The Maaco team did not scope my project correctly and did not paint all the affected delaminated areas of my truck that were agreed upon. Instead of being honest with me about the scope being wrong, I was upsold on a full truck paint job half way through the week without being given a reason why. I declined. It turns out that if you are a body shop you define a difference between a “roof rail” and a roof paint job. Now I am being told I will have to pay for the remaining damaged area to be fixed when the issue was that they did not scope the project properly. The photo below is the “roof rail” which they said they wouldn’t paint.

I would recommend this Maaco to anyone that is needing dent repairs or paint for their car. I worked with Alex through my whole process and he is amazing! I brought my 1995 Honda Prelude into the shop, my favorite car to drive and they did an amazing job all around. Got my dings out here and there and new paint and my car looks brand new! I got Blue painted the other day! It cost almost 2k, but they did a GREAT job! there were a couple of "dust specks" that I wasn't happy with, but still, she looks like new again! I should have taken before pictures. the clear coat (factory new 15 years ago) was peeling off EVERYWHERE and blue looked like she had leprosy!

I came here to get my roof painted after they painted it, they broke both of my roof trims and one of them fell out while I was driving. I went back to ask if they could repair the damage and they said my latches were broken but they weren’t before I got my roof painted. They offered to replace the roof trims but I would have to pay for them. I also notice the paint was off on the side of the roof that wasn’t there before.

I have a 2000 mustang and I went in about 3 weeks ago to get an estimate to see how much it would cost to get my car repainted and right when I stepped in Humburto and Alex greeted me right away and asked what I would like done and I was done within 10mins and came back 2 weeks later and I am still in awe my car looks brand new, I was amazed right when I pulled up to see it and I still am to this day they both did an amazing job as well as their team. I did the highend package for 1.6k and let me tell you if you have the money do it, you wont regret it!

I recently had my rear bumper replaced at this auto body shop, and let me tell you that I have 0 complaints. All their staff is fabulous! Very cordial and experienced. Their service is top-notch, and they are very transparent regarding the work needed on your vehicle. And most importantly, their prizes are amazing! You will not find anywhere else where the prize equals top quality—shootout to Hector (store manager) and Jessica (estimator). You guys rock! These guys will treat you and your vehicle wonderfully! I brought my 3rd generation 4Runner here to get repainted. Although the staff were very friendly and courteous, their job quality was very weak. The first of my concerns was that they did a bad job at masking off parts of the car that were not supposed to be painted. Typically when painting a car, the rubber seals have to be removed along the windows to avoid painting over them and to ensure the panel underneath can be painted. They ended up partially painting over the rubber seals on all the windows on my car, meaning they didn't bother removing them and instead relied on taping them off. There was also tons of over spray inside the interior of the car and it seemed as though they didn't even bother cleaning it up after finishing until I brought it up during pick-up. They also painted over the suspension components on my vehicle which are an obvious no-no. I brought up these concerns with them and instead of fixing the issue, they simply showed me how to clean up their mess myself rather than doing it themselves. Next, I had them also replace my front and rear bumpers on my car because I wanted them to stay black (same color of the plastic when you don't paint over it). Not only did they paint over the bumpers despite the fact that I clearly instructed them not to, but they also broke my rear view camera and did not fix it. The last problem is that part of the job included in the price was fixing any dings or dents in the body panels prior to painting it. Although they fixed a significant dent on the hood, they missed at least 3 smaller dents along the door panels and fenders. To conclude, if you're looking for a new paint job or any sort of body repair, I would avoid this shop entirely until they improve their quality and workmanship.

I had Maaco repair rust and paint my 1997 suburban in a different color than original to the car. I am very happy with the results. There are very few minor imperfections in the paint and minor overspray. The rust repair was perfect. I had rust through the rear quarter panel and it is undetectable.

This place did an excellent job on my 1968 Ford ranchero. Hector is a car guy so he understands how important a good job is. It was just a “scuff and shoot “. After all the car is a driver. But it looks great. The price was about right for the job. People think Macco does a cheap job and they do. But if you’re willing to pay more you get more. Thanks you guys.

Just picked up a 2018 Mazda CX-5 that I recently got, which had scrapes, scratchs, and a poor interior. They a great job on it, it almost looks new. The Mazda paint is the most difficult paint on the market (fantastic when new). They did a fantastic job. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Maaco Costa Mesa! I recently had my 2008 Honda Element repainted, and the results honestly exceeded my expectations. Before, the hood was patchy, the top panels had weathered rust, and there was quite a bit of bumper damage. Now it truly looks good as new. They gave me a great price, the turnaround time was incredibly fast (about a week!), and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. A huge shoutout to Jessica in the office — she was absolutely lovely, so helpful, and made everything easy and stress-free. This car means a lot to me — I’m the original owner and it’s very sentimental — so trusting someone with it wasn’t a small thing.
