He has helped us with issues with a current car and also inspected a used one we were looking at buying, and he told us all the pros and cons of what he found. Joel went out of his way to help start my car after the battery died on it a little ways from his shop. I drove it around for a while and brought it back to him to see if it would start after I shut my car off. It worked and I was sent on my way. He was so nice and upbeat during the whole thing and put me at ease. I would 100% go to him again.

This is the only place I have been taking my car for the last 4 years and they are absolutely amazing!! Honest and hardworking they have never overcharged me and I almost always get my car back the next day (the longest I've ever had to wait was 2 days). They are honest and will tell you if something needs to be fixed right away, or if it can wait. They have even done several work around for me to save me money on a car that I just needed to run. Joel is knowledgeable, honest, and affordable. I trust him with my car. I can't, however, say the same about some of the guys he has working for him. A lot of them seem to "shoot from the hip" on their repairs. I wish I could count the times I've received my car back from his shop only to find that something else was now wrong and had to take it back. You'd think they'd notice this stuff on the test drive, but no. Case in point, my brakes failed on the highway the very day after I got my car back from Joel's shop. I strongly suspect that no one followed the procedure to trigger the self-adjustment mechanism on the shoes, which caused drag and boiled my brake fluid. I'm lucky I didn't hit anyone. In all, Joel's shop is fine for easy, run-of-the-mill repairs. For anything complex or involving deeply interconnected systems, take it to the dealership.

Joel & his team are great! They always make sure to get my car in as soon as possible and are very trustworthy. Recently I was experiencing some squeaking in my breaks, and because they replaced them just 6 months ago, he told me to bring my car in, and they would take care of the issue free of charge. Our son is in school in Eau Claire. His check engine light came on yesterday. He is planning to come home this weekend for Easter. We stumbled on a bunch of positive reviews about Joel’s. I specifically said over the phone I wanted to use my own oil and filter. He quoted me 30 dollars. After it was done, he said it was 45 dollars! He said its more expensive if I bring in my own oil and filter! Total rip off! Ill never go there again! Bait and switch central!

I haven't had any service done here yet but was calling for a pre purchase inspection and I'm guessing I spoke with the owner. Very nice guy and very knowledgeable and willing to give advice even before anything is scheduled. A lot of shops will act annoyed when they have to answer the phone and not really give you any advice before you schedule service but he immediately was helpful and friendly. Definitely deserves the good reviews.

Joel‘s is exceptional—I went to UW-Eau Claire and found his shop my sophomore year when I got my own car. He is kind, honest, and true to his work. He understands college students and the situations they may be in. He didn’t just help and repair my car; he taught me how to do it myself when he wasn’t there. Many feel that auto shops are selfish and profit-focused — Joel’s is far from that. Living out of the city for two years now, I have realized how lucky I was. It is hard to find a shop that shows you transparency and selfless work. Joel and his team are reliable and dependable. If you are around the city, go to Joel’s and never think twice.

Literally the only mechanic I’ll go to in town. Joel is super honest and straight up- I’ve had work done with him before and it was all super easy and straightforward to get in and out. Today, i discovered a mouse has been getting into my car somehow. I brought it to him, and, free of charge, he checked everything out and told me what to do to replace my cabin air filter. Meanwhile he is extremely busy and getting phone calls and booking out into next week. He gave me 30 minutes of his time for FREE, and taught me how to fix it myself so i can save over 100 dollars in labor fees. What could have been easy money for him resulted in good advice and an amazing deal for me. Thank you again! I will definitely be back if my car needs servicing

I’ve been going to Joel’s for the past 4 years, more than a dozen times. Joel is very compassionate and flexible. The workers there are really efficient. Andy is amazing! One time Andy and another worker (I didn’t get his name) walked with me and my roommate back to our house to help us get her car unstuck from ice, not expecting anything in return. Any problem with my car has been quickly fixed and with great quality. If you don’t know what’s exactly wrong, they will go on a drive with you to figure it out. I love Joel’s and as long as I’m in/close to Eau Claire I will be going there. Thought I’d finally share my review!

These guys are awesome! My daughter goes to college in town at the University. My daughter had a major issue with a major oil leak with her 2012 Mazda 3. They were able to get it in and fixed the same day after we had it towed to the shop using our road side assistance. Easy to work with professionals and since I live in Minnesota that meant a lot. I highly recommend this shop!
