My entire experience at Joe Hudson was very satisfying and super easy. Everyone was more than willing to help answer any questions I had, work with my special conditions and made me feel extremely welcome and well taken care of. The process was made simple. I was updated every step of the way via text and calls. Every time I called them I was able to speak to someone directly. They were always pleasant, patient and personable. After I picked up the repaired car, the engine light came on, and the temperature gauge for the engine coolant was indicating “hot” after 20 minutes. If I had not stopped and parked the car, it could’ve done serious damage. They were lucky that I even looked at my dashboard and that I even knew to pull over as soon as possible. What if I had gone on a trip? It was inconvenient for me and 4 other people. I’m on crutches and had to go up and down the stairs extra times. I don’t have sleeping pills for a week because of them - missed Dr. appt. Some of their labor is subcontracted, which means not so high-quality mechanics I think. Many insurance companies use Joe Hudson (I didn’t have a choice) but if you have a choice, do not go to Joe Hudson. Even if you do have insurance telling you to go to Joe Hudson, maybe go to another garage because Joe Hudson only warranties for 90 days for Travelers. There could be something wrong with your car after 90 days and then you’d have to pay even if it’s their fault. Who knows what else they didn’t do right. But if I had gone to a better body shop, maybe the repair would be of a better quality! (Robeman’s in Birmingham Alabama for example) All reviews for this company not good on other sites either. Update: really bad communication between shop supervisor Walt and office worker. A known problem with them. In the end, I had to pay Uber to get to the Boddy shop to pick up my car even though it was their fault. I had to pay $10 because they made a mistake. It’s not the money it’s the principle. They never acknowledged the inconvenience

My experience with the collision center on the south side was not acceptable. My vehicle was received on July 17th, and I was told that I would receive a text with an update on the completion date. After four days of no notice, I called and was told that my vehicle was still being worked on. I was informed that, due to their painter being sick and their need to acquire a painter from another store, my completion date would be moved. Ironically, about 20 minutes after I hung up, I received a status text update stating a completion date of July 24th. I remained patient, even when the date was changed to the 28th. However, as I was en route to pick up my vehicle, I received a notice that it was not ready. Upon arriving, I was told that the painter was on vacation and that they would have my vehicle ready the very next day. The following morning, I called just to confirm that it would be ready. My representative, Jessica, assured me that my vehicle would be ready that evening at 4:30 PM. I turned in my rental car to Enterprise at exactly 4:00 PM and requested transport to Joe Hudson. At about 4:15 PM, while the driver and I were on the way, I received a call stating that my car was not actually ready because the technician did not like the part being installed. This explanation didn’t make sense, considering my previous conversation with Jessica, where I was told the issue was due to the painter’s unavailability. I feel like I was being lied to. The driver had to return me to the rental store, which meant I had to redo the rental on my credit card, causing funds to be frozen on my card for the second time in one day. The communication provided by my representative was very poor. Although the body shop covered the remainder of the rental time, I did not feel that they were apologetic for wasting my time—not once, but twice. On the actual pick-up day, there was a car part left in my front seat. I informed the front office, and they claimed it was something that came off my car, but they could not visually match it to anything on my vehicle, as I only came in for a busted tail light. My hope is that communication is improved moving forward, because the service I received was very unsatisfactory.

If you get into an accident take your car to Joe Hutson’s body shop in Southside They can fix it. Here’s a before and after photos of my car. My truck was hit in the parking lot also. They did a great job fixing it.

If you're looking for consistent communication from this location, I'd consider looking elsewhere! I feel like transparency with this entire service could’ve been better. I’ve been told over the course of the week (when my car was sent there), only to find out from one of the employees that my car wasn’t being service until just days later with absolutely no way of knowing. Even if there was priority with other vehicles, I should’ve been informed of this instead of just being given an estimate for the end of EVERY DAY SINCE THEN with updates few and far in between. I was also told I would get a call back with updates--I was never called. I had to call around 1PM that day just to see if any progress had been made. The day that my car was actually finished I had to CALL THEM, instead of receiving a notification. Although, they were nice enough to stay later than they were open for me. I will not be recommending or using this location again, as I’ve received the runaround numerous times about the price, and status of when the car will actually be ready for over a week. The lack of communication and the clarity of the situation has been very upsetting! Besides all of that, my repair was done well. I haven't had any issues since.

I accidentally hit a deer and damaged my car. My insurance company referred me to Joe Hudson's. As soon as I parked in their lot, someone was already coming out to meet me and inspect my car, no waiting at all. It took about 10 minutes for the inspection and I was ready to go. The lady that met me was super friendly. Even though my car was totalled, I feel that Joe Hudson'sdid a great job and they were very understanding about my loss.
