It is always difficult to find the BEST automotive experts that would treat you and your vehicle with utmost professionalism. But, meeting Ken and Don was the best experience a customer could ever have. Ken and Don always deals with their customers in a very friendly and professional manner. This Review is way overdue. Last year I moved out of state unfortunately had to leave my 2000 honda prelude at Don's shop for an engine rebuild. He did an excellent job! I picked up the car and drove 2,500 miles back just fine. His knowledge on cars is impressive. Thanks Don for everything that you do!

I am very satisfied with the top-notch service at J&D. They are very professional and knowledgeable. I had previously brought my Mercedes Benz to various other shops in the area prior to coming here without any luck. When I brought it to J&D, Don was able to make a correct diagnosis, quickly. He really knows his stuff! What really made a difference was the fact that he made sure to make note of all the problems I was having and asked thorough questions prior to even looking at the car. I also liked that they took the time to go over all the options with me to ensure that I was making the best decision for my car as well as my wallet. This is by far the best shop I have ever been to. The pricing is very fair, and most importantly: they are very honest and will go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great service without spending a fortune. I will never take my MBZ anywhere else!

Took my vehicle in for an alignment. They spent an hour and an half doing the work. Once completed they pulled it off the lift, parked it, and told me it was ready. It was not. They never tested their work, the vehicle pulls to the right hard. They failed to tell me it might need more work done. They didn't check other suspension & steering components. I returned 3 days later to get them to recheck but was given the run around and asked to come another day because their lifts were in use. They told me there was other problems they couldn't address before, but never brought them to my attention at the time. Nothing about my experience made me feel they are an honest shop to do business with.

This place is very reliable and does good work for a reasonable price. Had both my Hondas fixed there picked my 2004 civic up today, runs great. Will be using them again! He also gives you a list of things you need to do as you get a chance to do it. No pressure.

I usually don't write reviews but these guys deserved one. I took my car in to have some work done on it, and Kenny Tran let me know everything that was wrong with my car, from beginning to end. I trust these guys, and I'm a very skeptical person when it comes to auto repair shops. I did a lot of calling around before I took my car here. And I must say that out of everyone I called I really felt the most comfortable with this shop. Never felt like I was being taken advantage, of nor being charged outrageous prices. My car rides like it came off the show room floor again thanks to Kenny and his team. Oh and I almost forgot to mention that he even showed me the old parts that were taken off my car a lot of shops don't do that. And even thought I still need more work done on my car that's no big deal, cause who's number I've got saved to my contacts now. Yeah that's right "Japanese and Domestic Auto Repair". They've made a life long customer in me now. Thanks Guys!

I think people should not come here to put your trust in them. a man working at the counter has a very disrespectful attitude towards customers and looks down on customers. i have used their service many times and i have witnessed this man's attitude very rude. when I come here to change the oil. I bought the oil already, but when he found out that I brought my own oil, his attitude became more serious. He asked me why I didn't change it at home but had to come here to change the oil. I feel very strange with this question of his. I understand he's not happy that I brought my own oil instead of his. I still pay for the service $45. very expensive and received unprofessional attitude. I suggest that everyone consider my comment about the owner of this car repair shop. should consider sending your trust to them.

I highly recommend everyone to NOT do their state inspection at this location. I took my car to do my state inspection and it did not pass. When I did a diagnostic test on my car, it turned out all the listed items were fine and there was not even a check engine/emission warning light showing on my dashboard. So I went back 3 weeks later to do a re-inspection at this place. When I explained to the representative that everything looks fine, he asked me to show him proof of paperwork so he can record in their system and provide it to the state? MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE! All I was asking is a re-inspection! So I ended up going to a different location with a state inspection signage and low and behold, my car ended up passing the state inspection at that different location. How odd? I did end up paying for another state inspection but the other location was kind enough to offer a discount. I will never do my state inspection at this place EVER AGAIN! Not only do they rip off customers they also lack professionalism. Very rude and condescending. Lesson learned.

We had a great experience here. Ken, Don was the main person who helped us, they was friendly and listened to our needs and made every effort to satisfy us. We appreciated his advice and honest his professionalism and his humor. He also helped us tremendously, he took the time to explain things and he made us feel very welcome and after we picked the vehicle up we're thrilled and so happy all the work they did. Had been looking into good mechanic repair shop and we found here, that day and this was the place and the people that treated us most like people instead of just potential repair shop, we are very thankful for all the repaired they did for us. A/c engine repaired, brakes, all are very affordable price, and also we like the original parts they put in that belong to.

I believe everyone should consider this repair shop. unprofessional and rude attitude coming from the owner. he is the one who works at the counter and also participates in the car repair process. my family have three cars and live about 5 minutes from this auto repair place. Because of the convenience, we often visit and use their services. My family and I have repeatedly received contempt and rudeness from the man who may be the owner and works at the counter. We do not accept their attitude too much because of convenience. but today I decided to give them up and write this review. the owner is very rude and has a bad attitude towards customers. I brought my car in for wheel alignment. The result I get is many errors when I leave the shop. The steering wheel after fixing was not balanced and caused me difficulty in controlling. I went back and suggested someone could fix it. He had a very unprofessional attitude. I decided to go to NTB to get it fixed and things got better. Thank you for reading this review and I hope you will consider it before coming here.

Walked in and greeted whoever was at the desk and immediately got the worst attitude ever, just turned around and walked out. Edit: your reply to my review is not true, I came in and greeted you and then introduced myself then asked if the manager was there, which you proceeded to say "you talk to me" I asked if you were the manager and you didnt answer. Keep posting your replies to reviews that make it seem like the people who come in are the one's at fault.

I gotta give it to Ken, such a solid guy! I went to his shop after some random burning smell started to permeate inside the garage when I parked the car after driving. He took a look at the car and sent over a mechanic to inspect it right away. After about 5 minutes, he came back and told me that a piece of plastic got stuck in between muffler and some pipe at the bottom of the car. Cleaned it real fast and didn't even charge me a dime. I shared the experience with my wife and added to the fact that Ken actually helped her with some car issues in the past as well. One being a malfunctioning light, and a broken mirror the other time. On the occasion with the light he only charged for labor, but with the mirror he not only bought the correct part but charged a fair price for it and the work he did to repair it. I'd highly recommend this auto shop.

Beyond dispointed. Brought my 06 durango to the shop for repair. Upon completion of replacement of water pump, heater hose and fan clutch, I received a call notifying my vehicle was ready. Drove my vehicle to work after pick up. 10 miles dow the road, my engine over heated. Call the shop and demanding to know the reason. I was told my head gasket also required replacement, but didn't said anything in the massage. I was told that they had spoken to my wife and told her about the issue. (My wife knows nothing about the vehicle repaire). As result, I had to call the tow truck to bring my vehicle and myself to work. $2400 for the repair and had to call a tow truck due to miscommunication. Took a day to work on the head gasket issue. When I begins to take things apart, I noticed my $70 K&N washable engine aur filter was replaced with cheap one washable filter. I checked the invoice and found out my filter was replaced as I specifically told them not to touch my engine air filter.

This is the second time I have used Japanese and Domestic Auto Repair of Garland Texas! The people are honest and friendly. They are reasonable and they explained everything in detail. I have never used a mechanic before and both of my 2003 Nissan Xterra are showing WEAR and TEAR. I 🙏 prayed for a honest mechanic and God send me to these guys. I would like to clarify that at no point was I aggressive or rude — your allegations are not accurate. As a customer, I clearly explained that I only wanted my brake pad issue addressed and declined additional inspections. If I arrived before business hours, it would have been completely reasonable for you to ask me to wait until opening time instead of requesting to keep my car for the entire day for a simple brake pad issue. I also never authorized extra work or charges beyond what I requested. My comments and the reviews below show that other customers have raised similar concerns about service and attitude. Future customers can read all reviews and decide for themselves whether the problem lies with staff or customers. Additionally, since your reply accuses me of being “aggressive,” please explain exactly in what terms or actions you believe I was aggressive. Without specifics, your claim appears unfounded. I stand by my original review and hope this feedback encourages better communication and respect toward customers in the future.
