Mike and Tony are a couple of stand up guys. I have gone to this brake shop for brakes, tires and oil changes. Never an issue, always treated well. Prices are good. Service has been good. Highly recommended!

I read negative and positive reviews from this brake shop, but gave it a try anyway. My mistake. I needed work done on my brakes, the white haired gentleman at the front who also answers the phone said they would take care of my brakes and it shouldn’t take more than a few hours. My brakes were squeaky when I brought them in, the owner called me and said in order to drive the car out of the shop it’s going to cost about $900. I agreed because he said that is the only option, and about an hour and a half later he called telling me the work was done. Looking at the receipt, he clearly gave me the most expensive replacement parts (carbon fiber brake pads etc) without offering any alternative. After paying and going home, instantly I continued to hear squeaking and took my car to another shop ( Car Fix in Shelby Township) to have them take a look. They confirmed that the brake pads were not carbon fiber, and said it looks like Brakes Xpress didn’t touch the front brakes at all. Car Fix in Shelby Township helped with the front brakes and cut me a good deal after hearing how badly I was ripped off by Brakes Express. I will go there from now on and recommend anyone to not give Brakes Express the opportunity to scam you. Looking back, I didn’t acknowledge any of the glaring red flags that the owner was giving off and I won’t make the same mistake again. Also I noticed the owner will angrily respond to negative reviews, another red flag I should have acknowledged and looked elsewhere. TLDR: this place overcharged me a lot of money, didn’t give me the parts that were on the receipt, and didn’t fix my problem. Go literally anywhere else and don’t listen to the good reviews that seem fake.

I heard good things about them from a friend so I took my car in for a new clutch. That was almost 2k but they did good. 6 months later, my car was smoking. I took it back and was given a list of almost 3k in repairs and told I'd get it back in a day or two and it would basically be like brand new. I was told it needed an oil change, a timing cover belt, cam seal, water pump, a tune-up, VVT timing sensor, the valve cover gaskets were leaking, and the cam shaft seals were ripped. A day or two went by and then and nothing. I grew impatient not being able to get my kids around and didn't want to pay for a rental if they weren't going to have it much longer, like they initially said. A few more days went by and after calling multiple times, I was then told it was now running worse than when I dropped it off - and I needed a new engine. Not sure what they did from the time I dropped it off to make it worse.. But frustrated, I agreed as I needed my vehicle back and operable. I was told they were ordering the engine from Ohio. It would be a week to get it and then again, a day or two to swap it. They'd also be installing the list of parts from earlier on the new, used engine?? I was told the engine was almost 3k and it would be 1k for labor. I asked about a loaner and was told it was actually due back the next day. Next day, nothing. It took days for them to call and say they still didn't have it, so they brought in one of the owner's shop trucks for inspection and I could use that in the meantime to transport my children. First off, there's a reason it's a shop truck, it's not safe, but it gets us from point A-B and I'm as safe as I can be behind the wheel so, so far, I'm blessed. 2 weeks after I was told they ordered it, I got a call saying the engine was arriving the following Monday and I'd hear directly from Tony, the owner. Thanks for keeping me informed. I'm really hoping this gets some attention, because I still haven't hard from Tony. It's now been another 4 weeks and I still don't have a clue what's going on or when I'll get my shit back, or even how much I owe these people. If you're good with delays, no communication and misinformation, they're your guys... I'm at the point where if I don't get answers soon, I can take further action if necessary.

I took my car to this shop and spent $1,300 on a radiator replacement, calipers, and an oil change, despite hearing mixed reviews from others. I figured, how bad could it be? Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Three days after picking up my car, I took it to my regular oil change place for peace of mind, and the mechanic informed me that the oil change was never done. To make matters worse, the wrong color fluid was used in the radiator, which could cause issues with my vehicle in the long run. When I called the shop to address these concerns, they were unapologetic. They admitted they might have “overlooked” the oil change but refused to issue any refund or fix the mistakes. After spending this much money, I expected better service and accountability. I won’t be going back, and I’d recommend others think twice before bringing their car here.

Had my brakes done here roughly a year ago. Kind enough to loan me a beater car for a day, definitely appreciated...Upsold me on getting new calipers which we did...Initially told me my back brakes were fine, however when I picked my vehicle up brakes were still grinding. I returned the car and had the rear done which in the end total cost paid was a little over $1k ...They broke some of the threads while removing the tires & told me they were going to fix them which to them I discovered meant finding a couple of lug nuts that fit on the broken threads & leaving a couple without lug nuts....Within a month it felt like something was dragging in the rear wheel wells...Here we are a little over a year later & my brakes are grinding again...It is what it is...Always listen to your intuition which at the time of service I ignored....Total waste of money spent at this establishment...No beauno....

I called on a Sunday to get my brakes changed and they were closed. But they were nice enough to come in and get it done. Good prices and great people. Mike(Owner) and Markie(Mechanic) explained the whole process and got me in and out. Definitely will be coming back.

Just recently had my brakes done on my ford fusion hybrid, they had the best prices, had my brakes done within a couple hours, and Eric (I think was his name) was very friendly, helpful and informed with his craft. Very impressed and satisfied with my choice!

Went in for brakes and was told I need a plethora of other work done totaling $1400. I said I just want my breaks done that’s it. The guy said I had to get everything done together all at once and that he couldn’t just do the brakes. He tried to get me to take out a loan for the repairs and he even asked me if I could borrow the money from someone else. I declined and told him I would go elsewhere. He got visibly upset and stated “either you get the work done here or I’m not giving you your keys back”. I called the cops and got my keys back. He thought he had a dummy!

I have all my used cars and trucks serviced here for the last 3 years. Everything Tony and his team does is amazing. They are quick to figure out any issue and make sound recommendations. All my shocks, brakes, alignments and everyday repairs I don't hesitate to have Goodyear Express handle it. I'd recommend them to anyone! Very speedy repairs and always sets the right expectation. I had my window fixed over a year ago here. I paid over $380.00. This was the second time I had this repaired here. I was told they put a new motor in. It broke again. I took it to another shop this time. They had to replace the motor and stated the previous shop broke the cable and replaced it with a zip tie. When the zip tie broke, my window would not stay up. I would not ever use this shop again!

v Tony I. 03四0 10 minutes ago I took my car for a grinding noise that was coming from the rear. They looked at it and said that I need to replace the front brakes and it will cost me $475. I agreed. After I took the car back and drove for few days and noticed the same grinding noise coming from the rear. After I took my car back to them they looked at the rear brakes and said that I need to replace the rotor and the pads of the rear brake and it will cost me about $375. I told them that they should have replaced the rear brakes to begin with and I will pay nothing for it. They said that they couldn't do that. I told them that it was a ripoff and told them that I couldn't trust them anymore and walked out. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go

This review is long overdue! I’ve been bringing my cars to Tony for close to 10 years now—going back to when I had my 2008 Honda Fit. Since then, it’s been three vehicles and the service has always been the same: friendly, honest, and affordable. I never have to worry about bad work or “mystery issues” showing up after a visit. The car always comes back running perfect, and I know I’m in good hands. Tony and his team are a hardworking, trustworthy group, and I recommend them to anyone who wants a shop they can truly depend on.

I brought my car here in April for break work. I had $1000 of work done. In November I had low brake fluid. I had low brake fluid because they did not install my new calipers properly. Zip ties were used instead of real parts used to hold my car together.. when I brought my car back to them with concerns about the zip ties and the brakes not being fixed, they fixed it under warranty. While fixing my car they recommended my filters be replaced. I was quite shocked since I had a receipt showing I had brand new filters from November 2025. They seemed quite shocked by the receipt and everyone agreed filters shouldn’t be dirty within less than 3 months of use.. they are scammers trying to squeeze every dollar they can from a customer. As a person who knows absolutely nothing about cars I feel completely taken advantage of. They were hoping I was never going to notice the zip tie work and that I wouldn’t question them saying my filters needed replacing. Attached is the receipt for my filters from November 2025 along with how “dirty” they have gotten in the last 3 months that led them to recommend replacements. I have also attached pictures of the zip tie they used on my drivers side caliper.
