Car was taken to him in March for NYS Inspection and Engine light diagnoses. Charged over $600 for repairs (including EVAP, exhaust, tires, etc). Engine light remained on even after taking it to him a second time. Took the car to another shop and they told me that the repairs done to the EVAP and exhaust were not done properly. New shop fixed all remaining issues and engine light is now cleared. My mother filed a dispute with her bank as she paid for the repairs and was to let them decide what should be paid for and what should be refunded. Marc would then attempt to call my mother and when he could not get a hold of her, he showed up on the property and threatened to take parts off the car. Police had to be called for him to leave. He knew he was attempting to intimidate her even though he claims he was just talking, so she became scared and withdrew the dispute. However, even after being told the dispute was withdrawn and he would get his money in about a week automatically and also was told not to call or show up anymore, he continued to call her and threaten that his bank would dispute with her if he didn’t see proof of dispute withdrawal. He would then call again even after all other issues were settled in his favor trying to defend his work. My mother is elderly with health issues and does not need the stress of being harassed in this manner. Right or wrong about the dispute, this was highly unprofessional on his part. You don’t conduct business by showing up at customers homes threatening and harassing them due to a financial dispute and continue to call them even after being told not to do so anymore even after the matter was settled in their favor. You conduct this type of business if you can’t do so peacefully over the phone via letters, via bank disputes as attempted here, and via lawyers if it comes down to it. That is how you handle things professionally and with tact. I can not recommend this shop ever not only due to low quality work, but also due to unprofessional and harassing conduct. Now, if he continues to contact my mother or myself after being told not to and having the issue resolved in his favor due to his harassment and/or continues to do so after receiving this bad review (which is free speech), legal action will be pursued.
