Disappointing Experience – Misdiagnosis & Overpriced Service I brought my vehicle to this shop based on a friend’s recommendation due to what seemed like alternator issues. After diagnosis, I was told I needed a new key. The cost for the key seemed inflated, but I proceeded with the repair. Unfortunately, after driving for only five minutes, my car broke down in the middle of a busy intersection during rush hour, creating a stressful and unsafe situation. I had it towed back to the shop, where it was later determined that the alternator was actually bad. When I questioned why the alternator was deemed fine on Friday but failed by Tuesday, I was told they had not properly tested it the first time. This lack of thorough diagnosis led to unnecessary expenses, a dangerous breakdown, and major inconvenience. I was disappointed by the lack of accountability and would not recommend this shop based on my experience.

I appreciated how quickly I was able to schedule to get my vehicle in for repairs. I was also very appreciative of the fact that I felt heard and all of my concerns were addressed. I never felt like I was being treated like I didn't know what I was talking about simply because I'm female (it happened at the last mechanic shop I went to - not cool). I really, really like the full internet accessible list of all of the items checked along with recommended repairs and a rating on how immediate those repairs should be done, accompanied by an estimated price for each repair. Awesome! I felt very comfortable when I picked up my car, knowing that each of the items I was told would be fixed were. I'm so glad I found L & R!

I have had my cars serviced at L & R for more than 25 years. The customer service is great and the quality of work is excellent. A couple of times I've had to bring my car back after a repair and they took care of the problem immediately. L & R is a perfect example of a small business that is a great asset to the community!

I've been taking my car here for a few years now and I am a loyal customer. L&R is a LOCAL business and has always done reliable and timely work on my car. I've only ever had a single issue/dispute with them and they did the right thing taking care of me. That alone is difficult to find with a mechanic and I'm grateful I have a shop in the neighborhood that is trustworthy and treats its customers like a part of the community.

So happy, that I don't know where to begin. Being new in town, I didn't know where to go when my brakes started talking to me. L&R Automotive provided thorough, technically-competent diagnostics complete with photos! They provided images of my brakes and confirmed that I did not require replacement at this time. All of my truck's fluids were put on a drop board where I could see the difference between "normal" and my truck's fluids! In all my years of having auto maintenance where I used to live, I've never had such confidence-inspiring proof. The visual proof along with the top-tier, personal attention from this family-run business, convinced me that I can trust them to keep me safe on the road. This is especially important as I frequently tow my horse to ride and camp in remote areas and cannot chance a break down with a horse stuck in the trailer. I feel very fortunate to have found them!

I really owe L&R a "sixth" star, because this is the second time I have received outstanding service from them and I neglected to review them the 1st time. The 1st time I had my truck towed to them because it wouldn't start. Everyone in the lobby was very friendly, and they clearly explained the diagnostic process. As a bonus, you are able to monitor progress and see reports on your phone from a text they send, so that is helpful. Issue ended up being a bad fuel pump so had to get a new one. Based on the research I had done, I was charged a very fair price for the work done. Fast-forward to a week ago, I just finished fueling up when my truck wouldn't start.....again. Once again I got towed over to L&R who squeezed me into their busy schedule for a quick diagnostic. Sure enough....it was a bad part (not their fault) which they happily replaced with the lifetime warranty. They had me back on the road the next day. I can't commend L&R enough for their friendly service, honesty and integrity, and excellent work. I definitely recommend them....even though I hope I don't have to see them anytime soon.

bait and switch. will never recommend again, and will never use again. To reply to your reply: you DID know re the suspension type as you repaired it a year or so ago. You also quoted the rear shocks price then, in writing. Then you repeated the estimate a month ago when the car was in for a different repair, AND repeated the estimate when you offered the percentage off for recommended repairs last week. You have records of repairs to my car as you have continued to contact me to market your services. And an increase of over $~400 dollars? Your excuses don’t hold water.

Aubrey helped me out, and she was very kind, knowledgeable, and gave me a discount. I brought in my Nissan to be diagnosed, and although they do charge for a diagnostic fee, it's less than what the dealers charge by far. They assessed my car, and unfortunately determined it would need a massive repair that would cost more than the car was worth. I decided not to do the repair and will donate the car, but I appreciate their honesty, and Aubrey felt bad for my situation, so she gave me a nice discount on the diagnostic. I will be bringing my other vehicles here. It's hard to find an honest mechanic, but these people are honest, kind, and they work very very hard.

I’ve been taking my cars here for a few years and I’ve always been happy with the result. I wouldn’t describe them as cheap, but I would describe them as fair and honest. A lot of places will offer free inspection/diagnostic, only to then hand you a quote for thousands of dollars of service that you may not actually need. L&R charges for the inspection (not a lot), and won’t try to sell you or scare you. This has been my experience with them from the beginning. I’ve brought my cars in after visits to the tire shop or dealership yielded huge service estimates, only be to told that those service items are actually non-urgent.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Drove my car in for diagnostics and repair on my clutch. The car worked when I drove it in. They ran diagnostics, quoted me on the repair, I agreed to the cost and the repair took place. When I arrived to pick it up, I couldn’t put the car in gear. When I told them about the issue they said “Oh ya, we meant to call you.” Then they wanted $3,600 ( vs a $1,500 quote from another shop) to fix the clutch. Not kidding, he called it ‘Bad Luck’. I had the car towed and now it’s irreparable. When I called another shop they said ‘Don’t tell me you took it to L&R.” From breaking my car, denying responsibility, and then calling it bad luck, this place is irresponsible, unethical, and a liability for your vehicle and your finances. Trust me and those around town who know, keep shopping.

Wish I could recommend them. I almost called to book but I saw a review posted recently about how this shop wrecked some guys car. I'm someone that listens to customer reviews and that review was bad so I called around and heard much of the same. Glad I read the review and even more glad I took my car somewhere else

Very nice & friendly workers but abit expensive in my opinion. Especially for 2 simple screws & mounting a license plate frame. The workers are really fast & efficient though so that was much appreciated. They did a secure & solid placement though so I definitely agree the job was well done.

L & R is a great place to take your vehicle. We have had them work on several of our cars in the last couple of years. They are honest and they do not up charge unnecessarily. They send out a quote before they do the work for you to approve ahead of time. They are a family business and it shows. Everyone is polite and respectful and Aubrey is awesome with communication. She even stayed open late for me one Friday night when I was rushing to get service paid for and my son’s car picked up. Hands down 5 star company across the board. Highly recommend Aubrey and the rest of the team.

I called in advance to inquire their ability to diagnose my 2016 rams air suspension issue. They indicated it would not be an issue as they have many years of air suspension experience. My investigation report said that the previous dealership had installed the front leveling sensors backwards, even though they're labeled left and right, and suggested i needed a read diff oil change after 14K miles and an engine oil change because it was dark after 1,400 miles even though my truck is a diesel. I asked for a specialist to diagnose my issue and instead likely got the new guy that doesn't know diesels turn oil black after 100 miles and no information on why my suspension was having issues.

They charge more than a law firm just to tell you what you already know, that your car needs work. Then they have the audacity to keep texting you to come get repairs after i declined their service. At least offer a discount on your $175 hourly charge if you want my money to take off some bolts and fix stuff that requires no degree and no certifications.
