After the experience we had in SC, it was nice to deal with professionals. JR was great at keeping us informed of the progress of our vehicle and in making sure we were completely satisfied with the repairs when we picked it up. The man that did the repairs did a phenomenal job. There was $9500 worth of damage to my car and it looks like it just came off the assembly line. Kudos to all that work at this location. I would definitely go back there, if there was ever a need in SC. Thanks John Harris for an excellent job!

I had a wonderful experience with John Harris. Not often did you get good customer service. The people that work in the front we're so friendly and knowledgeable about their jobs. Took my truck in for repairs after being involved in a collision with another motorist. The process between my insurance and this location was seamless, They scheduled my appt within a week and sent several text msg on the completion date, which was suppose to be on the 28th of Feb. However my truck was fully painted and completed the very next week, and the quality was well above average. We had a couple of hiccups afterward but Gerber quickly remedy the issue with no problems. If you’re looking for quality work and 5 star customer service take your vehicle here.

Update: Was contacted by Mr. Patrick shortly after this review. He apologized and asked for a chance to make things right, and they did just that. I’m very pleased with the repairs that were done to my car, they really did an excellent job. They also did a great job with keeping us updated on the progress while it was there being repaired, and the customer service received from Jennifer was much better. Original: Very disgusted by the customer service I received over the phone from Jennifer a few days ago. Called to make sure that this location takes my insurance and was told that none of the locations accept Farm Bureau. So I tried to explain to Jennifer that the Irmo location had emailed over the estimate to her a few days prior so that I can get my car repaired sooner at this location, and I wanted to see if she could just email them back letting them know they don’t take my insurance and to see if they could still get me in next Tuesday at the Irmo location. Well Jennifer very abruptly cut me off and stated “I don’t care” before even hearing what I had to say. I absolutely do NOT recommend this location due to the poor customer service and lack of care. I really hope some customer service and professionalism training is in the works for Ms. Jennifer.

We had an accident and the insurance company gave Us this repair shop. From the time we arrived until the car repair was complete EVERYONE was great. The communication from the front desk and the alerts every Tuesday and Thursday left Us at ease. The auditor was very thorough with Us on the repairs and what we saw wasn’t right. The detail of making sure all cameras were working since the repair was exceptional. I pray we never get in another car accident but if we do hands down will be our forever place for repairs. Thank you Gerber Staff. Greatly appreciated.

I had a very disappointing experience with Gerber Collision, specifically with the worker named Jennifer, and the Manager that i spoke with on the phone. When I first spoke with Jennifer, she assured me that I wouldn't need to pay a deductible for my car repair. However, when I arrived to pick up my car, she suddenly insisted that I pay the deductible before I could take car. This inconsistency was frustrating and unprofessional. I felt misled and inconvenienced. It's really unfortunate that the staff didn't have clear communication or follow through on their promises. I would not recommend this location based on this experience. The repairs was ok. I just took the car. Because i needed the car back. I recommend anyone that is reading this to find someone else that will communicate better and do a better job with collision repair.

Final price 50% higher then original estimate. Car was completed on time . Unfortunately won’t go back due to very inaccurate estimate. There were other shops that quoted me lower prices then what it turned not to be here. Feel like they gave me lower price just to get my business then raised by 50% once car taken apart knowing they had me.

They replaced my rear door and the wiper, I check to see if the wiper would working properly beforehand . However two weeks later rear wiper was not working. Had to take it back two more time and still was not working. It only got worst, could hear wiper motor trying work but only fluid was coming out. They did not fix it, taking it to another auto shop.

Gerber took much of the pain out of getting in a car accident. The at fault party's insurance recommended them, set me up with an appointment and stopped communicating. Fortunately, the staff at Gerber called to verify the appointment and let me know what to expect. From the moment that I handed the keys over, they did a phenomenal job of communicating. I was told that they would likely have an estimate for the time of completion of the repair by the end of the next day. The next day, they sent a text letting me know that parts had to be ordered and when they would likely be ordered. Each step of the way: parts, paint, reassemblly and completion, the were was excellent communication. The best part: they did a fantastic job on my car and it looks great! Definitely would recommend!

They do NOT even deserve this 1 star. Took my vehicle in 8/25/25 to have a claim done. Here it is 9/10/25 and still nothing sent to the insurance company. They told the insurance company that it's at their shop when in fact it's in my yard because they took a couple of photos and sent it home with a busted windshield. I have called my insurance claims department several times to be told that Gerber told them they would expedite the requested information but as of today still nothing received from them. I know I'm just 1 person but I wouldn't take another vehicle to their shop!!

Having vehicles fixed from minor/major collisions across multiple states, my experience with this repair shop was the worst I have ever experienced. Communication and Customer Service were truly awful. For context I had my 2023 BMW 230i worked on after a large rock went through my grill and dented my radiator. The repair shop pushed out the completion date on four occasions without notifying me on each occasion. Upon calling the shop each time to get an update It took on average an hour each time to get a substantive update on my vehicle. There was never a proactive call to let me know about potential delays or issues with acquiring parts. On the final delay after taking off work to pick up my vehicle I was not notified until calling in that my vehicle would Not be completed that day. I spent about three hours in total that day on the phone with various individuals all with a different answer on what caused the delay. Upon picking up my vehicle the following day, the bumper was not attached correctly, there as a fault code for my headlights, and the grill insert was not installed correctly. The manager was apologetic for my experience and stated he understood how unacceptable My experience was with the shop, however he offered nothing to compensate me for the experience. I would not recommend this shop to my worst enemy.

This was one of the few local places progressive offered repairs at, so I chose it because of the good reviews. Customer service was good, process was easy, and they kept me updated on repairs. However, all that is meaningless when the work they completed was NOT good at all. I had a very simple repair, bumper replacement and a taillight replacement. They did a great job color matching the new bumper but failed to install it properly! After taking it back to the shop, the "fixed" this issue. Soon after I realized there was another bracket broken, a piece of sound insulation that they never reinstalled, lose screws lying in my trunk, and several other trim pieces not installed and had gotten buried in the springs that lift my trunk causing them to bind and make horrible noises. Not to mention my taillight is still very noticeably pushed into my car more than the non-accident side. I will be fixing the rest of their issues on my own since the only thing I wasn't able to do was paint the bumper myself. Would not recommend you take your car here if you care about your car at all, because it seems they didn't give a shit about mine! The most ridiculous part was they even mentioned how well my car has been taken car of for its age then proceed to think that I wouldn't notice such a big mess up. I know they knew (at least the technician that worked on mine) it wasn't installed properly due to the order of installation. Shame. Whoever worked on my car shouldn't have a job in the car industry.
