As someone who knows very little about cars, I have always been very wary about trusting a shop with my vehicles. That being said, I cannot imagine taking my car anywhere else after this. The work they do is stellar and they are so honest with me about their processes and prices. They always explain what they are seeing and what needs to be done. They really go above and beyond. I trust them completely and that is saying alot coming from me.

Got a quote from the local VW Dealer on performing my 30k Service on my VW Golf and seemed a little high so after some searching on the web came across Dowell Automotive. Called in to get a quote on what the dealer would have been doing for my service. Dan was awesome he asked me a couple questions about my vehicle and then told me he would give me a call back in a few minutes with a quote no other place that I called even asked me about my vehicle. It was considerably cheaper than at the dealer and ended up coming in under the quote that he had initially given me. After asking them to check out my front brakes which were squealing a bit, Sean the tech that worked on my car told me me that the brakes would function fine but if the squealing started to get super annoying we would need to replace the front brakes with stock pads since the dealer that I had purchased the vehicle from had went cheap on the pads. I will definitely be bringing my car back to Dowell Automotive.

My car broke down, and I had it towed to Dowell. Within a few hours they called and were honest with me that there were several issues and it probably was not going to be worth the cost of fixing it. They easily could have played the game where they fix one problem and 'find' another one along the way until I ended up paying for all of the repairs, but they didn't, and for that I am grateful. I plan on using Dowell for any of my future repair needs.

First Thing i would like to say is that this shop is AWESOME!!! i work for the wabash center and was having trouble with my main delivery trucks and after a few other places that we called the people at Dowell Automotive was nice enough to fit me in there busy schedule this was also late on a monday and needless to say they had the truck done by wednesday and i was back on the road !! very nice staff like they have known you for years. all the techs are good at what they do for sure !! i would recommend for all your needs ..in the future they will be my first call .. 5 stars are not enough they are for sure a 10 star company..

It's too bad I cannot give Dan and the staff ten stars, I have taken 3 different vehicles to Dowell Automotive for service over the years, the work they do is exceptional and in my humble opinion the prices were reasonable and fair, I've never left Dowell Automotive feeling cheated or taken advantage of. Customer service on one of the vehicles Dan and the staff went above and beyond my expectations (thanks guys) I don't care if one of Dan's competitors were offering free service I would still pay the money and take my vehicles to Dowell Automotive and have the work done correctly. Automotive repair shops are like Doctors and Dentists once you find a good one you don't switch nobody works on my vehicles but Dowell automotive, I trust them completely and I don't trust anyone.

One of the most honest mechanics I have ever met. Took my vehicle in to get the engine rebuilt, fully expecting and prepared for the large cost associated. They did a diagnostic on it first an it turned out to be a small issue that was fixed quickly and very cheaply. The engine now runs fantastic. He is quite busy sometimes, but that is because the work he does is very good. Very highly recommend, will be the only place I will every take my vehicle from now on!

Want to give a shout out to Dowell Automotive. We had a youth conference at our church Sunday-Tuesday New Year’s Eve. A church from 4 hours away had bus issues on Monday afternoon. We call Dowell they said they could look at it. Not only did they get us in Monday afternoon they had the bus fixed and back to them by 10:00 am on Tuesday. We all Thank you for getting this fixed and back to them so they could get home when we let out at noon. I will be using them for sure in the future.

My truck is a Peterbilt 337 with a 22-foot aluminum bed and fixed rails, and it’s no joke to work on. From day one, they rebuilt my truck from the heads and injectors, and they’ve always been there when I needed them. I faced a critical issue when an injector hung open in another state, causing a drop in compression on a cylinder. They handled it expertly! Working on a Peterbilt, especially with its complex electrical systems, is no easy task, but Joe and Phil have consistently tackled every challenge with unmatched skill. I had to have some serious engine work done on my truck. The folks at Dowell were great to deal with. Very open with the issues, honest, and provided clear discussion of options, and just an overall great experience. To give you some idea, the mechanic invited me out to the shop floor to show me exactly what he found, showed me the damaged parts, and clearly explained what we needed to do get back on the road. I also felt the price was very fair for the amount of work they did. This is definitely my shop of choice moving forward.
