Service was absolutely fantastic! You will be lucky to get JaQuana as your server. She is enthudiastic, fun, knowledgeable and the best server we have had at a restaurant in a long time. Food was really good too. Spice and flavor made to order!

The food was good but the service and management staff was inept. The server dumped an entire beer on to our friend and completely soaked his outfit so badly that he had to leave. No manager ever checked on him or asked if they could rectify the situation. They used all available napkins to sop up the liquid and never brought more napkins for the table. Our food did not all come together and we were given a vague answer as to why and our order was incorrect when it did come.

I was very excited to try this restaurant, we went with a group of friends for New Years Eve, the waitress was good, the drinks were fine ($9 margarita in a rocks glass of full of ice, so a bit pricey, but I wasn’t expecting it to be cheap, it was just okay). Our chicken wings appetizers were just “okay” also, the flavor was not something I would want again and they were not crispy, the chicken itself actually tasted old and I didn’t finish mine. The cauliflower appetizer was pretty good, but at the end of the day it was just cauliflower, so...? Another girl and I got the Canelones which I was extremely disappointed with, we both agreed it tasted like a salty chicken lasagna dip, there was almost no texture to speak of, the “pulled chicken” was super fine pieces in a white sauce (think hot soupy chicken salad) wrapped in 2 small soft mushy crepes DRENCHED in SALTY Italian tomato sauce. I don’t care what they call it or where the recipe is from, it tasted like an Italian pasta sauce. All for $16. There were mixed reviews from the rest of our group, the same sentiments though overall about the level of sodium, the lack of food, and nothing that was “great”. It was fun to try a new restaurant and some dishes and sides (yuca, polenta, etc), but the fact that we were all offering our food to each other because we weren’t really finishing our dishes is very telling that we likely won’t be back. A note about the decor, there is a lot going on, as an interior designer it looks as though 3 different designers chose everything and didn’t consult with each other. I imagine the bar alone was an amazing expense and I cannot reconcile the blue patterned mosaic around the bar bottom with the shiny black/white granite top, etc. I am surprised to see the faux weathered wood tiles in such a new restaurant as that trend has been over. I did weirdly like the mosaic walls in the bathroom and they turned out to be wallpaper which I applaud as the average (non neurotic notice every design detail, lol) person will assume they are tiles and never suspect. I don’t want to sound just negative (what?? haha) there were a lot of amazing aspects to the decor (the long hanging lights, the red tiled wall, etc), I just feel that it could have been done for $1,000’s (like considerably thousands) cheaper with a better effect and the money saved better spent adding chicken to my dish.

We came there on 7/5/2019 herd good things about the food. Let me say this the decor looks nice greeted nicely by the girl in front. Now the bad, the waitress she was fair, the food was fair, but taking a hour to get the food to the table, and it was extremely hot inside the restaurant, not worth it.... my wife thought the food was good....But I base a restaurant on service, how good does the food taste and how long does it take you to get the food to the table. And it missed the mark with me, I doubt we will be back.

Hip decor. Decent if overpriced food. They call it paella but it’s really fried rice—paella doesn’t come out in 6 minutes. Empanadas are small. Great beer select and excellent service. Go for the trendy look.

Not impressed with the food. For the items it list in their menu, I was expecting lot more flavor specially with ingredients like chorizo and dishes with names like Paella and empanadas. Just not enough flavor comes through specially for the price. Presentation and ambiance are really the goal for this establishment. The place is very chic and cool looking. Maybe that is you thing not for me though.

1st time here with my wife, wow ! Great food with southwesten and central/south American flavors. Food was flavorful with right amount of spice. Appetizer with cauliflower was amazing. Skirt steak was delicious and filling. Try the camarones, you will not regret. Thanks for a great meal and excellent service. We will be back.

My experience (6 visits) has been consistently good food and friendly service. Pricing seems inconsistent but there are some solid values on the menu (especially the empanadas). Atmosphere and decor are great. Try the cauliflower and yuca fries - both are a great way to start a meal.

We've eaten here a half-dozen times now, between lunch, happy hour, and dinner. The drinks are great, and we've never had a meal that wasn't absolutely delicious. The staff are also wonderful. Spanish cuisine is not easily found, which makes The Livery that much more precious, because it is outstanding. Our favorites are the ceviche and paella. And the ciccarones starter snacks are so tasty that I wish they sold them by the bag. If you haven't been here, you are really missing out on something terrific.

We loved this place. Our waiter, Tony, was fantastic. We ate there twice because we ran out of days. You would never know that this place served Mexican food. I had a carriage house margarita which was absolutely refreshing. I had the veggie quesadilla both times. If we ever go back to South Bend, we will return especially if Tony could be our waiter.

Great is often overused but not here! Our waitress, Q, was great... very attentive, friendly, polite, colorful, and really knowledgeable about the establishment and everything on the menu. We had the Paella and the Canelones. Both dishes were wonderfully full of flavor and delicious! The portions were perfect. To top it off we shared the Tres Leches dessert and it was great. Claire, a Manager, was also very attentive by checking with us a couple of times. We will definitely go there again.

Had the oysters, red drum and paella which were all excellent. The artichoke was very chewy but the other dishes were good enough to more than make up for that. The house margirta was one of the best I’ve had in south bend. The atmosphere was appealing and open. Our server was kind and quite attentive despite being very busy. Excellent experience all around and will be going back soon.

Go here for the atmosphere, not for the food. Service was friendly but food took a looong time. Unique decor was appealing, though. Wait staff ignored two grandparents we were with, but that may be a South Bend thing against people perceived to be cheap (white, +65 y.o., near ND). Wait staff also was cheerful and kind to my kids, though. Very appreciated. I wouldn't say avoid this place, but the food just isn't quite there yet. The other reviews detail the differences between expectations/way food's plated and actual taste; I agree. Again, I would have loved to sit in the atmosphere at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail. Actually, I'm changing my rating from 2 to 3: South Bend could use a few more risk takers like this place!

$10 lunch deal - taco salad and two queso empanadas. With a rotating menu, a restaurant that you will want to return to as the seasons change to see what tasty meals they’ve come up with next.

A great meal overall and very reasonably priced! My friends and I really appreciated the good food and service. A more robust offering of vegetarian dishes would be great, but it's not difficult to find a delicious option!

I loved the place and the service was second to none. Very friendly staff from walking in until leaving, they make you feel part of the establishment. I went with my wife to celebrate Valentine's day and we brought our 1 year old baby, everybody was so nice and giving compliments to our baby. My wife got the Canelones and I got the Paella, the Canelones were good and tasty but my food was a bit spicy. My wife and I are thinking of going back to the bar, it's really cool the way they arranged everything.

The Livery is the upscale dining experience that Eddy Street needed. The interior is beautiful and the food is delicious. I had the Cuban Torta because if there’s a Cuban on the menu, I have to try it. They keep it simple, but the quality of ingredients means the flavor pops. The price fits what you’re getting. Ultimately, the slow service kept it from being a 5 star, but the Livery is still a great place to eat.

I had the Manchego Crisp salad with shrimp and the Soledad Fire mezcal drink which were both delicious. The service at the bar was great. The prices were reasonable for the menu and the atmosphere was great with an updated decor. I’m in South Bend weekly for work and decided to try this, it was a Monday night and it was pretty quite so I can’t speak to other reviews about service being slow but I’ll go back, if this changes on additional visits I’ll update but I was very happy with my experience! Went back week later and had same salad and drink (don’t usually have same thing but it’s very good!) and was equally impressed with service and food quality! Had the beet salad last night, it was delicious! Fresh beets and grilled shrimp can’t beet that! Love that soledad fire drink! Recently had the ceviche and sweet plantains, both which were delicious. The plantains were some of the best I’ve had and I was impressed because it wasn’t sweet like many I’ve had. The jalapeños, black bean purée, pineapple and the rest just blended well together and was very flavorful; well done! Had the chipotle wings recently, very good seasoning not too spicy, very good!
