The guys here are wonderful! They are always very helpful and knowledgeable. My husband and I have taken all of our cars (past and present) here and will continue to do so.

Don't judge the place by the well worn exterior. They do quality work on all European cars and they do not overcharge. They avoid using expensive OEM parts unless it is absolutely necessary. 10/10 would recommend.

I recently started going here and I am extremely happy. A timing belt service on one old Audi, where they also fixed a long standing noise problem. Then a transmission linkage repair on another Audi. About to bring them a 3rd Audi for a brake job.

Went in to inquire about my car. The guy who I spoke with was really informative and answered my questions and pretty much gave it to me straight up about the cost and then some. I have not taken my car there yet but in the near future I will have an update!

I don't usually submit a lot of reviews, but I highly recommend the crew at Import Connection. They have been caring for my older (2002) BMW 525 for quite some time. When I first started going there, it was just out of warranty and it had just started having the "just out of warranty" issues. They have addressed every one at what I think is a reasonable price and have kept my old beamer running great at 145,000 miles on the odometer. I recently took my daughters 1995 318 I there for a diagnosis because she was moving to LA. I stress that this was a 1995. She made it without a hitch and they were very good about letting me know the priority list and then an ultimate wish list. I will always have a BMW, but not a new one with the $85k+ plus price tag, but I always know where to go for good professional service at a very honest price.

I had a little bit of an accident while traveling in Charlotte on business. My transmission was destroyed. Import did a great job despite some insurance issues. They are beyond reasonable and fair in their price. If I lived in Charlotte I would take both my BMW and VW here. Wish I had a shop like this in Raleigh.

I had a really bad experience at Import Connection today, They worked on my car yesterday and the engine light came back on this morning. I took the car in this afternoon to get the light checked, and Jon told me that the guy that worked on my car yesterday was busy. I waited 1hr and 20 min. To make a long story short, the mechanic that worked on my car was not told that I was waiting, and when I tried to inquire about this to Jon, he started yelling at me. I couldn't believe it!! He said the other manager was out, they have been short handed all week, etc, etc, etc, and if I did not like the way they do business to take my business elsewhere! This was shocking and it really hurt my feelings. I know my car is old(2002), I understand that I am a woman and automotive issues can be confusing for some women so maybe my auto ignorance bothered him, maybe he was having a really bad day, there could have been a number of reasons for his outburst, but I was literally in tears when I left there today. . He must be the manager, because he really wasn't worried about losing his job. Maybe he told himself she's just 1 customer, so what if I offend her. But I don't think that's true. If 1 person reads this post, and it makes a difference in their decision as to patronize this establishment or not, then my time will have not been in vain.

Stewart and the rest of the team are very customer focused and professional. Very competitive prices compared to dealership service. Brake repair has caused squeaky brakes; reworked at no charge. Convenient for me to drop off on the way to work.

I took my car in to have the blower motor looked at due to it making very loud noises when on max output. When i picked up my car the noise was still there (though not as bad) but it was still loud and very noticable. I brought my concerns to their attention and someone came out to see for themself. and they too heard the noise. He requested that I give it some time and if it continued to bring it back. I will keep an ear out to see if it gets better and will update this review at that time. UPDATE ....So after very limited driving due to the stay at home order (I have been going out for drives around the city just to get out of the house or to pick up groceries curbside) I noticed on yesterday that I could no longer hear the A/C when on max cool. UPDATE ...the noise did subside but not for long. A couple of weeks after noticing that the noise was gone it started again, and was as loud as it was when I bought it in. I called up to Import Connection and made an appointment. I dropped it off for them to look at and low and behold the blower miter they put on was no good. The replaced it free of charge (it was still under warranty) and since I haven’t had any issues. These guys are honest and take care of their customers.

My Honda CRV (2009) was repaired by this business after two (2) Honda Dealerships couldn't get it right. I was down $500+ in parts and labor. I ended up beginning the repair myself and quit after successfully installing the window regulator but failed to get power. Import Connection took the time to troubleshoot and found that a pin in the receptacle where the regulator connects, was bent. Not only did I have power again but they called me to ask if I wanted the lock actuator installed as well. I had left the lock actuator in a box on the floor as part of the self repair but never got to it. This business took the time to troubleshoot as well as to offer additional support and services that I had not requested. Now, my window is no longer duck taped and when the doors auto lock it doesn't sound like I just got a wrong answer on Family Feud! I HIGHLY recommend this business! They might be swamped and busy but they are definitely worth the wait!

I took my BMW in for repairs to the transmission and oil change. Well it appears the work is very good quality, I do have some concerns over their work ethic and attitude. The sign on the front door and a voicemail on their phone both say that they are Are open at 8 AM, do not believe this. They do not open until nine-ish. The first employee showed up at nine minutes after nine, and was fairly cordial until I made the comment about them being late per their sign on the front door and voicemail. His attitude completely changed that point in him stating that we don’t open until nine was very offputting.

I have an old VW Passat wagon. When I had problems a few months back a different shop suggested that I needed a new engine. Import Connection ended up fixing it for a little over 1K. The other shop's quote was over 7K for the engine alone). Since then I have had other minor issues and they always provide options to fit my budget.

Dropped off my 82 VW Vanagon for an idling issue, they got it fixed within a few hours. Super friendly and I’ll definitely be going back if I need other work done! Thanks!!

My vehicle would not start on Thursday morning June 8th. I called Import Connections to bring it in. I was told wait till tomorrow, as the shop was full today. I had my vehicle towed there on Friday morning June 9 around 11am. I called that afternoon at 4:46pm to check the status of the diagnostic. I was then told it was just pulled into the shop and they would get to it Monday morning. When I called at 12:34pm,I was told that they were diagnosing it and would call me as soon as there was an answer. I didn't hear back from anyone and called at 5:19pm on Monday June 12 and the business was closed early. I called this morning at 9:22am and was told that the mechanics come in around 11am and he would give me a call to let me know their findings because he l left early yesterday due to graduations he was attending. At 11:45am I drove to the shop to find my vehicle was still in the same exact location a it was when I dropped it off on Friday June 9. At this point I had to pay to have it towed to another shop to get the repairs done. This is very very very poor service. I recommend finding a more reliable HONEST mechanic and shop.

Great place with nice honest staff! Brought my Volvo V60 in with check engine light on. Don told me they would work it in and gave me an estimate of when it would be done. They fixed the issue and got the car back before they said! Car was clean inside like no one had even gotten in. Appreciate Don and the mechanics for working me in and getting the car fixed in no time at all! Definitely my go to shop now!

If I could take stars away from a business, I would in this case. My experience was the worst I've ever had with an auto repair shop. I contacted them on 7/2 to make an appointment for repairs on my 2007 Volvo S80 and was told that the first available appointment wasn't until 7/16. I didn't have a problem with that and dutifully dropped the car of on 7/15 after hours. When I stopped by late on 7/16 to see what they had found (check engine light was on and was leaking coolant) I was told they wouldn't be able to get to it for 2-3 days. I finally heard back from them late on 7/19. The coolant fix was going to be +/-$800 and they recommended clearing the check engine codes to see what was the "real" code(s). Given the age and mileage of the car I said I'd like to think about it over the weekend. I talked to Don on 7/22 and told him to clear the codes but don't repair the leak yet because I wanted see what else was going on before putting $800 into it. He agreed and I said I'd stop by the next day to pick it up. When I went to pick up the car on 7/23 it took 45+ minutes to bring it out. When they finally told me it was ready it was parked in front and turned off. Upon trying to start it up the battery (which was less than a year old) was dead. After jumping it a warning came on saying that there was "poor engine performance" and it ran VERY rough. (Surely they would have noticed this when moving it out of the garage.) I left the car with them and told them to figure it out. Another week passed and I didn't hear from them so I followed up on 7/30 and was told that the battery wouldn't hold a charge, was shot and that I needed a new battery. The cost for them to replace the battery and do unspecified "diagnostics"was $500+. I rejected their recommendations and decided to pick it up or have it towed elsewhere. When I went in to get the key they said that they would install a new battery for free "as a courtesy" if I brought them one. $150 and 30 minutes later I dropped off the new battery. Finally, on 8/13 (2 weeks after I dropped off the battery) and having heard nothing from them I stopped by and asked how long it takes to install a battery (O'Reilly's can do it in 10 minutes in the parking lot). Don nervously said that they should be able to get it in that afternoon and I was finally able to pick up my car. It took 6 weeks from making an appointment and 4 weeks in the shop plus $150 in diagnostic fees (for checking the engine codes) and another $150 to replace a battery that was fine when I dropped the car off. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Don & crew seem like nice folks, and I like to support local businesses when I can. Was really hoping that we'd be regulars as we live nearby and drive import cars, but in my experience we're paying around 2x the cost of competing mechanics for basic trans service (even dealers). So I wish you the best, and maybe your experience is worth it, but we plan to move on to someone more affordable. Your mileage may vary.
