I just picked up my 1988 Ford Ranger 4WD pick up from L&R. This truck has been to the dealer in Bremerton, and another local repair shop in west Bremerton I will not publicly disclose. The dealer said they would not work on my fuel system because it was too old and they did not want the liability, the other repair shop just gave up when they could not get it running. It was suggested that maybe it was time to just junk it. Well I took it to L&R on the suggestion of a friend. It now runs like a top and for less money than the dealer was going to charge me (before they declined the work) with more work getting done. I do not normally post reviews but am VERY happy with the results from L&R. Thanks L&R.

They are very reliable and do great work with my car. They explain things and answer any questions I have. I can count on them to treat me with respect and have never talked down to me.

Honest, hard working, local, need I say more. Except for last last week. I took my 1998 Gold Trans-Am back to their shop. You see previously 6 months ago I spent $2,111.00 in upkeep work. Replacing the main seal in the rear end, drop engine, replace knock sensors, all oil gaskets, sparkplug, wires, etc. This is a Summer car for my wife and stays garaged during the winter. It had been driven 35 miles since last service 8 months ago. Started car, backed out of garage and was leaking tremendous amounts of oil. I assumed it was engine oil so I took the car back to L&E and was shown the oil was from a power steering high pressure line. I asked them how much to fix it and was quoted $1,100.00. I was in SHOCK! This is not that hard of fix. To replace the hose, and power steering pump it's less than $100.00 in parts I expect to have it completed worst case in a weekend but most likely in a couple hours I am not sure of WHY they gave me such an out ragious quote but I am taking back a star (from five to four) and am now leery of them. They blew 15 years of trust with that quote.

L&R has been the place to take my vehicles for more than 40 years. If I ever have a problem with their service, they take care of it right away. They are a friendly, caring bunch of guys, and good at what they do.

L&R has been in Kitsap County for 40+ years. The staff is helpful and polite. I have taken my car there for years. Don't let the shabbiness of the place out you off. They also receive AAA auto repair shop awards.

Brad is very honest and upfront . I had a issue with my Mercedes and Brad had one of his techs work on my car and to make a long story short the tech couldn't figure the issue out after a costly repair and Brad was not happy so he refused to take payment from me due to that. Its hard to find honest mechanic shops but these guys at L&R are honest and straight forward. Got my CPS replaced there also.

changing rating from 5 to 1 star My last job was an expensive brake job which they botched. I brought the car back because it smelled like the tires were burning. The owner told me that this was because brake fluid had gotten on something. Didn't even look at it. I brought it back again - the tires were so hot and smelled like burnt rubber when they informed me that the calipers - which they originally told me were FINE - now needed to be replaced. How can you not catch this during the repair? So - then they charge me for the parts but gave me a "break" (no pun intended) on the labor. So this job cost me more in the long run than the other estimates I rec'd from other shops. Prior to that: They replaced my water pump - which also failed. I brought it back and they fixed it but denied that anything was wrong. Seriously, all the water drained out of the pump yet there wasn't a problem? At least they did not charge me for this one. Prior to that: I paid for a 100K tune up. Was charged for and told my spark plugs were replaced. I had another tune-up about a year ago at 122K on the odometer. The shop told me I was way overdue to plug replacement. I told them they had been replaced and when. They said no way. They showed me plugs. It was their opinion that the plugs had never been replaced. I used to change my own plugs back in the day and had to agree with them. I hate to say it, but I no longer trust this shop and will not return.

Went to L & R on the recommendation from my dad who has been having vehicles fixed there since the '90s. Fix was smooth and price came in less than I had expected. Friendly staff who wanted to know how my family is doing and made me feel like an old friend. I'd recommend L & R to everyone.

I've been taking my vehicles to L&R for several years now. With three brands (Land Rover, Subaru and Mazda), they've always treated me and my wife right. I guess the best I can say is that I recommend L&R to me friends and all of them have reported being happy with the service they've received so far. It's so nice to have a honest and reasonably priced service center available.

Our go-to vehicle service center. Quality work, honest dealings, reasonable prices, quick turnaround. My mother once took her car to the thinking something was seriously wrong. Turns out it was something very simple. They fixed it and didn’t charge her at all. They’ve earned our loyalty.

Had cars here for work several times since early 2000s, as taking my '84 Mercedes to Phil Smart in Seattle just got to be too expensive (two ferry fares - four if I got a loaner! - and the last few times they didn't fix all the issues). L&R did a great job, MUCH cheaper, trusted them and they didn't disappoint; great people too. Unfortunately, their "old car" guys have recently retired, so can't take Mercedes or my '64 Nova there anymore. Too bad; not only did they give great service but are only a mile from our house. 😒

Started going to L&R upon a friends recommendation. Had an alternator issue. They fixed it right and it was done in a timely manner. I have since had all my maintenance done there. They look after my vehicles and I have never once felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. Prices are reasonable. Update: zero complaints about this place. Fair process, good work and nice people.

Had a great experience here at L&R from the time I walks in and scheduled an appointment. I already knew what was wrong but I could not get to the part. So I scheduled an appointment which was an easy process they were able to squeeze me in quickly, and the service was extremely fast. Chad provided excellent customer service. Thank you to everybody who helped me make the repairs to my Cadillac CTS. I appreciate you guys. I will spread the word to anyone in need of a mechanic and I will definitely return for repairs as needed.

Finding a trustworthy mechanic is a big fear for most people, myself included. Fortunately, my neighbor told me to call L & R Automotive. We have taken our cars to them for everything from replacing an engine to brakes and oil changes, L & R (Brad) has never suggested work that doesn't need done. He looked over a used car I was buying and told me what work would be needed, which helped me feel confident with my purchase. Most recently, I took my car to him for the 90,000 mile maintenance. I was apprehensive about what all would need done. I was relieved that it wasn't a long list and was even told that nothing was urgent, which allowed me to decide what work to have done when. The work was done fast and at a fair price.
