I was a regular customer of Lowell's for 7 years. He rebuilt engines for both my Karmann Ghia and my Bug. I was very pleased with his work. My cars were with him regularly. He was my only mechanic. I stopped going to him because I moved out of state. The rebuilt engine in my Bug failed and then caught on fire after moving out of state with less than 500 miles on it. The Karmann Ghia's engine was rebuilt in 2021 and the alternator is not grounded properly and overheats. I'm blowing through alternator belts because they are melting. In 2021 I had a lot of body work completed by another shop. After the body work was done I asked Lowell if he would be interested in installing my new window seals. He agreed. He rook a metal bar to my door frames and chipped off the new body work and when I asked him about it he didn't take responsibility and I ended up having to file an insurance claim for more body work. Luckily, I was able to show my insurance company photos of my car being in the paint booth a few months prior. I contacted Lowell last year and forwarded up with documents recently about my Bug. He has blocked me from his phone and isn't responding. I have referred many Volkswagen enthusiasts to Lowell. I always paid him cash for his work with one exception of paying him through paypal, AND always rounded the bill up! I was a very good and loyal customer to Lowell. I always spoke highly about him. I am very disappointed in Lowell's behavior.
