I recently moved to this area and was looking for a mechanic. I went with this Firestone because of the big brand name and I thought that my car would be in good hands. I went in because I had a coolant leak, an engine light and hesitation. Long story short I went in five times. My car is worse and I paid over $1,500.00 for nothing. The problems supposedly that my car was diagnosed with are still there. At the end, they pretty much brushed me off and told me to go to the car dealer. I guess they couldn’t figure out what the problem was. I wish I wouldn’t went to the car dealer the first time around and paid them. Very disappointed.

I took my car for tire rotation. They told me that my front inner tire rod was bent and it needed to be replaced before they can rotate my tires. It would be $485 for the service and part. I agreed to do it and would be 2 hours to get it done. When I came back 2 hours later, they said they ordered the wrong size for my tire rod. Not only did that upset me, but my instinct told me not to have them do it. So I called Great American Tires in Lindenhurst, my regular auto shop, and got an appointment to have them take a look at my car. I found out that there was nothing wrong with my tires at all. Thank you for the honest autoshop that I didn't have to pay almost $500 for the job that is not necessary. I will not take my car to Firestone in Round Lake Beach again because they are dishonest and incompetent.

I requested an appointment for an oil change on Sunday evening for the following day, and I received a confirmation text Monday morning for a 5:30pm appointment. When I arrived, I was told that they didn't have the filter that my car needed, and that it was store policy to not order parts until the customer is there. I have never heard of this type of policy before, and it doesn't make any sense to not prepare for the scheduled services. The store had a full day to ensure the filter my car needed was there and ready, or contact me if that would not be possible. The rep I was speaking with called a couple of other locations, and he was told it would be at least an hour for someone to bring them the filter. We ended up rescheduling my appointment for Wednesday at 5:30pm, and the rep said he was able to pre-order the filter so it would be there on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I didn't receive the reminder text like I had for my initial appointment, so I called the store to make sure everything was all set for me to still arrive at 5:30pm. The rep said it was fine, and I asked if they had the filter there because that was why I had to reschedule. He said, "Uh yeah we'll have it..". This was a very disorganized and unprofessional experience. They did end up having the filter when I arrived, but a store policy of not ordering parts until the customer is there is ridiculous. I heard the man in front of me get told the same policy for a different service he was trying to schedule.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE- do yourself a favor and find a different company to work with. I had an extremely disappointing experience at Firestone. We brought our vehicle in for new tires and left with damaged rims. What’s worse is that no one mentioned it to us — they attempted to return the car as if nothing had happened. After pointing it out, they “fixed” the rims. Unfortunately, the repairs were not done correctly. We had to bring the car back three separate times, and each time they tried to return it to us saying it was fixed when it clearly was not. This should have been a straightforward tire replacement, but instead it turned into multiple trips, wasted time, and ongoing frustration. The lack of attention to detail, poor workmanship, and failure to be upfront about the damage is extremely concerning. Very disappointed in the service and the way this situation was handled from start to finish. I would not trust them with my vehicle again.
