I would have updated my review thoroughly and promptly when the car was returned fixed, but I didn't like the snotty response my previous review received. Just because you don't have my name on file doesn't mean I'm not intimately connected to someone who is. Would have given 5 stars last week, but the problem was not fixed after all. The car is back with them. Already paid almost $1000. We'll see what happens now. I'll update my review accordingly.

Had a great experience with Jefferson auto! I call and talked to Chris and he had me bring my vehicle in the following morning and road with me to help determine what-it was that I was hearing. I left my car with them and they did a complete check and sent me a comprehensive list of the issue and non issues. Their communication and professionalism is exceptional. They dealt with the issue and did not try to over sell me on work that wasn’t needed. Very happy with this shop and will go to them again when I need work done!

The honesty and integrity of the shop is amazing. I went in to have them look at my brakes [mostly because they hadn't been looked at in over a year and the vehicle was at 117k miles], they took pictures AND video of their inspection, and shared it all with me. My front brake pads were still "green" and my rear were just into the "yellow" zone. They didn't try and sell me to get the pads replaced. They actually told me I was good, but that they'd be there to replace the pads when they actually get low. They sold me on their shop. This will be the place I take my vehicle if I have any issues because I know I can trust them.

BEWARE!! You’re on the hook just for them to confirm there’s something wrong with your vehicle. I was drawn in by the advertising that boasted honest and fair pricing, that highlighted even women who are nervous about being taken advantage of, need not worry. What I actually encountered was the opposite. Just to check and diagnose my car they wanted to charge me a $150 diagnostic fee. Ordinarily, this would apply to any work that needs to be completed. Thankfully I asked if it applies because the answer was NO! It’s a completely separate charge that you pay AND then also pay them to fix the problem. If you know anything about automotive repair, the very first thing that’s done is plugging in a computer that diagnoses any malfunctioning processes and spits out codes with solutions to the problems. Even dealerships that are known for being more expensive, use this same practice, but they apply the diagnostic fee to any work that is needed as long as you use them to service the vehicle. Understandably, if you have the car diagnosed and then leave then they’d need to be compensated for their time and I’d agree. The reason I bring my car to a mechanic is because I don’t fix vehicles. When I call a plumber or a HVAC contractor, they don’t charge me to diagnose my issue. That’s why I hire them. Even in that scenario if they come out the “service fee” is waived because they are awarded the work. As long as this is the policy I won’t be back and I’d suggest you find other options as well.

I'm not a "car guy". Chris at the the front desk was helpful beyond words. He took great pains to walk me through the issues with my car and the various choices about where to start. Chris was patient, tolerant and always pleasant with a man who just can't stop asking questions. Adam, the mechanic who worked on my 2008 Toyota Matrix, did a very conscientious and thorough job. I feel fortunate to have found Jefferson Auto. The company is honest, fair and meets all deadlines. There's nothing like supporting local small business. You won't be disappointed.

Good auto repair shop here. Found them without a whole of lot of backlog on board. They got my car right back, evaluated and reported on, and then repairs performed next morning so that my total turnaround time was 25 hours. I don't see that kind of performance anyplace I've ever taken my car. Will be back.
