I had a very disappointing experience with this dealership. I specifically confirmed with April, internet sales manager, that the vehicle I was interested in was at the dealership before making the trip. I even told her I was driving over an hour to get there. When I arrived, salesperson Michael informed me that the vehicle was not there and that it had been a mistake. No one seemed prepared, and there was no accountability for the miscommunication. This was extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. Customers shouldn’t be told to drive long distances based on incorrect information. Better communication and respect for people’s time is needed. I would not recommend this dealership based on this experience.

On 10/9/25, I brought my car in because it was slowing down when I tried to accelerate. I’ve always gone to this dealership because I have their free oil change program and trusted them with my car. Big mistake. They didn’t even run a diagnostic until the next day, and instead of calling me, they sent a text at 8 PM on a Friday night with a video. No explanation, no phone call, nothing. I had already told them I’d be gone for a wedding that weekend, but apparently communication and basic courtesy don’t exist there. Days went by. No updates Monday. No updates Tuesday. Finally, on Wednesday (10/15), I get a call saying the issue was my range switch. What they conveniently failed to mention? That my transmission dipstick was missing, the cap was off, and my transmission was leaking fluid everywhere, coating everything in oil. I’ve never had anyone else touch my car except Honda of Clear Lake, so the fact that those parts were missing is completely on them. When I asked to speak with the manager, Eddie Guillory, I was told he couldn’t take my call because he had to go to Bible study. When I finally showed up in person on 10/16, Eddie couldn’t have been more arrogant, dismissive, or defensive. Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, he actually tried to blame me. He said that because they recommended a CVT flush back in August, somehow I was at fault. He completely ignored the fact that my transmission was literally left open and exposed. Then, to add insult to injury, he charged me a diagnostic fee after I was promised it would be waived if I accepted a service. The service he pushed? A $658 range switch replacement, which I now know wasn’t even necessary. I had my car towed to Austin’s Garage in Kemah, and within 24 hours they found the truth: my range switch wasn’t broken at all, it was just covered in transmission fluid because Honda of Clear Lake left my system open. Austin replaced the missing dipstick and cap, flushed the CVT, and fixed everything for $200 total. Eddie Guillory should be ashamed of himself. He’s the embodiment of everything wrong with car dealerships money-hungry, careless, and completely devoid of accountability or integrity. The fact that someone like him manages a service center is honestly terrifying. I would rather pay $80 for an oil change anywhere else than risk another “free” one from a place this negligent. Honda of Clear Lake lost a decade-long loyal customer because of one greedy, dishonest manager.
