They got my truck in and out pretty quickly. The fuel pump went out. I’ve been doing business with them for probably at least 25 years. Jim has always taken care of me. They may not be the cheapest, but they’re also not the most expensive.

These guys are the best. They care for both of our vehicles, both maintenance and repairs. We have two older vehicles over 100k miles each. We always receive great service. They provide options for level of importance when there are issues and when they service the vehicle, they let us know if there things on the horizon so we are prepared. I’ve given Ellis Automotive multiple chances over the years, but the quality of work has been consistently disappointing. After almost every visit, new issues or odd smells seem to appear soon after. Even with basic services like oil changes, the oil is often overfilled and ends up burning off. The final straw was when I took my 2008 Accord in for a 150k mile service and spent over $1,500 on what should have been a solid tune-up. Within a month, the car became completely unusable. When I brought it back, Ellis Automotive refused to take any responsibility or even explore whether their work might have contributed. They didn’t research solutions or consult other experts—just told me to tow it to a dealership or junk it, despite the car having been in excellent condition and expected to last many more years. Communication is also a major problem. They rarely call with updates, even when they keep the car longer than expected. Whenever I’ve called to check in, the staff have seemed annoyed and dismissive. I can’t recommend Ellis Automotive to anyone who expects quality work, accountability, or even basic customer service.

I’ve been bringing my cars to Ellis for over 20 years, ever since they opened at Hampden and Tower Road. Jim was my first mechanic, and that alone says a lot about the trust I have in this shop. Kylie and Jason have been just as wonderful — they truly feel like family. Ellis is refreshingly honest. They never pad the bill, never try to sell me something I don’t need, and always explain any issues clearly. In a competitive industry where trust can be hard to find, these guys stand out. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

I brought my car in because it was stalling occassionally. I assumed it was the battery or the alternator. I got a call back later saying they couldn't recreate the problem and they couldn't diagnose the issue. They were nice enough not to charge me for the diagnosis (which is why they get 3 stars from me). I took my car somewhere else a week later, and, lo and behold, the battery just needed to be replaced. My car hasn't stalled since. I'm confused by Ellis couldn't diagnose that. The guys that work there are very friendly, but I won't be returning

Just had an oil change here. They got my car in quick, but it was $112 for an oil change. This is the first oil change for my 2021 buick enclave, but my 2011 yukon Xl was about $50/60 for an oil change. The manager was always asking what he could do to help the employees and others that got work done were very satisfied with the work. That was very impressive. My car was clean and didn't smell like smoke or grease like other locations I had been to. My only setback is the price.

Nice people, good work done. Prices out of control. Got quoted 1400 for a $200 part and 3 hours labor at 200/hr. That adds up to $800. Where does the other $600 come from? They rip you off on labor costs at this place. They lose 2 customers today. Quite disappointing

First let me start by saying that my father, niece and I have been going here for a few years now. Typical shop with huge part markups. That being said the last time I took my vehicle here they quoted me 900 and change to replace a 50-150 dollar part that takes literally 10 minutes to change. They swore that they were doing more than just that. Even though I didnt think that was the problem they assured me it was. Of course it wasnt just like I thought then proceeded to change another easily accessible part for another 300. After complaining they dropped 300 off the price but the damage is done. If you can find any other shop and I mean any other I suggest you go there instead. Rant over.

Sunday night my wife called me and said she had a tire going flat and fast. I said go to the nearest mechanic shop. Thankfully she found this place. The two or three gentlemen working this shift took such good care of her. So good she felt comfortable working with them without me needing to show up. Put a spare on for her N/C and didnt expect anything. She bought them Pizza and drinks and was very satisfied. Great to know people still care even for something as small as putting a spare on. Very pleased with my experience. Had my vehicle towed to Ellis as my AC and radiator fan was not functioning. When the tow truck driver dropped the vehicle off the lift, he was driving it to a parking spot and noticed the AC was functioning again. At my request, the shop checked all the connections and spent some time looking for any issues. They found nothing wrong. NO CHARGE! Most shops will still go out if there way to find (or fabricate) something that can charge you for. A pleasant experience to deal with an honest auto repair shop. Most of their reviews reflect this. Highly recommend these guys.
