Import Car Service was hired to replace a failed engine on a 2015 Volvo XC60. Job took over 2 weeks to complete once engine was received. Required replacing all ancillary components on the engine block from the original motor (i.e. Turbocharger, all pumps, etc.). The replacement engine carries a 6-month warranty from this shop. After a couple of weeks, the replacement engine was leaking oil, coolant, and had a CEL. Called the owner and requested he look at the issues. He diagnosed as a bad turbo (~$3k+ replacement). Took the car to Volvo dealership for a second opinion. The turbo checked-out fine. The oil leak(s) were caused by a bad return line gasket and O-ring, oil filter housing leaking, both due to faulty installation,. Volvo also found a small leak at rear main engine seal, along with a small leak around the oil pan gasket (both of which should be covered under warranty), Also, the coolant leak from turbo was found to be that the bleeder hose and lower radiator hoses had been spliced together with silicone! Again, faulty installation. All told, additional repairs cost me ~$1500, which should have been warranted, but the Import Car Service owner failed to stand by his work and ghosted me after repeated voice messages and texts were ignored. BTW... the CEL is still on the car, and I am working to have this issue corrected by another shop that stands by their work!
