Free, no tickets needed. Paid parking nearby, limited free street parking. Popular for all the guided tours. There is a free, yes free whiskey tasting bar. Bring your ID! You get 6 small thimble tastings. At 1pm weekday I wait maybe 10 - 15 minutes. The next time at 11am it was not 100% full on a weekday. No waiting. NOTE: Antique Archeology closed in April 2025. There are other interesting shop to visit. Across the street are some old cars built at Marathon Motors.

Pretty cool place .I liked how you technically are walking thru a car manufacturer plant ,mixed with stores mechanical historic parts presses and car parts.But there are also places to shop eat explore taste test whiskey pretty genius overall i would recommend for sure plus some super friendly owners and staff

Was a really unique place to visit. Apparently this was an old motor factory that made cars individually but was run out of business by Henry Ford and his cheap assembly line motor vehicles. You can tell that at one point in time this was an extensive operation as there are smoke stakes, yards, and square blocks on both sides of the street where this place stood. Most of it is still in pretty good shape and has been converted to a kind of mini mall. Shops, restaurants, abound and it had on display at least 100 different machines Marathon Motors employees used to hand make a car over 100 years ago! These things have to be seen in person to really get the full experience. Recommend highly and grab a sandwich at the deli they have there. Mine was excellent!

Tourist trap with some nice highlights. Don't miss Screened Threads and Rock of Ages for locally crafted souvenirs. Southern Engine Deli has great prices for great sandwiches. The museum feature is well curated but weirdly underlit. A few of the shops are just tasteless or mass-produced junk. Skip those immediately; there's better in the space.

This is a must stop location and honestly a little hard to describe in the best way. They’ve somehow blended a historic site with all kinds of machinery and small shopping areas, all under one roof. It’s unexpected, interesting, and surprisingly fun to explore. It would even be a great stop for older kids who are into machinery and how things work. Best of all, it’s free, which makes it feel like a true hidden gem. You just don’t come across places like this very often, and it’s well worth the visit.

We visited this spot while on the Nashville trolley tour of historic downtown spots. We did not have enough time to go in as we joined the trolley tour later in the day and we would not have a ride back to our vehicle. We did hang out for about 15 minutes on the outside of the building but there is a museum apparently with automobiles made by Marathon motors as well as a few other shops in a couple restaurants in that vicinity.

The brain child of one of the most amazing men I have had the privilege of meeting. Years of collecting displayed magnificently. It is quite mind-boggling all the things that are there to look at that has been collected from all over. I have never seen even the amount of pictures of vehicles and the machinery that is located at this place and there is no charge for going and looking. It drives traffic to all the little shops, distilleries Winery and everything else in the area. Absolutely amazing. Not only did you get to see the machinery and vehicles but the history behind it and how it was displayed I enjoyed all the little shops along the way obviously spending way more than headache on to a museum but at least I have something to show for it. Go it was one of my favorite things of everything I did when I was there. If I had a chance to go back, I would definitely check out all the other shops that I had to pass on the first time even the deli was amazing at this location.

This was really fun! The (major) disappointment was that the museum where several of the Marathon cars are was closed! We were on a hop on hop off trolley tour and we went to the car museum part after we went through the manufacturing area (very cool), but when we got to the car museum it was closed. No signs saying when it closed or when it would open up next. So we caught the next trolley and as we were pulling away I looked over and saw the door open and a few people inside looking at the cars. They need to communicate better about closures like that.

Worth the visit when in Nashville, it’s cool to see how this old factory has been repurposed and preserved. Variety of places to shop memorabilia and places to eat. Be sure to visit the Marathon Motor Musuem across the road. It’s a stop on the hop on hop off trolley tour, so easy to get to from downtown without a car.

This place was SO cool. Free to walk in. If you like antiques, history, manufacturing, automobile history etc... You have got to visit this place. The other shops were fun. Almost got a tattoo at one of the tattoo shops but the prices were ridiculous.

We were staying near the Marathon factory and stopped by to check out the stores. I was really surprised by how cool this place was. I had no idea that they would have the old factory equipment and historical records everywhere with shops mixed in. Eclectic shops and restaurants. Awesome place. Highly recommend going there. We tasted some great beers and our kids went back and did whiskey tasting. We found some great things in the shops. Stop by and spend some time there if you’re in town.
