Charged $760 (with discount) for a thermostat replacement on a car with the thermostat in plain view, easily accessible and replaceable, put it in wrong, wanted to charge another diagnostic fee ($89) to see why the new thermostat wasn’t working ($20 part btw). Did a “coolant flush” just dumped the old coolant out, put new stuff in. This is a scam shop. Recommending asking their hourly rate (it’s dealership level) with knowledge similar to any other corner mechanic shop. They’re fast though! So one star for that.

Honest 1 did an amazing job with my vehicle. My husband basically rebuilt my front end on my Nissan Rogue but he wanted to make sure my tires were aligned. We called honest 1 to schedule an appointment and the young lady told me I could come right then. We showed up there and they got my car right in, did the alignment and even filled up the tires in our second vehicle. They were nice, courteous, affordable and just an all around pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them!

I just brought my q60 for an inspection and they took their time and told me what was wrong with it. The back rotors weren’t done correctly and needed to replace parking brake shoes and they did it the same day. I got an appointment with their head mechanic on Wednesday. I am looking forward to have my car taken care of more by the people who set fair prices and show honestly and care for their customers. I want to also mention Chloe at the front desk who was very understanding, patient and kind.

Less than 24 hours after having my oil changed at Honest-1, Ladson. SC, my car had lost almost all the 6.9 quarts of oil that it requires to run properly. When I opened the hood, I discovered a gasket sitting on top of my engine compartment. Afraid to drive it, my BMW was towed back to Honest-1, where they proceeded to blame the oil leakage on an unrelated issue and even offered to fix it for an additional $800. Suspecting this franchise location of being unethical and incompetent, I had my car towed to another service facility for a second opinion. Honest-1 neglected to put an o-ring and filter in my car. Unfortunately this Honest-1 location lacks the integrity to admit to their carelessness and has never reached out to me regarding any offer to repair damages. This franchise is backed by a national warranty that states I must return my vehicle to that location for warranty repair work. No thank you. UPDATE: HONEST-1 AUTO CARE eventually agreed to reimburse me for the initial oil change and the cost to clean the engine of any residual oil in the engine compartment. My car has been running fine since this unfortunate accident. I would like to say Thank you to all parties involved in making this possible.

My husband took his vehicle in and they told him he needed a few things done including all new rotors. They replace them and within 3 weeks, he has issues again. He takes the vehicle elsewhere to be inspected and they show us that they rotors were not installed correctly. My husband takes it back to Honest and they inspect the vehicle. They call him to talk to him about the rotors and say it was a manufacturer’s issue. In that same call, Chloe tells him that she wanted to see where my husband had taken the car to be told that the rotors were installed incorrectly so she went through his glove box and found the invoice from the other place. This is absolutely ridiculous. At no point should that have taken place. The owner later tried to cover by saying they had to get into the glove box to check the cabin filters, but Chloe told him why she really did it. From there, they do fix one rotor. We get the vehicle back and it stinks of marijuana. So bad that if my husband were to get pulled over for something, they would absolutely be searching his vehicle. He called to speak to the owner about it, she took her time in calling him back and took no responsibility. She said she would look into it and call him back the next day. We never got a call. My husband looked around his vehicle and eventually pulled out the floor mats and found on the driver’s floor mat that that’s where the pot had been dropped from the looks of it. We cleaned it ourselves. We will never return there and have made sure to let all of our friends know as well including the friends that referred us.
