scheduled an oil change at this Grismer Tire location for 11:00 a.m., and it ended up taking two hours to complete, even though I was told it would be quick. While I was there, I also mentioned that my front driver’s side tire—one they had recently replaced (not this location but it doesn’t matter)—kept leaking air. They investigated and said the valve stem was bad, and told me they would replace it for me that same visit. Fast forward to recently, I had maintenance done at a different mechanic and mentioned that the same tire was still leaking. My mechanic confirmed that the valve stem was bad—despite Grismer supposedly replacing it just two months ago. Overall, this location was very slow, not dependable, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish.

Took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation in mid-June. The customer service seemed fine at the time. I was called and informed that my oil filter housing was failing and causing a small leak. I approved the additional repair work, which added a bit to the bill, but nothing major. After getting my vehicle back, I dropped it off at a body shop for unrelated work (just panel replacement and dent repair—nothing involving the engine bay or oil system). Not long after they started, the shop contacted me saying the car was leaking a lot of oil. When I picked it up, I checked the dipstick—it was bone dry. Thankfully, I had a couple quarts of oil on hand and was able to avoid running the engine dry. I scheduled a follow-up inspection and recall service at my local dealership. They sent a technician video as part of their standard process and followed up with a call. Here's what they found: 1. The wrong gasket was used on the oil drain plug. 2. The threads on the pan were stripped. 3. Someone attempted to re-tap the threads. 4.The bolt was ultimately shoved in at an off-angle, apparently just to stop it from leaking. The result? A ruined oil pan and $900 in repairs. Let me be clear: I'm not upset about a mistake being made. Mistakes happen. I'm upset that multiple bad decisions were made after the mistake—sloppy attempts to cover it up, and zero communication about any of it. If you had told me what happened, I likely would’ve still had the repair done at your shop. Instead, you knowingly sent me home in a vehicle leaking oil. That’s not just unprofessional. That’s dishonest, reckless, and frankly, stupid. It sucks to be writing this, especially after nearly 7 years of positive experiences at Grismer Tire & Auto. But this isn’t a minor slip-up. It’s a complete breakdown in integrity and basic competence. I won’t be coming back, and I’ll be warning friends and family about what happened. Cars are too important to entrust to a shop that tries to hide its mistakes instead of owning them. Do better.
