Fair. Honest. The epitome of southern hospitality. This is how I'd describe the gentlemen at Donelson Auto Clinic. My car broke down while I was vacationing in Nashville. The guys at Donelson were able to answer all my questions over the phone and get my car looked at within an hour. Even though they could not fix the problem with my car, they connected me with a local dealership who could fix the computer problem in my car. Great people and quality service are hard to come by and I was thoroughly impressed by this company.

They were very nice at the beginning, but super rude at the end. I took my car there because my engine light came on. The light turned back on three times, which I had to take back to the their shop three times after they attempted to fix it; at the end it was an issue they couldn’t fix. When I went to pick up my car and pay for what I owed, the guy there was so rude. I asked if that what the last thing they did on the invoice, and he was like, “This is what we have done up to this point which is way more than what you owe us. I have somewhere to be, so I’d like to make this really quick. You can pick up you key”. He didn’t even give me my key from the wall, I had to go get my own key. I am not sure what his problem was, but If they wanted to charge me more they could have told me upfront what they really wanted to charge then I could have looked somewhere else. Oh, and my car is still not fixed. I will not go back.

If there were zero stars I would have used that. I don't trust mechanics and after reluctantly using this shop I'm reminded that they are not to be trusted. Total crooks. They may have fixed the issue, I don't know because I only got about ten miles when I over heated and saw that the radiator hose had been disconnected and not reconnected at all. When I called to complain I was told that they didn't do it (So I guess I did, less then 24 hours after leaving the shop because I just had nothing better to do besides sit on the side of the road with my son, waiting for the tow truck). He asked when I would bring it in, to which I assured him that my car would not be anywhere near his shop again. His only response was exactly what I expected "So what was the point of your call?" DON'T DO IT!!!! If you can't repair it yourself, take it to a dealer. It might cost more up front but places like this will get you in the end. This is one of those shops that must get "creative" to get repeat customers....like sabotaging someones car through either greed or incompetence. Whichever it is I don't care, glad I learned this lesson.

My Toyota Tacoma had a check engine light, so I took it in for diagnostics. Donelson Auto Clinic told me it was the Mass Airflow Sensor and would be $606, which is an insanely high quote for this repair. I paid Donelson Auto Clinic’s $180 diagnostic fee and replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor myself. The check engine light came right back on, so I took the truck to Toyota for a second opinion. The Mass Airflow Sensor was never the issue, it was a leaking intake manifold gasket.

Charged us 125$ instead of 30-60$ (as he said). Fixed the issue with windshield washer nozzles but I got leakage from washer hoses that I didn't have before and the man said that he doesn't have time to fix it now and that I got what I wanted. I just wonder for what they checked my car for several hours previous day then...I don't know who the owner of this place and if he checked reviews but he should pay attention what people say because if you get such service you don't have a wish to go there again

My husband and I stopped here during our cross-country move from VA to NV: one of our cars showed an engine light on the dashboard. Our car wouldn’t turn on, but after a while it did turn on. Meanwhile waiting for the car to turn on, I called Mike at Donelson and asked if we could tow our car to his shop and he readily said yes. He was honest and gave me a time frame. Overall, their service was honest, friendly, and great. Thank you, Mike and team!

I own a truck that’s always giving me trouble, and I’ve always brought in here for 3 reasons. 1) Trust. The people and the owner are always fair, honest, and upfront about not only what is wrong with the vehicle but what the repair cost will be before anything is done. 2) Fantastic Customer Service. I’ve brought my truck in, and when they could not diagnose the problem yet they gave me a call and did not charge, even after hours of labor trying to find the source of the issue (I brought it in a couple weeks later and they found the problem). 3) Price. The pricing is always reasonable and there are never any hidden charges. Thank you Mr. Hoffman!

I was wary when I started looking for a shop because I've been taken advantage of by enough mechanics in the past. I'm so glad I found Donelson Auto Clinic, or rediscovered it I should say from about 15 years ago when I had some work done there. They had been highly recommended for doing good honest work. I found that to be true then so I was happy to learn they were still open after all these years. I need a dependable vehicle so I'd rather pay a fair price that allows them to do quality work with quality parts than go to someone who doesn't care if I have problems down the road. I asked them to give my truck a good checkup and they knew I was willing to put some money into it. They could have taken advantage of that but instead told me how good everything looked. Mike, the owner, said he would have loved finding something that needed to be fixed but since he didn't, he wasn't going to spend my money on things that didn't need to be done. I can’t say enough about their ethics and I highly recommend them.

They ripped me off! Don't take your car to this place. Beware of Donelson Auto Clinic. We payed them 600 dollars and the problem continued, so we took it back to give them the opportunity to fix it, and guess what? They wanted 900 more dollars to fix a problem that they couldn't find the first time. My car still isn't fixed and they had the nerve to charge me 93 dollars just to get my car back! Thanks a lot! I hope people see this review and you lose business because I lost a lot of money thinking they were honest mechanics.

Honest and Fair!!! Highly recommend! Ran into some serious vehicle issues while in the area 9 hours from home. They were very helpful and cooperative and got me in very fast. Also were very honest about what needed to be done and what I could get by with to get back home. Extremely pleased with my experience. Thank you again!

I brought my old jeep in for them to look at and the amount of work that they put into it to make sure everything was fixed properly was above and beyond. Also, everything was reasonably priced. I am recommending them to everyone I know.

I can’t recommend this shop enough! After being told by another mechanic that I needed a brand new engine ($8–10k!) based on one vague diagnostic metric, I brought my car here for a second opinion based on a friend's recommendation. Trevor took the time to do a thorough assessment and quickly realized the engine wasn't totaled. He explained everything clearly, answered all our questions with patience, and made sure we fully understood what was going on, what he recommended, and what repairs he would be doing. The total cost ended up being under $2k to fix the actual issue and get my windows working again!—far from the massive bill we were bracing for. On top of that, Trevor was incredibly generous with his time, even talking with us about other vehicle options since I’m in the market for a new car soon. It’s rare to find someone so honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. This is the kind of place that earns your trust for the long haul.

Called for an oil change. Wanted “over $300.” 🤣 I get that it’s an uncommon oil, but it only costs about $80-$100. Service is usually around $30-$40. This is the reason most customers don’t trust mechanics. Response: that oil at Autozone is $12/qt retail, filter is $20. 6x12=72 + 20 is $92.
