Worst service I've ever had in Santa Barbara. I went in for a tune up and transmission work paid almost $600 and two weeks later my car was in worse condition. They said to bring it back in again but unfortunately the mudslides prevented me from taking in immediately. A month later I finally got it in and they couldn't figure out what was wrong, they called me and admitted to me that they are Not knowledgeable with ford trucks so they had to get help from Powell garage. Then they said they would be replacing the coil and when I got it back they said they didn't and won't unless I pay more. The owner, Hector, did not care that they couldn't figure out was wrong. now I'm at a loss of $600 and my truck now even worse problems than it did before. I just wish they would of told me from the beggining that they don't know how work on ford rangers. I usually don't write reviews on anything but I need to warn the rest of SB not to go to them. If the owner was nice about it too then I wouldn't care but the fact that he obviously had no remorse for their bad work and wanted to charge me more shows that they probably won't be in business much longer with service standards like that.

I've been a customer for over six years and during the past two years their service has drastically declined: 1) They tripled my oil change fees 2) They replaced my engine mount which failed several months later and they had to do it again. 3) They charged me $250 to "fix" my a/c and fill it with refrigerant but when I returned home it was still broken. When I brought the car back first thing this morning for my appointment, they failed to work on it at all, and told me it was fine, even though only hot air was blowing. I paid $250 for nothing. I believe they were trying to dodge their work warranty. Now I have to go to another shop to pay to have the A/C repaired again. 4) They sent CARFAX an incorrect odometer reading for my car -- they were off by 10,000 miles and I had to have them and CARFAX fix this. They also failed a second time to notate my odometer reading to CARFAX so there is no mileage showing at all for that second repair. 7) They hiked their labor rates extensively. 8) Whereas years ago, they were friendly and helpful, they are now surly, rude, and off-putting. I had been a very loyal customer for several years and was so hurt and disappointed that they've turned into an absolutely dreadful place to bring a car to for repair. BE FOREWARNED!

Driving from the SF bay area to go camping at lake Cachuma we noticed the transmission and clutch we having issues. They were able to take it in Thursday afternoon and get it turned around for us super quick the next day. We also noticed the clutch felt a little spongy Sunday. We called them first thing Monday with our truck loaded up and they were able to get us in first thing. They bled the system of air and everything was great! Huge job and they were amazing ! Saved our camping trip and got us on our way home safe and sound. Fair prices and very honest! Highly recommended.

Hector and the crew absolutely helped me out with a stressful situation. I’m in from out of town and Saturday morning, my starter went out on my Toyota Tacoma. Even though they had a short workday (1pm on Sat), he ordered up the part, got it installed and had me on my way before 1 o’clock! Knowing most service places are closed on Sunday, he absolutely saved the day. I had to depart town early Sunday morning so I’m truly grateful. I absolutely recommend these guys for your auto service needs.

Hector always says 1 thing , especially on prices, and then it becomes something else. Told me $60 for a realignment, charged me $80. Asked to flush out my transmission , never did & charged me for it! Got my gaskets replaced, just days later they are falling off and leaking. I bring my car back to redo, gets pushy and has attitude, been a week since they "fixed" the screw up and already back to leaking and had to take elsewhere. Not reliable! They had my car for over a week and up on the rack, hardly did any of the work I employed them for, didn't even notice or warn me that my controller arms were about to snap, 1 actually did and my wheel fell off while moving and could have killed me ! On top of that they charged me $150 (does not take 90 mins to do!) to just install a new fan shroud & throw in a new windshield wiper pump (which they didn't even hook up correctly - had to redo elsewhere!) An did not give me my original parts back which I needed , just kept or tossed my stuff. Such BS! Very very sloppy in here, rush people and jobs because they have a good location and get busy - Overcharge for labor. The whole 9. Find another spot

Excellent Customer Service and honest hardworking staff. Been coming here for the last four years. Recently got new tires else where and they told me I needed new brakes. Their quote was $1250. I then took it to Hector and the staff at Figueroa. Brakes, rotors, oil change, and alignment at half the cost. These guys know what they're doing. Thank you again, sad to be moving, wish I could take this shop with me.

This place is fantastic! Hector and Danny are consummate professionals. I have taken many cars here over the years and I've always been treated fairly with no up sell. Location is Central to downtown and has a big parking lot. They work on all types of cars and give fair and reasonable pricing. Amazing service. As others have pointed out honest, hardworking staff. I have visited them 5-6 times, every time the service was exceptional. I usually do not write reviews, but these guys definitely deserve it. I just got a flat tire near Costco yesterday, and some have suggested to buy new tires at Costco, but I decided to drive on the small spare back to Figueroa guys as my tires were only 1.5 years old and they fixed the tire for 15 dollars! In Santa Barbara in 2017! Thanks again on excellent service.

I am new to the area and had some concerns with my vehicle, my very old vehicle. As far as I knew it could have been a major problem that cost a lot of money to fix. I called the morning that I dropped it off and they were able to fit me in that day. I was expecting to spend a good bit to fix it, and wouldn't have thought much of it. However, it ended up being an easy fix. Not only that, they did a lot of things to help that they didn't charge me for, like knocking the rust off the rear suspension to stop a really annoying squeak that was happening. Hector was amazing, and so helpful. He proved that he's an honest mechanic that's not going to overcharge. He gained a customer for life that day.

Just picked up my Tahoe from Hector and Danny today and boy was I surprised. Not only did they get the job done a full day ahead of time, they came in $300 under whats was quoted. They also did a tire rotation for free. Who does that in this town? These guys do. They had every opportunity to up sell me on my engine fix.... but they did not. Being the straight up honest hard working Americans that they are they changed the spark plugs another automotive shop had put in and it instantly made the engine return to normal... no more misfires. I was expecting that fix to run into the thousands but because they are so honest and sincere i decided to then get some non critical additional work done. Hector and Danny did an outstanding job on my Tahoe. I will be using them for all my automotive repair needs and will be recommending them to family and friends. Thanks again Hector and Danny!

Recently took my 1996 Acura Figueroa Street Auto Care after having searched reviews and calling several shops. I decided on Fig St Auto after speaking with Hector. I needed a starter motor replacement which is no minor undertaking on my car. The CV axel and front end suspension components needed to be removed in order to get to the starter motor. I needed my car back by the weekend as I was going out of town. Hector said he would get it done. I brought the car in on Tuesday an hour before closing. I get a call on Wednesday at 3:00 with Hector saying it was done. I was thrilled. Everything works perfectly! When Hector quoted me the price it was reasonable. The finished job turned out to be less. How often does that happen? Figueroa Street Auto Care has a new and loyal return customer now. I recommend it highly. Dan

This place is amazing!! I was 3000 miles from home when my brakes started grinding Thursday evening. I was planning to head back home the next morning so first thing I did was call them at 8am. He took me in right away and was done in 2 hours. Saved me so much stress! Talked to the owner and he was such a nice guy. Found out that my granny has actually been here before.
