These guys are very knowledgeable, have very good customer service and they keep a well organized, clean place. I had my ls heads resurfaced with valve cleaning and new seals also had the trunions in my rocker arms replaced. It seemed like they were very busy when I dropped my heads off and still managed to get them to me in 2 days. Keep up the good work y’all, I will be back for more!

This is the place. There aren't a lot of machine shops around anymore, and there's a reason Don's has survived. They do top notch work, and know how to advise their customers.

They rebuilt my marine carburator 3 times and told me that I have to check the fuel pressure and I spent more money on that just to find the pressure was good. I ended up rebuilding the carb myself and the entire time the float was out of spec by a lot. That was a waste of my time and money. Thanks for the rip off.
