I was referred here by my sister's best friend and I was not disappointed. It's hard to go to an auto repair shop and not feel like you're getting ripped off somehow but I didn't feel like that at all while I was here. Mike and his team went above and beyond to diagnose and resolve multiple issues on my 2001 e320. They were friendly, patient, professional and transparent. I drove away with peace of mind and assurance that I made a good decision to come here. Honestly, this was probably the best customer service I've had at an auto repair shop and I'll definitely start going here for future needs. 5/5 would recommend.

Not someone who typically submits reviews but I must. Let me start by saying I am super OCD when it comes to who services my cars. My local mechanic was on vacation so I googled and found Johanns t replace my starter on my 3 series. From the start Mike was professional but more importantly super knowledgeable. Mike and his team are great. My car now drives like new and I am super confident that under Mike's care the car will go another 100K miles.

First and foremost! Forget about just getting your car fix. Most mechanics can pretty much fix any problems as long as you’re willing to pay for it at their price. Unfortunately some are not as honest and they tend to charge you more for services you don’t really need. I’ve taken my car to numerous places in the past and had always felt like I’m being overcharged or cheated. Even places that have high ratings. Johannes Independent Mercedes is a bit out of my way. But let me tell you! Mike is the most honest mechanic you will ever meet. I’ve compared prices with other shops and he always, always tell me what I need and quote me prices that are beyond fair. And the job and expertise that his shop offers is second to none. Believe me when I tell you that Mike is the best. And the care that he put towards his customers are amazing. Plus he’s an extremely nice man. I never review anything but I felt I needed to review Johannes Independent Mercedes!!

Mike is amazing and his garage is an absolute gem! I have a 2011 BMW 328i that was originally my dad's in New Jersey which we shipped out here for me and he had a great independent mechanic there. My dad was hoping and praying I could find someone just as good to take care of the car in LA and lo and behold I found someone even better now! Mike is insanely busy (for a reason) but he makes time for me and makes you feel important whatever the problem is with your car. Him and John diagnosed my car immediately twice now (once was a fuel pump gone bad, and most recently my starter needed to be replaced) with complete transparency & honesty! I had my car towed there on a Friday afternoon and it was fixed and ready to pick up Monday evening working like new again. Super fair pricing and all around just great people you can laugh with. I wouldn't trust anyone else to work on the car from here on out, they are extremely experienced with BMWs & Mercedes, especially older models. Car problems can be a big headache and a nerve-racking expensive experience but now I can rest easy knowing I'm in the best hands!!

For many years I've trusted Mike with all of my BMW's. His workmanship is stellar. His relationship with us as customers is genuinely top of the line in customer service. He cares about us and our cars. If something is not right, he picks up the phone and calls you letting you know what needs to be done. I appreciate Mike, and his workers of Johanns Independent. I can not recommend this place highly enough. Our Mercedes Sprinter campervan broke down in Pacific Palisades and we were at a loss for where to bring it, being from Oregon. I randomly called Johanns and, based on reviews and an inkling that Mike’s accent belonged to my brethren, suspected we’d be in good hands. Mike said that they don’t usually service vans but he knew we were in a jam. He asked a few questions and told me to have it towed over to them. Despite being very busy, they ordered parts, got us fixed up and sent us off with a warm hug and a van that purred like a kitten. Many thanks to Mike an his crew for their kindness and excellent service. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I called Mike, he asked me to bring in my car at 10am as my A/C was not blowing cold air. I stopped by, Mike said he needed 2 hours to test this which I was very happy about. Long story short, at 530pm the same day I drove away with ice cold air conditioning a 2 year warranty and a wonderful new mechanic for all my future maintance. Mike's price was very fair, I had done my research as I am a woman on my own which is a nightmare going to see different mechanic as you do not know who is telling you the truth. If you are looking for a honest, sincere mechanic, call Mike, you will be happy you did, he is my new mechanic for my car. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I stumbled upon this shop and I’m so glad I did. I called them up asking for an estimate on break pads for my Mercedes and Mike on the phone said If I could come in between the next 20 minutes he’d check if I even need the service yet. Got there, Needed the service, and was asked if I needed the car by a certain time. They promised me a time and delivered. Mike was very friendly and answered all the questions I had. He even showed me the parts he replaced and explained what they did. I will definitely be bringing my car back here when maintenance is needed. Quick service, friendly, honest.

Visiting niece in icu..out of town ..my mechanic recommended him..told me to go get car from dealership that wanted $12,000 to fix and told me not safe to drive..I had to drive 500 miles..I drove car over ..right at 6pm..he said no worries bring over..he puts it on diagnostic that dealership just charged me $350..he told me safe to drive 500 miles..I drove home with no problems at all..Nothing...He also didn't charge me anything . He is one in a trillion...a treasure..Thank you Mike..the owner..this could have cost me alot..probably from unneeded repairs..

Never have I had a mechanic who was honest and trustworthy, this is until I met the guys at Johanns. I went to them twice thinking I needed my breaks done but both times they told me the service wasn’t needed at the time. For someone who is money conscious but also wants to keep their Mercedes in good shape, I really appreciate their approach towards repairs. I’d highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t already. Mike has a customer for life in me.

Thanks to reviews decided to try this place for my bmw. Needed oil change and maintenance check, since my car is out of free maintenance after 3 years. Very happy with the service quality and price. Also Mike is very knowledgeable and nice person. Definitely will be back!

I took a 2003 Mercedes CL600 here for a pre-purchase inspection. The guys were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, informative. They did a thorough inspection, and walked me through every aspect of the car, what was good, what was bad, what needed work, how serious any issues were. I would go out of my way to have my Mercedes of BMW serviced here. They love these cars, and it shows!

STOP THE SEARCH ! If you're looking to fix your BMW GO HERE! Hands down the best place in L.A I have a 2010 528i BMW I neglected. I took it here basically said I want it like new. Mike the Manager is a great person to speak with. Knowledgeable and will answer your questions, but my guy CESAR did a fantastic job on my car. My car literally feels new. By far best place to take your vehicles if you don't have a person. Prize was very reasonable Just go here if you need anything done on these type of cars. Won't be disappointed! Tell them Hugo sent you , might even help lol P.S My guy CESAR was so proud of his work . Let me tell you, I can see why. The pictures do not lie

I was putting off repairs for my '04 BMW 325i for months. It felt different than it used to and lost its umph. I brought it to Mike- he sat in it, turned it on, and seconds later, told me to put my hand on the wheel. He shifted to reverse, and drive. He told me the vibration I was feeling was probably because the engine mounts needed replacement. He told me he'd take a look at everything else to make sure the car was good. I picked it up a few days later. When the car turned on it sounded and felt like it used to. Mike said, "now you can fly." I brought the car on the open road and the power was back! The cost of repair was more than reasonable. I could not be happier with my experience w Johanns and will be back when my BMW & Merz need service.
