I can’t say enough good things about German Autowerkes. Vince and his team are highly skilled and honest. I searched North County SD and found this shop to be clean, organized and they communicate well. I don’t need to take my Beemer anywhere else. German Autowerkes is the shop you’ve been looking for!

It took me two years to find German Autowerke after moving to Oceanside but it was worth the wait. The owner, Vincent, is super-knowledgeable about all things automotive and the entire staff is well-versed in repair. I have found them to not only be extremely professional when it comes to diagnosing my Fiat's issues, but am very pleased with how honest they have always been with me. No extraneous charges, no nebulous problems with the vehicle without an apparent cause, no hoodwinking a naive female. Finding a highly competent mechanic with genuine integrity is truly priceless. And I love their new location on Ord Way. Keep up the great work!

Great experience all around. Friendly staff. Reliable mechanics. They deliver exactly what they promise. No bait and switch. No multiple trips to the shop because they can’t reproduce the problem I’m experiencing. I’ll never take my vehicles anywhere else.

We have two VWs and have been going to German Autowerke for a few years now. I do the small maintenance on our cars but take it here for the larger jobs or troubleshooting. I have not been disappointed. The most recent job they found one of the cylinders miss firing and I made the repair at home. I’m glad they moved to a larger shop.

Researched in person most of the German mechanics in the Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista area. As you, I'm particular about who works on my vehicle. It doesn't just come down to technical experience and expertise. My check list includes trust, integrity, pricing, reliability, and a sense of comfort and patience with customers like me who may possess a degree of mechanical ignorance. The customer service from Vince's assistant, to mechanics, and even other customers exceeded my expectations. Vince possesses strong problem-solving skills, excellent diagnostic abilities, a keen attention to detail, and strong, very strong communication skills, what appears as a strong work ethic and just an ability to build absolute trust.

VW Tiguan would not start and had a coolant leak. Initially took to another shop who after some diagnosis could not figure out the starting issue. and recommended German Autowerks. After towing the car there, the next day they provided a detailed estimate of what they would check, at a reasonable diagnostic fee. The quickly diagnosed a bad Start switch and Emergency Brake switch. After getting it to start they found the water pump leak and replaced it. They found a few other items needing attention and provided estimates and priorities for each. All-in-all a good experience with an honest, very professional and knowledgeable team.

Came in with an older Mercedes and not only did they correctly find the issue, they sourced the replacement parts and installed them the same day. For foreign parts they were remarkably affordable and the staff was friendly and professional. The waiting area was nice and coffee was available while I waited.

I am a 20 year plus customer of German Autowerke. They have seen me through some challenging times with my Mercedes Benz. They are there for their customers. Good value is offered for the quality of service that is provided. You can trust that your car will get the highest and best service in their new facility. They put customer care above all else Barbara Kerr

German Autowerke is the only place I take my 2011 Diesel BMW. Thanks to them, my car is at 230k miles and running smooth! They give accurate diagnosis and don’t nickel and dime you. I’ve been a customer since about 2017.

This was my first visit to German Autowerke. What an absolutely wonderful experience it was. First, every single employee with whom I interacted or simply passed by, said hello. Paige at the desk is incredible. Second, in less than a hour they diagnosed and fixed an issue with a mysterious smell my car was making. Something my former shop failed miserably to do after having my car for over a week. Third, pointed out PM items without pushing for another service appointment. (some of the items were things that my former shop supposedly "fixed"). Fourth, pricing seemed just about what I expected from a quality shop that's not a dealership. I definitely don't wish to have further service issues, but it is a 14 year old BMW so I will. And now I have a trustworthy place to take it.

The service and responsiveness of German Autowerke is second to none 5-star. The only gripe I have is a mandatory ~$250 entire car diagnostic charge. The diagnostic is comprehensive, resulting in a list of optional recommended fixes. However, it is not optional. Adding this fee to the overall bill makes the actual fix for what you needed to be done, that much more expensive.

I had a great experience with Vince at German Autowerke. His service was excellent, and his response time was outstanding. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure all my concerns were addressed. Professional, reliable, and efficient—highly recommend Vince and German Autowerke for quality service.

German Autowerke delivers top-tier service without the dealership nonsense. Their pricing is competitive, transparent, and far better than what I’ve seen at (Audi) big-name shops. The customer service is outstanding, friendly, honest, and genuinely focused on helping rather than upselling. They took the time to explain everything clearly, kept me updated throughout the process, and had my car back to me quicker than expected. If you want expert work, fair pricing, and zero dealership jargon, German Autowerke is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Had my 2013 Audi A6 serviced here the last 2 years and will be coming back yearly. They are experienced and knowledgeable for all German makes. Reasonable prices and most importantly they aren’t pushy. Will do exactly what you ask. Of course always recommend extras, but no doom and gloom. Very trustworthy.

Great job as always. Finished on time and within the estimate. Best choice in the area for sure! Got four new Michelin tires at the same price as the big tire shops. Mounted and balanced there, saving me another service appointment elsewhere. Keep up the good work!!

Reposting. I had my BMW X3 repaired at German Autowerks and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Vince, Paige, and Jeremy were excellent to work with—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. They took the time to clearly explain the issues, kept me informed throughout the repair process, and delivered exactly what they promised. The work was done right and on time. It’s rare to find a shop that’s this honest, skilled, and truly cares about its customers. Highly recommend German Autowerks, and a big thank you to Vince, Paige, and Jeremy for the outstanding service.

Hoping it’s just “Growing Pains” but very poor experience this time at German Autowerke. Wrong part ordered which caused a delay, brake sensor not put on because “it arrived incorrectly and I wanted to pick up my car.” It took 2 trips, 3 days, for my repair that should have been a day. The mechanic in back missed a simple windshield wiper fluid neck replacement; he ordered the body- not the neck. I was told the front desk miswrote out the order- but why didn’t he check; it was visible from opening the hood. Also the hood lift needed replacing which I wasn’t told until I was leaving. They recommended changing my front brakes but no call back with a quote. Additional, loaner car was given to me with < 5 gallons of gas and a check tire light on. I was appreciative of the loaner, but wished it was a safer vehicle. Vince, the owner, is very nice. I explained everything to him, but he failed to make the experience more bearable. I’d rather spend more money elsewhere and get the job done quickly, reliably, and have a safer loaner. Too bad- I like supporting small businesses. I hope they fix the problems in 2026.
