DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER USING ‘HOTROD, LLC” !!! Also known as BUDY SHOP HOT ROD COLLISION, LLC. 1012 Malaya St, Aurora, 80018 This may be a little long, but it needs to be said. I went there because Ronald, the owner, had fixed something for me before. He was recommended by a shop recommended by USAA. I took my truck to Ronald to repair hail damage. But what he says, and what he does, are two different things. 1. I asked him on the phone if he could “pop” hail damage out of my truck. He said, “Yes.” When I got to the shop, he said that he could not do it, would have to find someone to do it (but probably couldn’t find anyone), and he would have to sand and repaint all the areas. 2. He said that it would take 1 to 2 weeks. When I got there, he said, “No it would probably take 3 weeks.” I had to rent a car for that period. It did take him 3 weeks, but to his credit he paid for the 3rd week of car rental. 3. He said that he would repair all the hail damage he could, buy a new hood, and replace my tailgate that had major rust with one he had on a similar model. I do NOT believe that to be true. The brackets that hold the tailgate still have rust. The part hooked to the tailgate is painted. The part hooked to the truck is STILL RUSTY! Why would someone put rusty brackets on a new tailgate, and paint only part of it. I believe that he just sanded and painted my old tailgate, and soon the rust will reappear. 4. He said that he had to change the color of my paint, because my paint didn’t have a color code. So he picked another paint, very similar, that does have a paint code, BUT he didn’t give me the color code for future reference. Nor did he give me any touch up paint from what he had left over. 5. He said he would give me a 2-year-written warranty if I paid extra for that. I did pay the extra, but he did not give me a warranty. 6. He said that my truck would look like new when he finished. The paint job is pretty (with a few exceptions), but I can’t tell if he put a clearcoat on or not. He “says” he did. He also said that he would fix the leak around my sunroof, which he did not. I asked him why he hadn’t done the sunroof, and a couple of other little things. He said, “It was just so much to remember.” I mean, that IS his job! He did change out some other gaskets that had cracked. He also took my antenna out, because he said that it was rusty, and he would order a new one. 7. So when I left the shop 2 weeks ago (today is 10/25/24), he said that he would buy a new antenna and a gasket for the sunroof (at my expense, but no extra labor costs), and paint some brackets to put on the tailgate. “I PROMISE I will take care of it all. Don’t worry.” I asked if he would need 2 weeks to complete it. He said, “No, just 1.” Well, now that he’s got my money (yes, my stupidity—did I mention $8800?) it’s 2 weeks, and he has not responded to any of my texts or calls to see when things will be completed!! FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO. DON’T TRUST THAT THE WORK WILL GET DONE HERE!!! OR ON TIME!!!.
