Towed my car over for an estimate. After a voicemail at work I called back the next day to let them know I couldn't afford the repair. Gary's response was that he had already done the work without my consent and that he would be holding my car until I could pay the sum. Long story short I was appalled and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Gary wants your money period. He's an old salty guy that does things old school so if you're as salty as him you might click. If you're looking for good customer service I'd go elsewhere, he's only looking for a paycheck.

Had these guys fix a radiator in my car and truck. They put an aftermarket in my car with a unit that was supposed to be mounted to the radiator. Instead of mounting it they let it ride on the bottom of the car engine splash cover. While my wife was driving on the freeway it pushed the cover underneath the car and ripped the guard to shreds. I had to pay the dealership to fix this and mount the unit. For my truck they did a shoddy install and didn't check or replace the lines running the coolant. Either that or they used the wrong coolant. Either way the line developed a leak and I will get to repair that myself. I have stopped using mechanics altogether in the treasure valley because they all seem to be junk or con artists. Do it yourself people. Its easier and you get to keep the tools knowing that you did a GOOD and CORRECT job that wont cost more down the road.

Gary's has been very helpful to me on many occasions. Recently I purchased a used vehicle and paid Robert to change all fluids and install new timing belt, thermostat, fuel filter and other components. The work was done fast and honestly. I was referred to Robert and his crew months ago. When I first went in, I had issues with my 2011 dodge durango. He was super nice, professional, and genuinely wanted to help me out. Before the work was even done, I had to come back and forth to the shop multiple times because It was a unique issue that was tough to diagnose. He stuck with me and we finally got the root issue fixed, and I left SUPRISED that I didnt have to pay more for the time he spent with me on this. Robert seems to be a great guy, and he has a solid crew who knows what they are doing. I am now bringing my dodge, and my hyundai into him for any maintenance and/or repairs that need to be done. I wont go anywhere else.

Quality workmanship at a reasonable price, done in a timely manner. Gary and his son take pride in there work and it shows both on the vehicle and on the bill. If you want to be treated fairly by honest gentlemen with a high degree of integrity this is the place for you. I don't know what the gentleman who stated they didn't do free estimates is talking about. He must have been a jerk when he arrived. They treated myself and my wife with respect and consideration. They preformed an inspection and gave us an estimate in a matter of minutes. We made an appointment and they were ready for us when we arrived. I had my wife check on a brake job and new shocks at two other places. Then we took it to Gary's Place and he replaced everything using exactly same parts for almost $400 dollars less than quoted at franchise stores. The work was fast so the labor was less and we weren't slammed with a huge mark up on parts. We now do business there whenever the need arises . These people are good, if you have any questions get an estimate from where you are used to doing business and then check with Gary. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
