!!!!!!!!!!!!!Do not go here!!!!!!!! I went to this auto shop because of the rating on Google. I failed my first smog due to smoke from the tailpipe. The mechanic here told me I would need a NEW/USED engine for $2400. After picking my car up I went to BOB BROWN'S AUTOMOTIVE on university ave. He checked my car out and told me after driving 2090 miles my engine parts needs to be cleaned out from all the oil gunk. I was charged $160, for the clean up; compared to $2400. I took my car back to the original smog check place and passed. This mechanic is NOT honest and will try to rip you off.

Great auto shop. The shop seems as though it's in a little sketchy part of town but these guys do great work. I have brought my dodge pick up truck here multiple times. The only time I had a problem they fixed everything again free of charge on what they made a mistake on. I have had transfer case seals done, front axle shaft seals, heater core replacement and air conditioning service and they have fixed it within a day or 2 every time. They always call me if they find something else. This shop is always much cheaper than any dealership and every other shop I have called for estimates. I would recommend this shop to anyone needing work on their vehicle.

Quick and affordable! Had a squeaky belt because it was loose after a different place installed a new AC compressor. Just needed the tensioner adjusted. Other place wanted to charge over $120, but this place did it for $40 and only took 20 minutes. Thank you!

When my Jeep broke down on a trip to San Diego, I needed a quality shop to fix it, and quickly. Imperial was my choice, and I was very satisfied with them. It is a friendly neighborhood shop that is well-established, and Junior or Al will answer all your questions. Not only that, but they were very up front with cost and time estimates, and had my Jeep done on time so I could return home on schedule. When I noticed a check engine light on driving away from the shop, they immediately put it back on a lift and had it fixed in 20 minutes. The overall price was much less than I would have expected, especially for a city shop, and they used better than OEM quality parts. I highly recommend this shop to anyone in San Diego who is looking for a place to take their vehicle for repairs or a tune-up. My only gripe: there is almost no place to park outside the shop! I would up parking on the curb, but they shop guys quickly took care of me so it was no problem. Thanks for the great work, Junior!

I am extremely disappointed with this shop. They charged me $64 to diagnose my car and said the repairs would be $857. I went for a second opinion and was told they misdiagnosed my car. There is nothing wrong with my exhaust and if there was, they only charged $440 for the repair. Be cautious coming to this place

Got my breaks done last year towards the end of the year and they squeaked so my bf called them and let then know the problem. They told him to bring it back, They supposedly were going to fix it and do something to the rotors. I gave it time because I heard you need to break new brakes in. Months later they squeak still alot and we are in may. I asked another mechanic and they said they used cheap breaks. I paid a few hundred to get my breaks done here and it was a waste of money. If you hear someone squeaking down broadway it's most likely me.

I just moved here from Nevada and had an excellent mechanic over there. However, I always had a constant issue with my "check engine" light. They would fix it and a few months later it was there back again! The first time I brought my car to Imperial Auto Service, that "check engine" light was gone and I haven't seen it for more than a year!! IF YOUR MECHANIC CAN'T FIX YOUR PROBLEM COMPLETELY, BRING IT HERE!!
