Paul's is a good mechanics shop. These guys diagnosed the issue with my wife's can quickly. They need a better layout of the building. Confused which door was for customers. It was supposed to be the left door next to the office, but booth doors looked the same and we walked into the office Were to park at for incoming customers was not clear. I think you are supposed to park next to south Gratiot.

I always seen this place being mentioned on Facebook when someone asked where to get their car fixed. With all the positive i had to give them a try. I had a major issue with my car and had a warranty service on it. They went out of their way and spent tons of time working with the warranty company to get the car fixed and fixed correctly. They are very professional, very thorough and my car runs beautiful now. Thanks again! Mike

I can’t say enough good things about Paul’s Auto. After my truck started surging RPMs, stalling, and making loud noises, I had it towed to Golling Chrysler in West Bloomfield since I had active recalls and hoped they were related. They kept it for several days and told me I needed a new transmission—for $8,000. Thankfully, I called Paul’s Auto and spoke with Kyle. He offered to take a second look and called me back the next day: the issue was just low transmission fluid. He topped it off, drove it 20–30 miles, and had no problems. While another shop rushed to an $8,000 transmission replacement, Paul’s Auto took the time to diagnose the real issue—and saved me thousands. Their honesty and quick turnaround made a stressful situation easy. I’ll never take my vehicles anywhere else.

June 24 I had my 2004 ram towed in because it dropped the driveshaft (the rear end went out) They took care of me and are honest. I've had my truck in 3 different times and they resolved all my issues highly recommend this place.

Fantastic service whatever the issue is. Very honest and trustworthy and lots of experience. My wife and I have been dealing with Paul's staff for the past 8 years and I have recommended them to many friends and family. Finally, I mechanic you can trust. Thanks Kyle, Bob, Robin and Tom for all you do for us. Extremely satisfied with your services.

The guys at this place are fantastic, Tom Kyle and all the guys are so polite and they know their craft well, I will never take my car to anyone else, great prices and quotes, they replaced both lower control arms, all the rubber bushings, ball joints and wheel bearings then topped it off with a front end alignment. They had it finished in one day (that’s a lot of work) and my Mustang GT drives like it’s a new car, I love my car again, I will tell everyone I know to bring their vehicles to Paul’s Auto Service. 👍🏽

I took my car to Paul's after reading some good reviews from customers on Google. My air conditioning was not working and not holding pressure. They informed me they put it on a machine overnight to see if it would hold pressure and find where the leak was. Called me the next day and said it held pressure, no leaks. Charged me over $600. The very next day I had a puddle of refrigerant in my driveway. While my car was at their shop, I inquired about changing out spark plugs. Qouted me $600 some dollars again. I declined, watched a YouTube video and did it myself in under 2 hours. Spark plugs were $130. Paul's is charging $250 and hour? Not a good experience or service provided. Id take it somewhere else

Update may 2025: I cannot say enough about these guys!!! Had my vehicle up north at a Firestone who attempted to tell me to take it to a dealership for major repair I bit the bullet had it towed to Paul's and in 3 to 4 hours they managed to find the actual problem again these guys are great they do great work!!! They turned a nightmare into a beautiful Dream... Long story shot : 1st mechanic(just up the road) wanted 1000$ for radiator fan, then couldn't tell me if anything else would be wrong also suggested I'd need a whole motor 5k$. Also owner was very hot headed. Came down to Paul's Auto Service. I explained to Paul's crew what happened what I experienced... They promised me a way better experience. They delivered!! 200$ for battery connections. I will be back they've gained a new customer.

Only recently did I first use Paul's Auto, but I can tell already that Kyle is an honorable guy who stands by his work. His staff is also friendly and professional, and it’s obvious this shop is busy with customers. They get a big thumbs up!

So this shop works on the cars for a & b motors on gratiot, and I got my dream car there. Before 90 days of owning it, it had engine/motor issues. Paul’s auto got me in right away and was ready to fix it and had the parts and were ready to work on it before warranty even approved it. They helped get warranty approval considering it was such a new car to ME, and made the process smooth even though it took a while because of the warranty company. I’ve been driving for a long time and have bad luck with cars and this is the only place that has ever called me with updates and was consistent. Robin was super helpful. I would definitely go back.

I had my truck serviced by them 2200 dollars worth of work. I was very disappointed with there work. First thing is I had my battery replaced, these battery’s are 300-500 dollars. It was supposed to be in my truck(not big deal) wasn’t there then when I ask for it. Tom plays dumb then sets it on my leather sit. Wow! Then I had a tune-up they rip off my heat shield stuck it in the frame of my truck didn’t put it back on. Then I had A new tensioner pulley and belts put on they forgot the zip ties they used to put the belts on the pulleys. Then they checked under my truck they took off the little cap that you can see where the fly wheel is they forgot to put it back on. I call tom he says well, I don’t know how that could be. Why would they be under there doing that, ok why don’t you take a look at your notes that you sent me in your invoice?(guess what they had the cap). So then I go there and the other Guy behind the counter says can I help you Tom says to him oh ya that’s John so you know they were speaking on you. My truck now runs worse then before I took it to them. Iwill not go back there I don’t trust them. They don’t pay attention to detail Or take accountability for their mistakes. All I got was excuses and A smug smile. (Tom) if you can’t do the small things correctly how can you trust them to do the big things with your vehicle. If your going to do business and want return business you need to treat people’s valuables with respect and care no matter newer or older.. What happened to quality service and things being done right the first time.

Took my vehicle in for multiple engine light codes. This is the first time I did not get upset when told exactly what was going on with my vehicle. They explained everything and even showed photos of the issue. I had previously took my vehicle elsewhere and in doing that is where all the trouble began. I truly appreciate the time they took to really look into the issue and not rush things to find the main source of the issue. They found a problem I would have never knew about since it was replaced by the other mechanic shop without my knowledge and with the wrong part. Thanks guys so much!

My whole family chooses to use Paul's Auto Service. I would say that it has been at least 20 years that I have personally been taking cars to them. They are by far the most fair and honest shop that I have ever had to work with. I will forever bring my cars to them, and I highly recommend them to everyone that I know. The guys and lady at the front desk are very professional as expected and the family that owns the shop are great people. I appreciate them for all they do for me and my family.
