This is the best place around for a new tranmission. I searched all over for a reasonable price and here is where I found it. I also love the customer service while my car was in the process of getting fixed. I wouldn't take my car any place else!!!

They overcharged me for the work that they did, & they tried to get my insurance to pay for my car door that I bought. I wouldn't come here unless you want to get ripped off. I had a terrible experience with this entity. It was very unprofessional.

I have been using Island Auto for both mine and my wife's vehicles for about 3 years now. Even after moving to Hampton I still only come here to make any repairs to our cars. The staff cares about your car and will remember you. They always look out for your bottom line and I really can't give them enough praise. There have been numerous times where the shop has gone out of the way to provide me with only the necessary repairs and not overcharge me for parts that are not needed. In one instance when I had exhaust problems I got a quote from a local "muffler experts" chain shop, there I was quoted $1300 for the repairs, after going to Horace my total expense was $300. Sometimes this shop is busy but for the most part your car will be fixed the same day if dropped off early. We are moving out of the Hampton Roads area and I can only hope that we find a shop that is as competent and fair at our new location.

I want to say THANK YOU to the team at Island Auto. I had electrical problems with my car. My mechanic recommended I take it to Island Auto. Antoinette (receptionist) and Mr Chris as she calls him went above and beyond to fix my car with a short turn around. They even corrected issues not related to my problems. Mr Chris came in on his day off to finish my car so I could drive it out of town. They charged me a good price based on what they fixed. His assistants where always working hard and Island Auto takes pride in what they do. This review is not a gimmick cause they was honest with me and I am honest about this review. Its the least I can do. I plan to use them in the future. Glad I was introduced to them.

Previously brought my car in to the dealer for an undetermined noise that they didn't properly diagnose, so Island Auto in Chesapeake was suggested to me. I had him do my Spark plug wires which took him a week and the assistant told me he could have been got my car done then he claimed to fix my break line which won’t never fixed my brake line was leaking fluid and almost caused me my life, he overcharged me $400 for 2 simple things and refused fix and give me my money back . I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RINKY DINKY SHOP HIS WORK IS NOT GOOD AND HIS PRICES ARE NOT SETTLED AND HIS ASSISTANT IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND MADE BAD SUGGESTIONS ON HIS WORK ETHIC. This is a very disappointing black owned business Do not I repeat do not get your car serviced here

Got engine replaced in February. Check engine light didn't go out so I took the car back the next day and he couldn't figure out what was wrong or couldn't clear the code. Fast forward to now and I got a diagnostic done and it turns out that I'm having the same issue with this engine and he knew it that's why he didn't want to clear the code. Not to mention I spend almost 7 grand for an engine and catalytic converter. Which in all reality I didn't need either. *If you did people right you wouldn't have to move your business. Small claims here I come with receipts and all.

Took my truck there for repairs for the same issue with one year catalytic converter paid over $1,300 for the parts and labor only to have it done 2 times within one year on my 3rd one took it to them telling them it was the catalytic converter again said no it’s the spark plugs and coil packs pay $500 for that get it back in one day I break down again towed to another shop they tell me what I’ve already known it’s the catalytic converter costing me another $1,400 this time I know the other shop put on new part and my truck rides beautifully now the other shop informed me that Island Auto put on an old used part and charged me for a new part plus labor their bad for business don’t take your vehicle there unless u want to be over charged with worsening issues then what you took your vehicle there for they get 0 stars… I’ll never recommend anyone shop around first !!
