Lacks Integrity!!! Did repair on my car and used a zip tie to connect overdrive linkage. Two months later zip tie broke when on freeway causing transmission to downshift burning it up. When confronted would not repair.

Thank God Gil's Automotive was open on civil rights day, (1-16-17) . Check engine light was blinking off & on over the weekend , so Monday I called , he was open. He checked it out , told me what was wrong with my truck and worked it in the schedule, HONESTY & AFFORDABLE from a car doctor goes a long way . Blessings for your great work!

If you're looking for an honest mechanic, Gil is your guy! I had a check engine light on my 04 Toyota Camry. He ran the diagnostic and explained everything so that I could understand (ie. In plain english) and made the entire process so easy. He was up front about the cost of the parts and labor so there were no surprises on my bill. So if you aren't knowledgeable about vehicle repairs/problems, you can trust him not to rip you off or try and bill you for repairs you don't need. I will be a lifetime customer for sure.

I have been taking my cars to Gil's for several years and have always been very happy with his work. He never pushes to repair extra items. He always fixes the issue the first time and will let you know if he sees something you may need to have repaired later. Never any surprises on the bill and his rates are reasonable! 3 years after my first review and still going to Gil's and still very happy! He handles all my mechanical needs!

He will shame you for asking questions about your car or what could be wrong. He charges a decent price but, after getting my brakes fixed, I had to get new ones in just 4 months and 5000 miles. I would rather pay 10% more for better service and quality.

If you’re looking for an honest mechanic you’ve come to the right place hands down. I travel all the way from Tolleson to bring my cars and trucks to him. 2026- another great visit with Gil, honest quality work. Brought in our 2000 Toyota Camry. Tune up.

I highly recommend Gilbert Iglesias at Gil’s Automotive for any auto repair needs. In June, my car’s AC went from barely cooling to blowing hot air. I took it to at least three other shops and contacted several mobile mechanics (most of whom never even showed up). Every shop quoted me $2,500–$3,000 for a new air compressor, but none of them gave me a clear or trustworthy explanation. The diagnoses felt vague and dishonest—most of the mechanics came across as about as trustworthy as a politician. I left each place feeling uneasy. It’s not easy taking your car to a mechanic when you’re a woman and not familiar with cars or the terms being used. Too often, you feel talked down to or taken advantage of. Then my colleague referred me to her father, Gilbert. I checked his reviews and gave him a call. Right away, he came across as knowledgeable, compassionate, and honest. He took the time to answer my questions without ever making me feel rushed or “stupid” for asking. He confirmed the same diagnosis, but because he was so straightforward and genuine, I finally felt I could trust what I was being told. Even better, he quoted me just over $1,000 for the exact same repair that others tried to charge triple for. The vehicle he repaired was my BMW 5 Series, which had only ever been serviced at BMW dealerships until this point. Best of all, my car was fully repaired in about two hours. If you’re looking for an honest mechanic who truly knows his stuff, I can’t recommend Gilbert and Gil’s Automotive enough.
